    Hi,
In addition to what Ken said, I would suggest that you give Edge Animate a shot as well.
Creative Cloud is available as trial version for 30 days and almost all creative software is bundled with the Creative Cloud. Tutorials are included for each of the products on the respective sections of the website. For instance, this site Website builder | Download free Adobe Dreamweaver CC trial gives you access to the trial version as well as tutorials.
I suggest that you go to http://creative.adobe.com and explore the various options available.
For any purchase related information, feel free to send me a private message if you need further clarification. Click on my picture and use the message option. The experts on this forum can help you with other questions you have on using Creative Cloud.
    Thanks,

  • Discount for High school students

I think it's really cool that college students get discount for spotify but it would be great if high school students could get the same thing , it would be amazing to being playing music wherever we want for a low price and since I find spotify better than pandora. $5 is extremely affordable for high school students and a lot would sign up for that price if that was an option

I am 17 and currently attending highschool as a senior.
I agree 100% $9.99 per month is kind of steep when you have a $9.10 /h job and paying for gas/insurance/food/housing/etc... I don't have anything handed to me at all. Sure my parent's will buy me a see's candy once in a while, but I am paying for most of my things now. My job pays for ~~ 90% - 95% of my necesities. that would leave me short.
    Here is a pitch:
Mind of a teenager ~ 10 dollars per month would add up to 120$ per year I use this.... that's a problem.
    -after the fact-
Mind of a teenager ~ $5 per month!! omg that's only $60 per year! sure I'll pay for that.
Honestly I would garentee you my 5$ per month if I had access to premium. $10 is just too much.
I can tell you that I know many highschoolers who would agree with my point and say that the sales would be exponential.
    talking business:
I would expect (based on comments and suggestions from friends and information of who I know as a highschool would also subscribe) expecting 30,000 highschoolers per small state and 50,000 highschoolers per large state.
currently to me it seems only 5,000 or 10,000 highschoolers per state own spotify. (most people lie about information on "free sites")

  • Promotion for high school students?

Is there any promotion or sale for High School students? How does it work? Thanks.

The back to school promotion is for college students or teachers of any grade.  The easiest way of thinking about it is that you have to be 18 to take part in pretty much any sort of sales promotion.  That rules out most high school students.

  • Flash for High School Student?

I am an animation teacher and we might have to switch from teaching a 3D program to teaching Flash. Is this a valid program to teach high school students animation? Is this only used for gaming or is it also used in the animation world? Any recommended website references?

flash is not a 3d modeling program.
it can be used to create 2d animation and to display 3d animation.
because of its animation capabilities, it can be used to create web, desktop and mobile games.  because of its support for a programming language (actionscript), it can be used to create web, desktop and mobile applications.
and, my guess, is most games and apps use some programming and some of the drawing tools in flash.

  • What are Best Practice Recommendations for Java EE 7 Property File Configuration?

Where does application configuration belong in modern Java EE applications? What best practice(s) recommendations do people have?
By application configuration, I mean settings like connectivity settings to services on other boxes, including external ones (e.g. Twitter and our internal Cassandra servers...for things such as hostnames, credentials, retry attempts) as well as those relating business logic (things that one might be tempted to store as constants in classes, e.g. days for something to expire, etc).
    Assumptions:
We are deploying to a Java EE 7 server (Wildfly 8.1) using a single EAR file, which contains multiple wars and one ejb-jar.
We will be deploying to a variety of environments: Unit testing, local dev installs, cloud based infrastructure for UAT, Stress testing and Production environments. **Many of  our properties will vary with each of these environments.**
We are not opposed to coupling property configuration to a DI framework if that is the best practice people recommend.
All of this is for new development, so we don't have to comply with legacy requirements or restrictions. We're very focused on the current, modern best practices.
Does configuration belong inside or outside of an EAR?
If outside of an EAR, where and how best to reliably access them?
If inside of an EAR we can store it anywhere in the classpath to ease access during execution. But we'd have to re-assemble (and maybe re-build) with each configuration change. And since we'll have multiple environments, we'd need a means to differentiate the files within the EAR. I see two options here:
Utilize expected file names (e.g. cassandra.properties) and then build multiple environment specific EARs (eg. appxyz-PROD.ear).
Build one EAR (eg. appxyz.ear) and put all of our various environment configuration files inside it, appending an environment variable to each config file name (eg cassandra-PROD.properties). And of course adding an environment variable (to the vm or otherwise), so that the code will know which file to pickup.
What are the best practices people can recommend for solving this common challenge?
    Thanks.

    HI Bob,
As sometimes when you create a model using a local wsdl file then instead of refering to URL mentioned in wsdl file it refers to say, "C:\temp" folder from where you picked up that file. you can check target address of logical port. Due to this when you deploy application on server it try to search it in "c:\temp" path instead of it path specified at soap:address location in wsdl file.
Best way is  re-import your Adaptive Web Services model using the URL specified in wsdl file as soap:address location.
    like http://<IP>:<PORT>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel<xirequest>
or you can ask you XI developer to give url for webservice and username password of server

  • Which is better iPad or Mac for high school students?

I just took SHSAT and my mother promise me that I will get one that I wish if I get in. I did not want to waste that wish and use it on others wastable stuff. So I was thinking that Apple device would make great studying for me in High School. I have iMac but Macbook air is portable and ipad is portable. Both of them are really good. I don't know what to choose. If you can't decide as well, please suggest what should I get. And Please do not tell me I won't go in to spealized high school because I already have a lot of stress.

MacBook Air is the best of both worlds.
The instant on and fast response of an iPad, but has the full size keyboard, full OS X and expandablity of a Mac computer.
The MacBook Air is almost as light as an iPad, but is much more flexible.

  • What are best exports settings for project that will be shown on large screen?

I'm working in AE CS6 and am preparing a two-minute video using type animations and some still cartoons and some still photography. The client will eventually show it through his computer on a large screen to a group of people. What's the best settings in the render queue to output this so it shows pristinely? I'm thinking a Quicktime movie output as Animation but I really don't know. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Animation Quicktime is NOT the way to go. This codec will only playback in real time reliably on a super computer. You need to pick a good distribution format that will stick around. PICK H.264. Read on...
If by large screen you mean a really big TV then make a standard HD 1920 X 1080 comp at 29.97 fps and render using the Adobe Meida Encoder. You can put your Animation Codec Quicktime in the AME if you like but I think there are better DI formats (Digital Intermediate). Pick h.264 as the format and pick the Vimeo or YouTube HD preset and jack the data rate up to 40 or even 50 and enable Multi Pass rendering. You will have a file that will playback smoothly on any modern system, even from a newer iPad or other tablet.
If you mean a 4K display then use the same technique but create your 4K composition using the standard 4K display size of 3640 X 2160 and use the YouTube 4K preset.
You can jack up the data rate for that preset also but don't go above 50.
This will give you a file that is technically as good or better than you would get with a fiber connection to a 4K broadcast. How the project looks when played back will depend on how good you are at choosing the right techniques for your animation and color grading taking into account the color space you're working in, the gamut of the display, and the motion of animated elements as it relates to frame rate. (Hint: that's why I said to choose 29.97 as the frame rate because animating illustrations and text to look good on a big screen is a lot more difficult at 24 fps than it is at 29.97 and you don't need 60fps because what you gain in the elimination of judder you loose in the addition of compression artifacts when the data rate is the same.)
One last piece of advice. Obsessing about the quality of your playback format to achieve the MAXIMUM result is for the most part a huge waste of time and energy. Get the color right and tell the story well and avoid juddering animations and you'll blow the audience away even at 10 or 12 Mbps HD. 90% of all quality issues in rendered animations that I've seen are issues of design and animation technique, not issues of rendering with the wrong settings.

  • What are best free tools for a Oracle development DBA?

Hi, I have been production dba for years. I am familiar with full cycle of database installation, configure, backup recovery, etc.
Now my role is going to change to development dba soon. I have no problem to create instances. Then to the data modeling, data normalization, etc, what kind of tools I can use?
Any good suggestions or documents you can provide?
    Thanks in advance.

The only good tools for normalizing your database are you own intelligence, knowledge, and experience. A great place to feed your knowledge and borrow someone else's experience is in Ken Down's blog, The Database Programmer.
As for PL/SQL development tools, try SDDM's older sister, SQL Developer.

  • Is Mac a good computer for high school students

I was wondering if the MacBook Pro 13 inch would be a good notebook for me to have juring highschool and college

Yes if you don't mind the high glossy screen which is hard to see in class/outside and don't want to 3D game.
However if you want to see the screen while outside and under lights, windows etc., which you can't control, and/or 3D game, then the 15" anti-glare non-Retina is your model.
Also the 15" should last longer with it's more powerful dedicated graphics chip, less heat than the 13" too.
Less heat, less inhaled dust clogging up the machine causing it to die faster.

  • What is the best video converter for high quality MPEG-4 for Apple TV?

What is the best video converter for high quality MPEG-4 for Apple TV?

Handbrake won't convert AVI files, But there are many more than those mentioned that will
The choice of conversion software is a personal choice, I have around a dozen applications that will tackle AVI's, however VisualHub is not one of them, not because there is anything wrong with it but rather I have enough such applications in my arsenal already.
I would use mpegstreamclip in most scenarios for what you are wanting to do but maybe not always. It is a good idea to have a few applications to choose from as not all do the same thing. mpegstreamclip has a few more options than some bog standard applications without becoming overburdening with choices.
You might want to try a few applications yourself before deciding on the software for you. isquint is a free limited version of visualhub, you might want to give that a whirl to get a feeling for visualhub.
Be aware though that quality conversions do not happen quickly, claims of being faster than other applications may well be correct, but are usually a trade off against quality. Again you need to choose your software to reflect your preferred balance between speed and quality.
Here's how I use mpegstreamclip, http://web.me.com/gartside1104/z008/Mpegstreamclip.html but your AVI's may well be low quality, you shouldn't set the bitrate any higher than your source file and likely lower, you shouldn't increase the frame size either.

  • What are best practices for managing my iphone from both work and home computers?

What are best practices for managing my iphone from both work and home computers?

    Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers
Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. If they are the same you can go ahead and sync...
I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans withiTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entires and import the local content you have on that box.

  • What are the browser recommendations for best viewing iWeb 08 site on a PC?

What are the browser recommendations for best viewing iWeb sites on a PC? Can't find any info on Apple iWeb site.

    Hi,
I don't think there are recommendations from Apple.
What I can say is that the newest version of InternetExplorer at the UniversityCampus is working great with my website I didn't find any problem (Menus, Slideshows, text displaying, pictures everything worked great). There are IE problems reported in other threads but I think they refer to older IE versions (seems like most IE users still have older versions on their PCs).
    Newest Firefox will work too.
