What Apple could do to unlock my iphone which I bought last year with the option at

I bought an iPhone 4 about a year ago at the Apple store in the Florida Mall in Orlandoin the form of no plan at & t and now I see the option of iphone unlocked factory, whatcould we do that we have a year ago to apple or at & t unlocked and can be used inother countries without the need to jailbreak or make changes to the original operating system?

Apple cannot unlock an iPhone on their own initiative; only the carrier can authorize an unlock. AT&T has not as of yet announced any plans to unlock an iPhone that was purchased as locked to them. Whether or not they will do so in the future, only AT&T would know, and they probably will not say unless and until they're ready to make an official announcement.

Unlocking an iPhone which was bought outright

Hi -
I would like to sell my iPhone 4 on eBay, but as I bought it outright with no contract, will I have to pay to get it unlocked?
I have an O2 SIM card in it at the moment, but does that mean the person who buys it on eBay will have to unlock it to use it with a SIM of their choice?

The unlocking process have to be done by you since you are the O2 subscriber.

If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

What do you mean? Your only way to unlock that phone is to have had 40 days continuous service with T-Mobile and then process the unlock through them. If you had an account with T-Mobile you should be able to login and process your unlock. If you did not you can click on the chat program but they are going to tell you the same thing.

Apple still haven't unlocked my iPhone

I've bought the iPhone 3G for full price, unlocked to use with any carrier. Since my carrier didn't have unlocked one in stock (unlocked at Apple via S/N), they offered me a locked one (for full price) with the caution that I will have to wait around 24 hours to get it unlocked. That means, carrier has to send the S/N of my iPhone to Apple to get it unlocked via iTunes. This is normal, since carriers do not have rights/software to unlock iPhones themselves. So I agreed.
It's now about 40 hours and Apple still has not unlocked my iPhone, I've tried to connect it to iTunes many times now and then. iTunes says my SIM/carrier is not supported.
Bought at T-Mobile, S/N 82832Y3Y7H, but I want to use it with Orange SIM. T-Mobile can't do anything for me now since they have sent my S/N to Apple and there's nothing for me to do.
How much time do I have to wait?

Yes, I understand that. Unfortunately, there is no e-mail support on Apple website whatsoever. Only telephone contact. Waiting 20+ minutes on support line would cost me about as much as is the price of new unlocked iPhone (calling from Europe).
So if someone have some support email availble, let me know.

I had the same problem. Kept getting message of waiting for activation or check network connections. I also tried every solution out there and nothing worked. This did though: I download the newest version of itunes (through Internet Explorer - Google Chrome wouldn't work). It pulled in my entire library thank goodness and then I plugged my iphone 4s into the computer. I let itunes find it, did a complete backup in icloud, then did a restore. Entire process took a couple of hours, but I now have imessage and facetime back. I was about ready to give up on Apple and go get a different phone ~

It sounds like you are talking about an iPhone that has been Activation Locked. This article explains:

If so, the iPhone can never be unlocked without the original Apple ID and password. This is an anti-theft measure.

Possible causes:
1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
2. Your phone is jailbroken.
3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer.

Note that if the phone came from a different country, it can not be serviced or replaced in India. It can only be serviced in the country where it was originally sold.

If both accounts are authorised on the computer's iTunes that you sync them to, and the relevant apps are on that computer, then you should be able to sync them to both devices. The apps will be tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded them, so only that account will be able to download updates to them.
