What am I supposed to do when my iPhone 3Gs won't activate when I uppdated it to iOS 5.0.1? Thankful for answer and help!

I uppdated my iPhone 3Gs to iOS 5.0.1 yesterday. And since then I have tried to activate it but it keep saying "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes."
I have tried to connect it to iTunes but then iTunes tells that the SIM-card isn't activated or that I got no SIM-card in my iPhone. Please help me! I don't know how to get my iPhone activated so I can use it!

To update iTunes and sync an iPhone you need to be running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on an Intel Mac.

It appears that your problem is being caused by the Windows file KERNELBASE.dll. There are many results in Google where that Windows file is causing applications to crash. You should post on a forum that deals with Windows problems.

Yes tried resetting the wifi connection and problem still persist.
Here it is...to make it clear. Connected thru the same wifi at home...
-> emails (yahoo/gmail) and facebook WEBSITES are working fine and fast when using/accessing thru a browser (chrome/samsung browser) - no problem with this.
-> emails (yahoo/gmail) and facebook APP is soooooo sloooww (thru the App). Slow I mean comparing it to using their browser/websites... news feeds/emails refreshing so quickly but not when using the APP installed in Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Slow like - It will take around 5-10minutes just to get your emails and news feed refreshed.
THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN CONNECTED THRU A WIFI which has a speed of 10-20mb. It is not happening when connected to the network data/plan.
My wife has the same Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (coming from different provider at&t) - same setup (emails, fb app), same wifi connection, but she's not experiencing anything like it.
Not sure why, I dont want to believe that while connected to a WIFI, Verizon is restricting anything and ******* me off to make me switch to my data plan connection everytime - which is Unfair!
Was there a known issue similar about this case?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

I just went through this yesterday and because i am no where around my computer i lost everything and now my battery drains very fast...you are going to have to recover your phone i hope you have everything backed up and are next to your computer...if you are push and hold your home button and plug into PC at same time and continue to hold the home button untill you see your USB on your pc screen light up (depending on what type of pc maybe i dont know what you have)

follow instructions for restore/sinc

So you started downloading it and it won't finish? Hold the home (circle) and lock (top of phone) buttons at the same time untill a power off slider comes up. Turn off your phone and when you turn it back on it will ask you for your password to restart the download. Click cancel and it should cancel the download.

You can clean the iPhone's dock connector with an old dry toothbrush.
You won't know for certain, but if no change after making sure the dock connector port is clean, more than likely there is some damage.
Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby where it can be determined if there is damage to the dock connector port or if there is another hardware problem.

Hi Jen. My daughter just compleated her nursing program and is now working as a full time nurse. Focus and study hard and soon you will be there too. Now to the problem at hand. I have the same problem. I gave up on it and satisfied myself with my iPod without the upgrade. Reason being I've read so many posts of people having problems after the upgrade. But I'm sure other factors are involved. Nevertheless here is the fix most say works to solve the problem: What ever virus protection you have installed on your computer, disable it. Then try to install the update. After that enable the protection. I had Kaspersky, and it does it's job well. The thinking is, the virus protection is blocking the upgrade. Hope this works. Charlie

If you have been through ALL of the troubleshooting steps and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for investigation.
