I have asked to my Implementation Partner to implement Solution Manager with following details.
Maintenance Optimizer Configuration, Usage, Hands on and Training. Patching using Solution Manager.
a. Configuration Maintenance Optimizer
b. Installation of Software Lifecycle Manager u2013 SLM
c. Software Logistics Controller u2013 SLC
d. SLD Registration
e. Configuration for Transport Directory
f. Support Package Manager u2013 SPAM (Specially on SM)
g. Java Support Package Manager u2013 JSPM (Specially on SM)
h. Usage of MO and Demo
i. EWA Scheduling Using SM.
j. EWA Recommendations Implementation
Please let me know If I am forgeting any thing or needs to be configured for smooth running of our setup. What are thing to be configured??
Please also let me give a brief(in addition to notes) about Usage of SLC, SLM, SLD, Transport Directory and How it will help in transport management system.
Is it possible to apply patches from Solution Manager to all systems?

There are many features with Solution Manager EHP1 SP 04. See if you ask them to upgrade to latest level.
Also following more features are available. Depending on your company and your requirement you could configure it.

- CPH (Central Performance History)
- Job Management
- Project Administration

Mail configuration in SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1

Hi All,
I am working on SMTP (Mail)Configuration in SAP Solution Manager 7.1. And our mail host is GOOGLE APPS.
Does any one had configured mail in SAP for hosted on GOOGLE APPS?
Does SAP will support this as it is external (mail) server?
I read note 455140, related notes and configured accordingly.
Steps I followed:
1. parameters maintained:
icm/server_port_2 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180
is/SMTP/virt_host_0 = *:25000;
2. User maintained: Dialog user with S_A.SCON profile with user address as username@<companyname>.com
3.Client Assignment: (SICF): a. Host Data:Profile Parameter Number: is/SMTP/virt_host_0
b. Service data: Client 100, user: username, password: ***, language: EN.
c. Handler List: CL_SMTP_EXT_SAPCONNECT in the first position
Saved Changes n Activated.
4.SAPconnect administration (SCOT):
a. Default domain: <companyname>.com
b. Nodes: SMTP Under node:
Mail Host: smtp.gmail.com
Mail Port: 25 and also tried 587
In Internet Address Area: *
5.Scheduled periodic Job with SAP&CONNECTALL variant
6. telnet <HOSTNAME> 25000 is successful
In both cases I am getting error as:
No delivery to ishan.sangai@<companyname>.com, authentication required
Message no. XS853
Diagnosis
The message was processed successfully in the SAP system. The mail server that is supposed to receive the message for further processing requires authentication. The SAP system does not support this procedure. As a result, the message was not delivered to recipient ishan.sangai@<companyname>.com.
Information from External System
_530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. p1admin@<companyname>.com
Procedure
The administration settings must be changed. The specified mail server must not request authentication.
7. I tried to telnet smtp.gmail.com 25 and 587 also
I am getting following output:

Enter the logon data in the SAPconnect node.
Using Gmail SMTP server using "smtp.gmail.com" with port 587

Firstly, IS is meant for Industry Solutions which means the SAP Components are specifically developed for respective Industries, for example: IS-OIL, IS-MINING, IS-RETAIL, IS-SEM, is for Oil basin companies [Industries], Mining companies, Retail Industries, and SEM for Strategic Enterprise Management respectively.
So, the SAP Components which are required for CLIENT IMPLEMENTATION those can be dowloaded or purchased from SAP Service Market Place.

Settings for Quality Certificate for Raw material from vendor,
Activate QM Procurement key, enter qm control key with certificate and Enter certificate type in certificate field.
There are 2 cases,
u want details of certificate send by vendor
u want to record results and see inspection lot wise results.
case1
depending upon the certificate selected by u, system will give u warning or error msg for certificate confirmation at the time of gr. for confirmation QC51 t_code is used. here status has to be changed to 'filed and inspected' then gr will be allowed.
all these certificates can be dispalyed in QC55 T_CODE.
CASE2
U can record results and see in inspection report tab in QA33

Hi,
There are different ways to go in debugging mode.
One way is to go to the transaction and put /h + enter in the top blank space.
The other way is to but a breakpoint in your program.After you execute the program,it will stop at the breakpoint and go into debugging mode.
The thirdway is to write break-point in the code at a specific point.On execution it will stop at that point.
A fourth way is to write break (your user id).It will stop only for you and then you can debug it.

I read in SAP help that "sales orders, dependent requirements, reservations and so on..." are external requirements.
Is the demand from a production order considered external requirement?
Also what are dependent requirements here? & what kind of reservations are considered a part of external requirements?

In reorder point planning normally only stock is taken into consideration, meaning that replenishment is initiated when stock falls below the reorder point, and replenishment lot size is either a fixed quantity or up to a maximum stock level.
In some cases you may want to take into consideration also additional requirements; demand from production orders is a reservation, thus taken into account.

I need to create an App in English and 4 other languages for private distribution to individuals. What are the requirements for doing this please? I currently have a just a Single Edition license. Am I right in understanding I need a Cloud subscription and an Apple Developer subscription also?

My client desire is to only make their accessible to paying members requiring a sign–in before download. Does this fall into a private distribution deployment.
