when I try to download the app, I get a Launch Application window that says:
this link needs to be opened with an application. Send to CreativeCloud(URIHandler)
below I could click on Remeber my choice for aam links. I don't even know what that is.
please help, I was able to transition from the trial inDesign and Photoshop without going through this step.

Thanks Kurt. We are attempting to find the cause of the notorious two-minute spinning beachball delay. Not sure if you are aware of this problem, but it holds up Finder, Adobe InDeisgn, and other applications for two minutes while it is waiting for a response from a windows server. It shows in the log as:

Very frustrating. While Lion seems to have fixed the issue for some users, EMC is telling us that Lion will not play nice with the Celerra share we use.

How do you find out what application is generating a plist file in your preference folder?

I have had two similar warnings come up in Drive Genius 3, a program that I use to manage my drives. The warnings occur during a daily verification of preferences on my main drive, a 256GB SSD.
They state:
"The preference file at '/Users/me/Library/Preferences/com.analogsolutions.Football.plist' may be corrupted."
"The preference file at '/Users/me/Library/Preferences/org.machinedevelop.National.plist' may be corrupted."
Per Drive Genius' advisement, "Corrupted files can cause appplication crashes and should be moved to the Trash." I delete the files, however they are regenerated each day.
Q: How do you figure out what application is generating a preference file? And is there a way to tell if this is a OS generated preference file?
I have searched online and cannot find any information about either Analog Solutions or Machine Develop nor am I able to discern what these particular .plist files are for...
Q: Are these two .plist files truly potentially harmful?

Hi Everyone, sorry for the late response. I have been monitoring my Preferences Folder; every moment I am on my computer trying to catch what application/process generates these files. I was hoping to try your suggestions, but oddly enough the offensive .plist files have not returned since the last time I deleted them about a week ago.... strange...
In any case, I have responded to some of your suggestions and questions that I have information on:

Unfortunately I do not know for certain. Though from all my login/startup/reboot tests I believe that they are not directly linked to starting up the machine or loging in either.
I'm not really certain why the .plist have not returned. I haven't uninstalled any programs, though I did run a couple updates for some widgets within the last week; however that was about 3 days after I deleted the last set of .plist files and usually they reappered everyday. In any case, given that they have not been regenerated I guess my problem is solved per se, at least I am no longer getting that annoying warning everyday. Still, it's a bit of a mystery

There is no way to trace the source of a saved photo.
You might have some luck if you search through the Safari web site history available via the Bookmark icon.

OK, I've got Squeezeserver running now. For anyone interested, most files are automatically installed under /opt/share/squeezecenter, which seems fine. I had to move the files/directories that Optware installed under /home/slimserver to /opt/share/slimserver and edit /opt/etc/squeezecenter.conf to change the references from /home/slimserver to /opt/share/slimserver.
That allowed Squeezecenter to be started and retained all the runtime files across the NAS restart.
Then I had problems getting it to autostart after the NAS boots. I tried the example under the Cisco tech note about 'add your own entries to crontab', to create an autorun.sh script to issue the start command, but could not get it to work.
Then I found this link http://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Install_Optware_IPKG and pretty much followed the instructions in the 'Running /opt/etc/init.d/* on startup' section. I'm no Linux expert, but I managed to get it working, without necessarily fully understanding it!
So finally Squeezecenter is running and autostarts - but hopefully Cisco will release an official add on in the near future.

Okay, so I just got a iMac, and I'm verrry new to them (I know nothing about them). I'm pretty sure its a g5 powermac and it has Mac OSX. I'm trying to install a Netgear N300 Wireless USB adapter (its a WNA3100). I tried to run the installment cd but it said "an application has not yet been chosen to run this, which would you like to choose). I've tried everything! What application should I use? I was looking over the files in my AW application folder. Quite a few say (in Get Info) that they should be opened with a very old OS 9 game application I happen to have. And also the "Kind" is listed as a document for that same game. That's not right. What Application should I select instead? The path to these files is: AppleWorks 6, AppleWorks Essentials, Translators, Data_Viz Carbon, Translators, and then the files. Some examples of these files are AppleWorks SS 5.0, Excel 97, and Word 5.0-Mac Win.

You do not need to open these files directly. They are used by AppleWorks to translate documents from and to other applications, and you can't do anything with them directly. The claim that they can be opened with some game application is simply the Finder not recognizing them and making a wild guess.

.xpi is the extension for Firefox extensions (add ons), not safari, which is looking for .safariextz. You are downloading the extension for the wrong browser. I did give you a link to download the safari version above. Here it is again.
Of course if you are using FF then you have the .xpi so drop it on FF add ons window to install it in FF.
You didn't originally specify which browser you are using so I just assumed it was Safari.
And if it is neither FF or Safari then Ghostery has extensions for a wide variety of other browsers. See here.
