What are Apple doing to compensate for the damage caused by the iPhone 4 bumper?
I have noticed damage caused by the bumper.
It is NOT foreign object but caused by the hard plastic on the inside of the bumper
(plese do not come out with rubbish like steel is harder than plastic) I am not stupid and I know that the damage matches the pattern of the bumper skeleton.
What I want to know is when are Apple going to deal with this and replace my phone?
I dare not go to the so called Genius bar in Milton Keynes as they have adopted a Dixons style "fob off" attitude and I will become rather angry with them.

Yeah because you were there. Are you having some kind of relationship with the company? I think you sleep with an Apple under your pillow.
Finally I am a consumer who has paid for a product that is not living up to expectations. The plastic skelton is hard and abrasive (I know what that means as I went to School) Abrasion's are marking the product.
This is not the only time this has been reported and as such I have no issue with particles entering the bumber. This has happened from the start (when I used Apples stupid bumber case)
Please don't patronise or TROLL others threads.

Why does this happen?
What do other people do? (I can't go to sleep knowing there's a rogue album or song in my music. It's 2am now)
What do we tell apple so that they actually fix it. None of us want to pay £25 to have our own music.I am on the monthly payment plan because nobody at BT has told me there is any alternative!
Each year there I have a long, in-depth conversation with the person who sets up the contract for the next year but the gist of the thing is 'I'm not going to be paying more than [x amount] per month, am I? Because I can't afford any more'' and each year the person says that no, in fact I should be paying less... and then without notice and even with the bill saying 'We will continue to take....' a totally different - and higher - sum disappears from my bank account.
Then I go through the painful process of writing to complain about this, get some sort of sum refunded and then the payments go through at the level they should, with me paying any additional (usually small) amounts for usage over the allowance. Until contract end when we start all over again...
Even if the amount they seem to randomly decide on is based on some sort of forecast, this should not be happening as I am doing what they instruct me to do on the bill to keep my payments the same.
So something is going wrong, on many levels.
At no point have I been offered the sort of 'monthly billing' described here; maybe there is some reason I am not allowed it. Unfortunately 'whole bill' direct debit payment is beyond me. I really need to know what I will be paying each month and I need BT to correctly take that amount, as agreed, each month, from the get-go.
It shouldn't be that hard really! Does anyone from BT read these forums? Can somebody take this on and finally get this straight, please? -
The podcats app is a huge backwards step, what are apple doing about it?
I made an account here specifically to bring up the problem that the new podcats app is unbelievably awful.
Just take a quick look at the constant stream of 1 star reviews on the app store and it should become obvious that something is badly wrong.
I spent quite some time yesterday browsing hundreds of reviews of the app and the overwhelming response is not only negative but there are countless requests insisting that it just goes back to the old itunes integrated method and that the idea of a seperate podcats app seems like a step backwards.
Do apple in any way aknowledge this app is a problem? Surely they look at what their customers are saying about it, but so far noting but minor fixes to the most serious of flaws have been addressed (eating through a month of data in 1 day etc) .
In my opinion this is a much bigger issue than the whole apple maps thing, or at least it would have been if I did not discover an excelent third party (paid) podcats app.
I am not going to list every problem here as I am sure most are well documented, but on an OS that prides its self on its intuitive design and ease of use, just how in the world did it ever seem like a good idea to require people to use 2 seperate apps in order to download a piece of audio... and don't even get me started on the desgn...
The maps issue to me was no big deal as I rarely used it but this whole mess of an app has lost my confidence in apple software.
Does anybody else here feel let down by this sorry piece of software?

Why Apple does not provide for call block / blacklist function on iphone?
If Apple frowns upon jailbreaking the iPhone, why not AT THE LEAST endorse and make available third-party application that can provide a decent call block / blacklist function (like the Call Blocker for BlackBerry)?

Even if they do, a more cost-effective method is still the better option.]Have you asked your service provider if they offer any call blocking service? I know here in the USA, AT&T does, although they do charge $4.99/month for the service (it is part of a parental control package that allows control of both numbers that can be blocked from calling you, and numbers that your iPhone can call to).
On-phone black list apps typically work by using caller id info and looking it up against the apps own database of numbers you've entered. So your phone still rings at least once, as the phone needs to allow a brief connection for the app to get the caller id info before disconnecting a number flagged for blocking. There really is no way to truly block calls from the phone itself, you need your service provider to be on board with the idea, so they can dis-allow the call at the switch and truly block it from ever reaching your phone. -

I have been trying to solve this thing for a long while. If I drag and drop a picture on to iweb, it changes it to .png which is okay. However it also changes the file size, so if I upload a gif, jpeg or even a png in 90K it changes it to 668K every time, and the page loads soooooooo slow.
I'm getting really frustrated here. Almost can't show my webpage to anyone, it's just so slow.
Does anyone know how to solve this? I've tried everything regarding changing of image size, but iWeb just changes it back.
I was tipped off that you should rezise any image and not do anything to it for it to load faster, that kinda works, but is this the only way? In that case, iWeb is NOT functioning the way it's supposed to. Does anyone know when and if they are going to update this thing?
The URL is www.TUMYR.com, THANKSWhen you resize your images work in Pixels. Reduce the image to the exact size you want to see it on the screen and also change the resolution of the image from 300 down to 75. save the image as a jpg. This will work for sure!
Try this, not sure if it will help. Rather than drag and drop the image, you can place it from 'insert' on the top menu.

What are Apple doing to rectify the problem that the Wifi icon is greyed out and you can no longer get onto Wifi!!
This has happened on both iPhones I my household!!
It must be a problem with Apple as so many people seem to having the same problem.
I have tried resetting networks, resetting phone etc....nothing worksBroaden your perspective a bit. There are literally millions of phones out in the world without any issues at all. If you are reading posts on the internet about the ones with issues, then you would be left with the impression that they all have issues. Neither you nor I have data to support the existence of a widespread issue of this type.
Having said that, the only issue that matters is the one at hand; yours. Let's stay focused on that. Help is here and if we can't counsel you toward a software solution, then help will be available elsewhere, but at some cost to you. -
I have been waiting since months for the new IPad4G 64 Gbt. ON recommendation of Apple Support I have changed my IPad 4G last week in the hope that something was wrong with the firts one I bought.
The one I have now has the same problems. WiFi is working however 4G not at all. Apple what can I do? What are you doing for the thausands of German Apple fans who have bought a IPad4G and can not use it. We need a solution NOW. I´m working with this tool and need to be able to rely on it.

Flash has been used for more than just displaying videos. The Vote choice your daughter found is one of those flash type sites that will not display on iOS devices. There are now over 100 million iPads, and who knows how many more iPhones out there. Developers who want their content to display on all these devices will have to move away from the old Flash technology.
There were some version of Flash that ran on other brands of tablets. But Adobe has stopped all development of Flash for all mobile devices. As time goes on and mobile operating systems evolve the no Apple devices will lose their ability to run Flash too. Web developers need to move on to cleaner, more efficient types of programming. -
OK, as always I waited before downloading a new OS and I'm sure glad I did. On the APP store I sorted comments by most critical...and WHOA...what is Apple doing? No support for Logic 9, MS Office? Is Apple only trying to reach the iphone/iTouch crowd? HELP! I was going to buy a new Mac pro & two 27" monitors but until I see some real problem addressing by Apple...I'll keep what I have and see how everything pans out. If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.

Linux copy the Mac Dock to make it looks like MAC! But what's Apple doing?
When I'm disappointed at PCs, it's not only because of Microsoft's Windows, but also millions of so-called different PCs only with the same Windows system inside. So I wanna to look for a new computer with unique features, I think Mac is the best choice I can never find. But now I'm annoyed that Linux are copying Mac from Mac Dock, and using some themes to make Linux look like a 'real' Mac!? Then what's Apple doing about it? Just standing by and making Linux themselves? Apple does not mind about it? Mac Dock isn't Apple's? If Linux are all with MAC OS X copying-features, then what's MAC OS X? Who will know, when millions of computer with a Mac Dock Linux, who will remenber that the DOCK is apple's? Maybe people will think: MAC OS X? just a Linux-outlook system! OH~GOD!! At that time what's the difference between MAC and Linux? And what's the difference between MAC and PC? Millions of computers with the same outlooking system as MAC? OH~NO!! I wanna Apple to give me a full answer about this!!

Apple may have patents and trademarks, but even if someone made a window manager that cloned os x's gui completely, it would not have the underlying power that goes with it. Linux is similar to Darwin, but osx's implementation of a gui is nearly flawless in my opinion. I am a linux admin by trade. I used to run linux desktops. i struggled for years to find a gui that worked well on linux, because I needed the power that goes with it from the command line / mem usage etc. Then enter my first mac purchase with a macbook pro I bought on the whim last year. Wait.. can it be true? A powerfully flexible freebsdish system (darwin) underneath a gui that is fast, efficient, and actually works?! Plus hardware that knock on wood in my luck rarely goes bad, plus rarely crashes unless it's a third party tool? Gasp and egads.
That is why Apple does not have to worry. I love linux. I love os X. Linux is making breakthroughs with desktop goals, but until they redo Xorg to not be the suck it can be, I will stick with my os X. As will most of the other linux / bsd geeks in my office who are mac converts (bout 6 of us overall, theres only roughly 10 admins besides myself that are technical).
It's not that they don't care. It's that for intents and purposes, it doesn't need to. -

Yesterday is the first time my finger got so painful I could no longer work on my project. I iced it to help numb the numbness, usally the pain subsides when I stay off my laptop for hours however when I start working on it the pain returns and you need your index and middle finger to work that laptop. This is the first time the pain had not gone away, 24 hours later. It feeIs like the tip of my middle finger has a giant splinter in it, very sore! I bought the first edition Macbook Air laptop 4 years ago and never had this problem with my index and middle finger, until I started working on my new Air.
Look at how many people are having the same problem. It can not be a coencidence. This problem has cost me the use of my finger and the high expense for this new MacBook Air. I'm going to my apple store tomorrow and show them how many people have this problem with numbness. I think this problem goes way beyond giving me a refund for this computer.
Any thoughts after reading other people having the same painful experience?
So What is Apple going to do with the new MacBook Air trackpad that creates numbness in your fingers?
PS: I know the trackpad is made of glass, so I covered my trackpad with a clear cover they sell to put on iphones however that did not slove anything. -
What is Apple doing about the "Unable to download" problems?
So, forgive me if these questions have been asked before. But I am new to Apple, just bought an iPhone about 2 months ago. I love my iPhone, but once you start getting into the world of the App store is where the problems seem to start flooding in. Specifically with the downloading and updating portion. Downloading is sometimes a breeze and sometimes a pain as is updating. Some days I have no problems downloading or updating apps. Other days I get error messages such as "unable to download" with an option of "done" or "retry."
The "done" option is worthless because if you select it, the app is still unselectable and will stay that way for days and the only way around it is to delete the app and reinstall if you can even reinstall it without having problems.
The "retry" option is also worthless because as soon as you select that option, not even a second later will the message "unable to download" pop up again.
Some days I get the error message that says something along the lines of unable to download without a wifi connection. That confuses me because there are plenty of times when I have downloaded apps without a wifi connection. So why is it that sometimes I need a wifi connection and other times I dont need it. Second, I am connected to a wifi connection right now and my app still wont update.
I dont know about you, but I sure as **** dont like seeing that red number 1 on my app store every day, but with the problems of updating apps sometimes im forced to just stare at it every time I unlock my phone.
So what is Apple doing about these problems?? Because I've seen alot of threads on this discussion board but they all seem to have the same answers, "turn off the phone then turn it back on" "download over a wifi connection" "delete the app and re install"Have you called Apple tech support or visited an Apple Store to ask for assistance with the problem? If not, then you really haven't even given Apple the opportunity to assist you with this problem. This is not happening to every iPod touch by any means, so it's most likely an issue with your particular unit. Try the usual steps: restart, reset, restore.

The Bluetooth on my 2012 Lexus doesn't work with my iPhone 5. My old android worked perfectly with my car. Even the tech specialist at Lexus couldn't get it to work. Lexus said that other iPhone 5s were having the same problem. What is apple doing to fix this?
Going to the local Apple store this morning...
My problem is not uncommon as the board is showing signs of this happening to many others as well. That is where I found the restore and reboot information to try to solve the issue of crashing apps.
I understand that Apple will not "give away the cow", but letting iPhone users know that the problems they are having are being addressed by Apple is a little more comforting than nothing at all. Other wise, all the apps in world are useless and even more importantly worthless, if a person has to reset/reboot/reload just to get them to work.
IF Apple can not address the basic problems with todays iPhone apps, why should one believe that the iPhone 3.0 OS is any better? Using a PC comparison, which is better, XP or Vista. If the current iPhone OS of 2.2. what ever is not working that well (as related to down loaded apps and iTunes), will OS 3.0 be any better?
The waste of time I refer to is in going to the apps store and downloading the apps... Again why by apps if the free version does not work?
