What are Events in NWDS Enterprise Service Repository Perspective?

Hello Experts,
does anyone have further information about the artefact "Events" in the context of the attached picture?
As far as I know is it not the same as the events in process modelling. Furthermore you can't create an object of the type "Events".
When I'm accessing the ESR with the swing client there is no object like an Event (I've checked all subcategories).

hi Kamaljeet,
ESR is a meta data repository, meaning that it stores data that describes other data. The meta data inside the ESR is then used by development tools, modeling tools, operational management tools, and by other services to help them do their jobs. The ESR has also been given the job of storing descriptions of business objects and models that show how services work together in process components.
Perhaps the best way to quickly understand the ESR is to list all the different types of metadata stored in in and quickly explain how that data is used.
Type of data and How it is used as follows:
Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) files These files describe the service interfaces of enterprise services and are used by development tools and during run-time to look up interface definitions.
Business Object Descriptions Business objects are used in modeling to show what structures exist in an application that are implementing services.
Process Component Models This data describes models that show how enterprise services work together to implement business processes. These models show how a service is used and what business objects implement the service.
It is important to remember that services are not implemented in the ESR. The ESR holds descriptions of services that are then implemented in applications that are separate from the repository.

How to install Enterprise Service Repository

Dear Team,
We are in a process of implementing PI7.1. In this context, I need to know follwoing :
1. What is Enterprise Service Repository. Is it an Add-on to be installed on top of PI7.1 or a separate identity in itself. If it is an add-on where to get it from ?
2. Whereever I find ESR in Community/Download, I find it for Netweaver CE 7.1. Do I need to install Netweaver Ce 7.1 first for this ?
3. Do I need to install some corresponding component in my ECC 6.0 as well ?

Enterprise Service Repository in PI7.1 is nothing but Integration repository (of PI7.0).....it comes alongwith the installation of PI7.1....
3. Do I need to install some corresponding component in my ECC 6.0 as well ?
there is no need to install anything on SAP ECC....

Unable to Enterprise Service Repository and Intergration Directory in SAP PI 7.1

I am unable to open Enterprise Service Repository and Integration Directory in SAP PI. The error displayed while opening the tools is "Can not find Message File". I have tried installing Java versions from 1.5 to 1.7 .Also all the Host and Services files entry are correctly pasted in drivers--> etc--> folder. But still the problem persists... What are the settings for automatic service PO?

What are the settings for automatic service PO?

Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to automatically create the PR for services. It would be similar to MD04 but instead of being for stockable materials, it would be done for non-stockable materials (services in this case).
PR would be generated monthly, because this services have to be paid every month, for example electricity, water, rent, phone bills.
I hope you can help me, thank you!

hi there,
AFAIK there's no such thing as an enterprise service repository on ERP 2005 (NW2004s) and therefore no browser for that.
You have a BSP application WEBSERVICEBROWSER, which shows you all webservices (and webservice-ified entitities like RFCs, BAPIs) on your system.
And you have the XI integration repository with services defined on XI, which doesn't have such a nice browser (UDDI-like) feature.
I think we have to wait for the next NW release.

Does anyone know if the Enteprise Services Repository (ESR) is included in the Full Java Edition-Trial and/or Full ABAP Edition-Trial?

PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
Effect
Processing before the screen is displayed (PBO).
Examples
Initializing screen fields, inserting default values, positioning the cursor, showing and hiding fields and changing field attributes dynamically.
Variant 2
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
Effect
Processing after user input.
Examples
Checking values where there is no automatic check, processing the cursor position, processing correct entries or triggering an error dialog.
Variant 3
PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST.
Effect
POH event for user-programmed help. Modules in this event are processed when the user presses F1 with the cursor positioned on a screen field. Ans: As a EP administrator you have to take care of all all the issues regarding the:
1. Creation of Users, Groups, Roles.
2. Assigning the roles to the user.
3. Creating and managing the groups and assigning the users to grops.
4. Taking care of all the portal Object created. Checking of all the Portal related logs for insuring that all the portal services are working fine.
5. If there are some issues regarding the users data and there objects then you have to take care of that.
I guess you must be knowing that there are few roles that you need to have the full control of portal. You must these roles to manage all the administrative functions of the portal.
Ques 2. Also What are the activities of EP Administrator?
Ans: Well this question is more or less same as above. I cannot figure out what extra you want to know here. But also let me tell you about the KM related issues in Portal. There is one part of EP that is KM (Knowledge Management). This is related with the Knowledge sharing using the management of the documents and other resources which are stored in the server repository. By this functionality you can manage the document and can share your documents and relevant data with other.
One more thing is Collaboration, related to the collaboration of various members of the portal. Here you can configure IM (Instant Messsaging), Desktop Sharing, and various other features.

What are the differences between Oracle Service Bus 10g and WLI 10g?

To me both Oracle Service Bus 10g R3 and Weblogic Integration 10g seem to offer the same functionalities for implementing an enterprise middleware.
I would be grateful if someone could:
1. provide me with the two products' differences.
2. describe what their roadmap is?
3. what are their positioning in the Oracle product catalog? Are they both members of Oracle SOA Suite? Fussion Middleware?

Eduardo: the answer to your questions are that all the flows will be short-lived but if we can make long-lived flows then we might consider developing them. We would need to persist the state of the flow somehow.
I understand that some of our requirements would be better accomodated by WLI or bpel but we don't have an option but only to use OSB.
So, do you think we could overcome the stateless nature of OSB by:
1. writing to appropriate tables and reading from there and calling plsql procedures from the flows
2. using JMS queues.
In detalis:
1. Regarding the writing/reading from Databases (in our case it would be oracle 10g R2 - probably RAC), is there something like a Database control in WLI, which we could use in OSB? What i have seen are using xquery execute-sql function or a JCA DB adapter but both of them seem to me not very easy to use. Is there another option?
2. Regarding the JMS, in case that i want:
a service that writes to a JMS queue what are the servicetype and transport that i should use?
a service that reads from a JMS queues what are the service type and transport that we should used?
Any information that you may share with me in the design and implementation of the above would be great.
