  • Opening Safari for Mac Web Archives in Safari for Windows???

    I need to open Safari for Mac Web Archives (saved html web pages on a Mac) on my Windows PC at work. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this? The original Web Pages are no longer available and the data in the Archives is the only set left.
    I've tried opening the files with Safari for Windows but that doesn't work. I've also tried renaming the web archives from file.webarchive to file.html and that doesn't work either.
    Does anyone out there have any suggestions for accomplishing this task??? Thanks in advance for your help!
    YV

    If you can move your archives to a Mac I think you can convert them to folders with Webarchive Folderizer and then move back to your pc:

    Yes, the ColorPicker would be great, except as far as I can tell there's no way to assign names to the colors in my custom data provider. The user needs to know the name of the color (eg. P01 - Wisteria), but the ColorPicker only shows the hex values. Unless there's a way to change that?
    Repasting the two code chunks from above, which didn't display properly:
    Works, but doesn't show swatches:
    TileList.addEventListener(Event.CHANGE, changeColor);
    var colorBox:ColorTransform = new ColorTransform();
    function changeColor(e:Event):void{
       colorBox.color = tileList.selectedItem.data;
       box_mc.transform.colorTransform = colorBox; }
    Shows swatches, but doesn't work:
    var aBoxes:Array = new Array(); var i:uint = 0;
    var printColorHex:Array = new Array(0xfac9c2, 0xFF0000, 0x0000CC, 0x00CC00, 0xFFFF00);
    var printColorNames:Array = new Array("R-01 Pale Coral", "Cranberry", "Sky", "Forest", "July");
    var dpPrintColors:DataProvider = new DataProvider();
    for(i=0; i < printColorHex.length; i++) {
         aBoxes[i] = new MovieClip();
         drawBox(aBoxes[i], printColorHex[i]);    // draw box w next color in array
         dpPrintColors.addItem( {label:printColorNames[i], source:aBoxes[i]} );
    aTl.dataProvider = dpPrintColors;
    function drawBox(box:MovieClip,color:uint):void {
                 box.graphics.beginFill(color, 1.0);
                 box.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, 140, 60);
                 box.graphics.endFill();

    Thanks!  But seriously why have Apple disabled the info sync on iTunes?  By 'Upgrading' to Mavericks I've inadvertantly disabled my Apple mobile devices from fulfilling their function.  Come on Apple work with us here!!
    Apple told developers they were removing that service over two years ago. The developers that depended upon it should have done something about it.
    Why did they remove it? My guess is because it was pretty crappy, was difficult to maintain, and wasn't a good solution for multiple devices that could get the info without tethering to a "base" Mac.

    Software update will only bring you up to the current level of the system you are using - you are at the maximum for Snow Leopard. To get Lion or higher you will have to go to the Mac App Store in Applications and purchase it there (Yosemite is free). You will need to check that your Mac meets the requirements and you should particularly note that PPC programs such as AppleWorks will not run in Lion or above.
    The requirements for Lion are:
    Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
    Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price (though it's reported to have been removed from sale in some countries so may well cease to be available generally) but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Yosemite (10.10.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
    The requirements for Mountain Lion and Yosemite are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
    MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
    Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
    Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
    Yosemite is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications). Mountain Lion can be obtained the Online Apple Store. (Mavericks is no longer available.)
    If the problem is only with Safari and you are otherwise happy with Snow Leopard you could switch to FireFox (free) - the latest version of that will run in Snow Leopard.

  • What do I need to open a document ending in " .pub"

    What do I need to open a .pub document?  Thanks, Jane

    You need Micosoft Publisher.
    I have seen a suggestion that you can send a .pub file here
    https://www.pdfonline.com/convert_PDF.asp.
    to get it converted for free to pdf if it is less then 2MB. Bigger files need to be payd
    The link works but I have not tested the conversion.

  • New Message, reply, or forward window does not open in Outlook for Mac 2011

    New Message, reply, or forward window does not open in Outlook for Mac 2011
    Outlook acts as if I am pressing a dummy button.

    Hi friends,
    I have the same problem.
    Mountain Lion + Office 2011 + Safari 6.1.2 (8537.74.9)
    It is not clear to me what is the relation between Safari and this problem.
    I have Chrome installed as well and it is set as default browser. Is this involved?
    If yes how can I solve the problem?
    Please let me know.
    Many thanks.
    Best regards

  • Do I need to open ports for NTP?

    I just noticed that my hwclock was off by nearly 30 seconds. It's almost certainly due to the recent initscripts update.
    As I was looking into resetting the clock, I found out that openntpd is deprecated so I've switched to ntp, configured the daemon, reset the time with ntpd -q, and started the daemon. The time is not accurate again.
    I remember back when I first installed Arch I tried to set up ntp but it didn't seem to work, so I tried openntpd and stuck with that. I reached the conclusion that ntp required open ports, which I felt was unnecessary given that openntpd could do the same thing without open ports.
    Now that I'm looking at it again, I can't find any definitive answer...
    Do I need to open ports for ntp if I only want to sync the system that it's running on?

    ISC ntpd (the ntp package) will open UDP 123 on all your interfaces regardless of what you do with it. It will work anyway even if you block this port in iptables, assuming that you're allowing responses to established traffic as usual - your outbound mobilization requests to your chosen servers will be enough to allow the responses, and the same with further traffic sent for the lifetime of ntpd. Using iptables like this is probably the easiest way to secure ntpd.
    There's also some defense in depth you can do:
    - run ntpd as non-root
    - run it chrooted to some safe directory (really only makes sense when doing non-root as well, since root can break out of a chroot)
    - apply ntpd's built-in access controls (see examples in ntpd.conf, and full docs in ntp_acc(5))
    I accomplish the first two of these by chowning /var/lib/ntp (and any contents) to ntp:ntp (so ntpd can write ntp.drift there when non-root), by using a driftfile path relative to the chroot in ntp.conf, and by setting NTPD_ARGS="-g -i /var/lib/ntp -u ntp:ntp" in /etc/conf.d/ntp-client.conf.
    For the third, I chose to not allow any remote traffic to initiate anything with my ntpd, with this /etc/ntp.conf:
    server ac-ntp0.net.cmu.edu iburst
    server ac-ntp1.net.cmu.edu iburst
    server ac-ntp2.net.cmu.edu iburst
    server ac-ntp3.net.cmu.edu iburst
    server ac-ntp4.net.cmu.edu iburst
    restrict default nomodify nopeer noquery
    restrict 127.0.0.1
    driftfile /ntp.drift
    Note the two "restrict" lines. The first shuts out remote access of most kinds, and the second allows the local machine all the access that would also be denied to it as well otherwise by the first rule. Note also the driftfile path, relative to the chroot of /var/lib/ntp/.
    With all these security features, ISC ntpd can be just as safe as openntpd.
    The use of the "iburst" keyword on the server lines to recover more quickly from out-of-contact conditions is also quite nice, and not rude to the remotes like "burst" would be.
    One of the nicest other features of ISC ntpd is that it's smart enough to notice when network state changes occur, like bringing a VPN up/down, changing routes, or switching from wired to wireless and back. openntpd tended to just lose connections in these cases.

    I want to watch rojadirecta In my iPad but I don't know what application I need download to watch it

    Do a search at the App Store, there may be an app for this.  If the videos are flash and you don't find a special app that displays the video on an iPad, then there isn't a way to view the shows.  iPad does not support flash.

  • What is the best CRM to integrate with Outlook for Mac 2011?

    Hello,
    I am rather new to Mac and need to employ a CRM for a new small business. After reading reviews we deciding on using Salesforce.com, since it is web-based and seemed to be the best option for mac users. However, now that we have subscribed to it we have discovered that it does not integrate with Outlook for Mac 2011.  Even after inquring on third party apps and plug-ins, it does not appear there is a solution.  MailDrop only works with Entourage and MacMail, which we don't use, or want to use.  iHance and Riva seemed liked possible choices, however they do not support Salesforce Group Edition, which is what we have.  Changing our subscription from Group to Professional edition is a huge jump in price per month.  Plus we would most likely need to pay for a monthly app/plug-in fee.
    Bottom line, we want to keep using Outlook for Mac 2011 and use an effective CRM.  Any constructive advice is welcomed:
    Any third party apps, plugins, work arounds that I may not have mentioned?
    Any other suggestions for CRMs that integrate well with Outlook for Mac 2011?
    At it's simpliest level, is there a way to export contacts from Outlook for Mac 2011 into our Salesforce account?  If so, I want to make sure to avoid loading duplicates in the future.
    Thank you.

    Well, "feeling your pain" is almost cliche at this point.  I imagine every MAC deployed business out there is not completely happy with the SalesForce answer.  As a user, the perfect world is to keep using Outlook, have it be a powerful CRM - and not have to leave the MAC OS environment.....
    I can tell you the direction I am going in, but I don't have any results as yet.  I found a link from a MAC developer that has figured a stable way to do this.  With the use of "Parallels" and "MS Dynamics CRM", there may be light at the end of the tunnel.  Essentially, you can now have a powerful CRM - without having to leave MS Outlook - and still use your MAC.  As I said, I will have to try it myself to comment further, but at least it is one realistic answer to keeping your MAC in the business world.

    Since yesterday all my usual .xls files will not open (Office for Mac 2011). CAN open .xlxs files. Default 'open with' is Microsoft Excel.app. No software updates done yesterday or the day before (or maybe a Silverlight or an Acrobat one by accident?). Have repaired disc permissions. HHD name is still same as it always was. What next? Thanks
    PS I'm not a great techie so assume I don't know what you're talking about!

    You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this,boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type:  ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

  • How to open shared calendar in Outlook for Mac 15 (Office 365)?

    A colleague in my organisation has created a calendar in a different version of Outlook and shared it with me, but I am unable to access it. What am I missing?
    I have tried:
    Select Calendar
    Click Open shared calendar
    Search for the person's name. They appear in the list.
    Select and click open. I get a popup saying "Outlook was redirected to the server secure.autodiscover.... to get new settings for your account (email address of person I selected). ..."
    Tick "Always use my response for this server" and click "Allow". The same popup appears.
    Again I tick "Always use my response for this server" and click "Allow". I get a popup saying "Outlook cannot open the folder. You do not have permission to open this folder. Contact (sharer's name) for permission."
    Also, this colleague has triggered a share invitation email.
    This contains an XML file that I cannot open with Outlook.

    Hi,
    According to your description, I notice that Outlook for Mac for Office 365 cannot open shared calendar.
    If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
    Which account are you used, Exchange account or Microsoft account?
    Would you please login OWA and test to open this shared calendar?
    Outlook for Mac cannot open the shared calendar which is a sub-calendar, you have to ask calendar owner share all calendars under the default "Calendar" folder.
