What (and where) is Yosemite's "dark mode"?

I've encountered references to Yosemite's "dark mode" but I don't know what it is or how to activate it (and Mac Help makes no mention of it - someone at Apple please take note (yeah, right)).
Can someone enlighten me (or endarken me, as the case may be)? What is it, how do I activate it, and how did the people who know the answers to these questions find them out? I was never told...

The only actual purpose I can think of for dark mode is for folks who want the entire interface to have a consistent look when using pro apps from Adobe, Apple and other sources who all have the idea that a pro app should have a dark gray design. As if somehow that makes it work any differently. So as an example, this is how Premiere Pro looks under Mavericks:
Boy, that gray bar on top really bugs me. If only there were a way to make it a dark gray to match everything else. In Yosemite, now there is.
Otherwise, it's just for folks who like the Goth look, or whatever. But no matter how you want to look at it, it's a simple preference choice for the user who wants a bit of a different look. That's about all.

You're looking at plugin settings. A plugin setting is not an Ultrabeat sample. Wrong place. Look in:
/Library/Application Support/Logic/Ultrabeat Samples/
unless you've moved it elsewhere...

HTC Trophy Accessories - Please share what and where!

Evidently, Verizon does not really care about this missed revenue opportunity. I have yet to stop by a Verizon store (retail or partner) where there are any Trophy accessories in stock. That includes major cities like Tampa, Boston, and Atlanta. Shame on you. Thank goodness for Amazon.

Um, okay, Anthony... I hit your "Trophy" link and found a 2 Trophy batteries and an HTC backplate. Out of 73 items in the "Trophy Store", 3 are HTC/Trophy specific and the rest are DROID accessories and surplus.
Trolling the forums for unhappy Verizon customers is, I am sure, a thankless job. Here's a helpful hint. HTC, Case Mate, and several other companies carry skins, authentic/customized leather cases, and screen shields. It would be a lot less insulting to your Verizon customer to point them to a page with HTC, or Windows Phone stuff in inventory and not a bunch of DROID garbage. Again, no offense to you - not your decision to overcommit on undesirable DROID accessories.
In addition, I am thinking that you would get a much warmer reception in the Trophy and/or Windows Phone Forums if you could get your Executive Management Team to carry something more than DROIDS and iPhones, Not everyone likes, is going to like, will like, or has to like the DROIDS. And your decision to carry the iPhone seems to now be a big no-profit hardware deal that has done nothing but clog our network with Angry Bird players and questions to Siri. Nice going. Difference here, Anthony, is that we DO know who to blame for this screw-up. Let the guilty parties know that they need some Nokia, HTC and Samsung Windows Phones added to the inventory. Is that an icon one the Navigation Toolbar or possibly on the Bookmarks Toolbar or do you mean the favicons (website icons) that appear next to a bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar?

.PAT is "Patch". It´s ususally put in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in and installed/updated using SPAM or SAINT.
since you didn´t tell anything about where you got it from and what you intend to do with it we can´t help.

But after talking with able it seems I can roll the pictures around, from all the strange places that pictures might be sent to and returned from, including to the camera roll. So at the moment i figure that it is a place where I can save pictures, return pictures, and save pictures. Not albums, not photo stream, not recently recovered, not recently downloaded, just llike a camera, but I understand that I can return pictures to the camera if I want to save them or show them to anyone if my device is off line. What and Where is the basic photo format and size info????

I am new at this but an experienced graphic designer.
I work in print often so I take high resolution images. Using still photos I want to make movies with titles and effects, music that are emailable and facebook friendly. Do I need to down size photos before importing them to IPhoto. My project will have around 30 photos.
Is there a place I can go to get this basic info, it was not covered on Apple tutorial.
Do you think any of the manuals that we have to purchase will discuss this issue? Gripe, why does mac give you a program without a manual!!!

the Apple intended workflow is, that stills are managed in iPhoto, and iMovie 'picks up' from there.
this workflows guarantees to some extend a compatibility to iMovie.
iM will not accept 'raws' or CMYK.psd - jpeg, pic, tiff preferred.

What (and where) is .dat0283.000 in Snow Leopard?

My MacBook Pro (5,1--late 2008; 15") running Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.8) has been very slow lately so I ran a program called EtreCheck. What it reports (among other things) is that .dat0283.000 and .dat03c4.000 are invalid. I used Spotlight to search for the first one, but it couldn't find it. I then searched the Internet (using both google and duckduckgo) but had no luck there either. Now I need help from the Apple Community. Are either of those, or both, the cause of the slowdown (or perhaps .swp, which is also listed as invalid)? If so, how would I delete them? Even Safari won't open messages!
"net.infinite-labs.SIMBLEnablerForSandboxedApps.plist" is listed as "failed" and there's a message 'Time Machine information requires OS X 10.7 "Lion" or later" which doesn't bother me as much. I use SuperDuper for backups.
Would greatly appreciate some help! Especially as I need to see messages in Safari, not having an ISP e-mail. The person who owns the place I live in is using that one.

OK I have several email address's. I click onto an email inbox. It shows the emails that have arrived. With the cursor highlite an email. Right click and a menu is shown. Open message in new tab, Move to, Mark, and so on including, Inbox again. If you click this the email disappears. Where has it gone?
