WHAT ARE MX or A records?

When an email is rejected as unreceivable, and the reason says there are no MX or A records for that address, what does that mean?

When you send email to a domain, such as mozilla.org, your email service will look up the domain to find out what server is supposed to handle the message. These are MX records.
If your mail service is telling you that no MX records exist, then some possibilities are:
* You made a typo in the email address
* A spammer listed you as the sender of some spam to a nonexistent account
* The recipient's account is in bad standing with its email provider
A records, also known as Address records, associate domains such as mozilla.org with web servers and other servers. If the MX records point to a server that doesn't have an A record, then that would be a second possible reason the mail wouldn't go through.

  • What are the right DNS records to host more than one site on OSX Server (ML). My conf in Server.app looks right but one of my sites lands on the default server. Any suggestion?

I started using OSX Server on Mountain Lion a few days ago and it looks promising.
I do however measure my ignorance in DNS matters...
I defined two websites in addition to the the Default Server, so I have three names to deal with.
    For argument's sake
    - www.main.com is the default site
    - www.sitea.com is the first site
    - www.siteb.com is the second site
I define a virtual host for www.sitea.com and another for www.siteb.com
The resulting apache conf is what I would expect, I am pretty sure it is correct.
So I modified my DNS entries (they were A records) to point to my new OSX Server.
    My result is:
    - www.main.com shows the default site
    - www.sitea.com shows the first site
    - www.siteb.com shows...the default site
    Any ideas?
    Cheers

    Thanks MrHoffman!
My problem ended up being a name but not in the DNS!...In Apache.
Your information allowed me to rule out possibilities and zoom in to the culprit faster.
I just report here the conclusion hoping it can help someone else.
When I installed OSX Server last week, I had in mind to principally run siteb.
During the initial install, this is what I must have entered and then forgot about it.
Then I defined my virtual hosts sitea and siteb and realised my machine was called siteb and changed its name to main to avaid a name collision. At which time I remember OSX Server telling me that changing the name could have consequences...But it apparently went ok, and it did except for one little thing.
    The consequence was this:
in the main configuration file /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/http_server_app.conf the ServerName directive had remained siteb (instead of main). I manually updated it with TextEdit (could do vi from bash, its the same) and replaced siteb with main.
There is a way to detect it.
In Server.app, there is a "logs" panel, which displays all sorts of logs for everything including the websites.
Each website's logs are presented as "access" and "error" logs. The information was there, but I could not see it because the viewing window in remarkably small for so much information in raw text...
web logs are actually written to only two files in /var/log/apache2 (error.log and access.log)
I openned two bash windows and run tail -f on error.log in one and tail -f access.log in the other.
When I started the web service, apache threw a warning stating from mod_ssl saying that the certificate did not match the serve name...I the certificate was what I expected, I checked http_server_app.conf and found the ServerName directive that was not changed when I renamed my server...
Easily fixed when its found, but it can take a while to find.
BTW, I was using A DNS records for and it works, but I find your method of using CNAME records documents the administrator's intent better than with A records; I started to do the same. (A records a useful though, they can run a domain across multiple machines)
    Cheers mate!

  • What are the main steps to be taken care while doing recording for LSMW

    Hi,

    Hi,
Recording in LSMW is similar as SHDB.
in LSMW after you give Project-Subproject and Object.
1)Go to-> Maintain Object Attributes -> double click
2)Press Display/Change Button at top left to make editable mode.
3)Select radiobuton -> Batch Input -> Give Recording name say Z_mm01
    4) Click the Recording Overview boton on right -> Give TCode which u want to record....
Rest refer the Document link attached.
Please find the links to various threads on the same.

Any body any idea what are future records in OM?
    Regards
    sas

    Hi,
I have not heard of any term called future record. But may be if some objects or relationship whose validity starts in future are called future records. To see those records in PPOSE click on "date and preview period" and give the date in future when the relationship exists, it will show up that in the structure.

  • What are the settings required for QM in procurement

    Hi Team,
What are the settings required for QM in procurement. I have  set indicator for QM in procurement in QM view in material master.
I am not clear about  following fields to be maintained in QM view.
    QM Control Key
    Certificate type
    Target QM system
    Tech. delivery terms Indicator.
Please suggest me in which case to be used this fiels. Is it relivant to Quality Certificates.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    All meaning are
    QM Control Key :
If you activate the indicator for QM in procurement in the material master record at the client level, you must also store a control key at the plant level for quality management in procurement.
    Certificate type :
Certificate types applies to the Certificate processing in procurement  &  Certificate creation
    Target QM system :
whether the vendor's verified QM system, according to vendor master record or quality info-record (for a combination of vendor/material) meets the requirements for QM systems as specified in the material master
    -  If you activate the indicator for QM in procurement in the material master record at the client level, you must also store a control key at the plant level for quality management in procurement. If you want Procurment control then accordingly define Control Key.
    -  If you want Vendor's perticular certificate for Material then you have to define Certificate type.
Also, you have to maintain Material, Vendor's Info record at plant level.
    Thanks,
    JM

  • What are the commonly encountered issue in Go-Live for GATP implementation?

    Dear All,
I am currently involved in a GATP implementation project.
I would like know that -
    1. What are commonly encountered GATP related problems during Go-Live?
[I have already prepared a list for the same. Some of the root causes are like -
        1. Incorrect strategy group maintained in the material master.
        2. During CIF model creation 'Availability Check' check box not activated.
        3. Availability check and allocation should be activated for the schedule line.
        4. Incorrect rule maintenace for RBA. (RBA04)
        5. Incorrect rule assignment for RBA. (AO11)
        6. Incorrect Check instruction.
        7. Incorrect Check control
        and so on.....]
    2. Is there any check list available in the forum for the same?
    Thanks & Regards
    Piyush Ranpura

    Hi Piyush,
    1) You definitely need to ensure that your OVZJ settings are as expected in the production system after go-live as it can lead to zero confirmations or incorrect confirmations if is is missed.
    2) Coming to Product allocation, hope you know that system cannot read "0" allocation figure and to counter the same, perhaps you may need to build a solution to make it as "-1" so that system understands it better
    3) In the area of ODLs, you will face issues with incorrect data being available in ODLs, this is caused because of some inconsistencies ( I am sure ODLs as a concept is not fully fool proof ). You need to schedule the program /SAPAPO/ODLR in the production system weekly or if the data is less schedule it daily
    4) It may also happen that the logistics team had introduced some new calendars and APO team is unaware of it and you may encounter issues in Scheduling. Try to make sure that the time streams are created correctly and at the same all the relevant route scheduling condition records are correctly maintained w.r.t the data in the source system.
    5) Do a test run on Availability check immediately after system goes-live. this will tell you if there is any problem with the RFC connection, Live cache errors etc.,
There could be many more apart from this.
    Hope this helps

  • What are the Mandatory Fields in Transaction ME51

    Hello Seniors,
I have a requirement about purchase order creation. In this process, I am using the BAPI named   " BAPI_PO_CREATE1 ". I have passed all the fields but when I debug and look into the internal tables, I couldn't find certain records. I even debugged " bapiret2"  and I see an error which reads "" All mandatory fields are missing"". I have even created a PO  in ME51 and found out the mandatory fields but in vain. BAPIRET2 still says, there are some more mandatory fields missing. I need to know what are all the mandatory fields to create a Purchase order using TCODE - ME51.
Your reply is most awaited and rewarded.
    Thanks and Regards,
    MARKIV

    hi ,
    Functionality
Function module BAPI_PO_CREATE1 enables you to create purchase orders. The BAPI uses the technology behind the Enjoy purchase order transaction ( ME21N).
Alternatively, the IDoc type PORDCR1 is available. The data from this IDoc automatically populates the interface parameters of the function module BAPI_PO_CREATE1.
    Functionality in Detail
    Authorization
The following authorization objects are checked when an Enjoy purchase order is created (activity 01):
    M_BEST_BSA (document type in PO)
    M_BEST_EKG (purchasing group in PO)
    M_BEST_EKO (purchasing organization in PO)
    M_BEST_WRK (plant in PO)
Controlling adoption of field values via X bar
For most tables, you can determine via your own parameters in the associated X bar in each case (e.g. PoItemX) whether fields are to be set initial, values inserted via the interface, or default values adopted (e.g. from Customizing or master records) (for example, it is not mandatory to adopt the material group from an underlying purchase requisition - you can change it with the BAPI).
    Transfer
    Header data
The header data of the Enjoy purchase order is transferred in the table PoHeader.
    Item data
The item data of the Enjoy purchase order is stored in the table PoItem (general item data). The delivery schedule lines are stored in the table PoSchedule.
Use the table PoAccount to specify the account assignment information. If account assignments have been specified for services and limits, you show the relevant account assignment line in PoAccount in the table PoSrvAccessValues via the package number of the service or the limit.
    Services and limits
Services, free limits and limits with contract reference can be specified in the tables PoServices, PoLimits, and PoContractLimits.
    Conditions
Conditions are transferred in the table PoCond; header conditions in the table PoCondHeader. Price determination is reinitiated via the parameter CALCTYPE in the table PoItem.
    Vendor and delivery address
The vendor's address can be specified individually in the table PoAddrVendor; the delivery address in the table PoAddrDelivery. If you do not make any individual specification, the fields will be populated via the central address managementfacility.
    Note
In this method, the following restrictions apply with regard to addresses:
Addresses can only be created with this method - they cannot be changed. You can only change address data with the method BAPI_ADDRESSORG_CHANGE.
When you create addresses, they are not checked by the method. An Enjoy purchase order may therefore contain faulty address data.
    Partner roles
The partners can be maintained individually via the table PoPartner (with the exception of the partner role "vendor").
    Import/export data
Import/Export data can be specified per item in the table PoExpImpItem. Foreign trade data can only be transferred as default data for new items.
    Texts
Header and item texts can be transferred in the tables PoTextHeader and PoTextItem. Texts for services are imported in the table PoServicesText.
    Version Management
You can make use of the Version Management facility via the table AllVersions.
    Return
The PO number is returned in the parameter ExpPurchaseOrder. In addition, all information except the service and export/import tables is placed in the output structures.
    Return messages
Messages are returned in the parameter Return. This also contains information as to whether interface data has been wrongly or probably wrongly (heuristical interface check) populated. If a PO has been successfully created, the PO number is also placed in the return table with the appropriate message.

Help in the Case of Problems
    1. Note 197958 lists answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs). (Note 499626 contains answers to FAQs relating to External Services Management.)
    2. If you have detected an error in the function of a BAPI, kindly create a reproducible example in the test data directory in the Function Builder (transaction code SE37). Note 375886 tells you how to do this.
    3. If the problem persists, please create a Customer Problem Message for the componente MM-PUR-PO-BAPI, and document the reproducible example where necessary.
    Customer Enhancements
The following user exits (function modules) are available for the BAPI BAPI_PO_CREATE1:
    EXIT_SAPL2012_001 (at start of BAPI)
    EXIT_SAPL2012_003 (at end of BAPI)
The following user exits (function modules) are available for the BAPI BAPI BAPI_PO_CHANGE:
    EXIT_SAPL2012_002 (at start of BAPI)
    EXIT_SAPL2012_004 (at end of BAPI)
These exits belong to the enhancement SAPL2012 (see also transaction codes SMOD and CMOD).
There is also the option of populating customer-specific fields for header, item, or account assignment data via the parameter EXTENSIONIN.
    Further information
    1. Note 197958 contains up-to-date information on the purchase order BAPIs.
    2. If you test the BAPIs BAPI_PO_CREATE1 or BAPI_PO_CHANGE in the Function Builder (transaction code SE37), no database updates will be carried out. If you need this function, please take a look at Note 420646.
    3. The BAPI BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL serves to read the details of a purchase order. The BAPI cannot read all details (e.g. conditions). However, you can use the BAPI BAPI_PO_CHANGE for this purpose if only the document number is populated and the initiator has change authorizations for purchase orders.
    4. Frequently used BAPIs for purchase orders are BAPI_PO_CREATE, BAPI_PO_CREATE1, BAPI_PO_CHANGE, BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL, BAPI_PO_GETITEMS, BAPI_PO_GETITEMSREL, and BAPI_PO_GETRELINFO.
    5. For more information on purchase orders, refer to the SAP library (under MM Purchasing -> Purchase Orders) or the Help for the Enjoy Purchase Order, or choose the path Tools -> ABAP Workbench -> Overview -> BAPI Explorer from the SAP menu.

  • My goals; what are my needs?

    Hello folks,
I currently have a MacPro and in many ways I regret the decision. I am a grad student but also I composer/musician. I have Logic Pro and I mainly use it to sketch out ideas for new works. I only use it to create demos and never mastered CDs. I know it is overkill, but I realize that now.
I am interested in some portability now as some of the people I work with live elsewhere and I want to bring my computer/interface/mics/etc to them and have them play on their particular instrument/vocal work for my compositions. I want to continue working with Logic Pro since that is what I'm used to now. What is the minimum laptop I can use to do some recording, location recording and some overdubbing? I use an Apogee Duet and I will never record more than two audio tracks at once.
Can I get away with an older model iBook or something? What are the requirements that will make it pretty trouble free? I'm willing to use a simpler program (garageband?) to find something portable.
I almost bought a Zoom or Edirol to fulfil this task, but I can't stand the small screens.
    Any advice will be appreciated...
    thanks

Thank you all for your input. It was helpful.
It is mainly for recording 1 or 2 simultaneous tracks of my collaborators improvisations, or my collaborators playing my compositional ideas. They would this on top of 1 to 4 other tracks.
I don't believe any (or many) plug-ins will be used as the aim is to "hear" compositional ideas I have in my head or on paper to see if a certain idea has potential. My main goals is to put together sketches, tracks to create the workings of a new piece. I'm not looking at making finished recordings, as I always plan to do that at a professional studio with an engineer that has more experience than I do. All the assembly of tracks/sketches/ideas will take place at home on my MacPro. I just need something to record my other instrumentalists at my collaborators' homes--thus the portability needed.
I used to use a Zoom H4 to record improvisational sessions of my small ensemble. But what I found was that the small screen is really inconvenient to use to overdub new tracks.
Thank you jdredge for your experience with your Powerbook. This is input I'm looking for. Real world experience with LP7 and older (cheaper) portables. I have an Apogee Duet as my interface. In all, I don't think I would I would have more than 5 tracks, probably 3 acoustic and one or two VI. Even then, my collaborators will probably be recording on top of 3 or 4 other tracks at most.
I've started looking at places that sell older portables. I've spent so much on this MacPro and other goodies that I can't afford the newest laptops (although it is so tempting to go into further debt).
Thanks in advance for any further guidance.

  • What are the avlble methods to Measure  Quality of Customer Service in SAP

    Hi
We are in Retail business, and I would like to know what are the available methods to measure the Quality of Customer service in SAP CRM. Help us to get the required information?
    Best regards

    Venkat,
there are two aspects to this :
    1. The overall philosophy ( for want of a better word ) of QOS for any service - there is a lot of thought that has gone into measuring QOS for a service - hence I would say that QOS is more related to the specific service than the entire domain.
    2. Measuring the quality of service in terms of what ? - there are a lot of KPIs for the same some of them could be :
Average time taken to service a customer
Does the customer get all that they want in the store or only some of the items ( partial fill)
Are the products neatly arranged and easy to access
average time taken for the customer to get what h/she needs
customer facilities like parking / childern play area etc
Availability of attendants / helpers for the customer
    home delivery
credit options... etc etc and the list could go on endlessly ... as you can see it is very specific to the service being provided and accordingly you will get KPIs for the same.
As for measauring the same - there are umpteen ways to do the samedepending on the place it gets recorded - you can have surveys / web surveys / POS details etc etc - what is it that you are looking for specifically ?

    Hope it helps....

  • What are the roles in CRM implementation Project(all generic extractions)

    Hi Gurus,
Now I am placed from a support project from BW (CRM) implementation project(all are generic extractions).
& I am also new to implementation project.
what are the neccessary steps to be taken when we are implementing BW for CRM.
    Gurus please clarify my doubts.
    1. what are the steps in implementation project in detail(as a developer).
    2. what are the sizes of the cubes,ODS & How to decide them.
    3. what are the neccessary steps for Master data & Transaction data.
4.How to make the functional specifications for Infoobjects, cubes,ODS,Remote cubes,Multiproviders.
5.can we change to delta loads to full loads if yes what happens to existing data.
6.How flat file extraction used in the case of crm& how to do ascii format.
7.What are the steps to be taken when we are creating Queries & Reports in BW CRM.
    It's very urgent.
    thanks = points.
    Bwcheta.

    1. what are the steps in implementation project in detail(as a developer).
U have to basically to the techinal design after understnading the functional designs and implemnet the same( creating infoobjects, datatargets, datasources, queries etc.). Then u have to load data and do the unit testing on the same.
    2. what are the sizes of the cubes,ODS & How to decide them.
Completely the business reqmnet and the data that the client wants to load.
    3. what are the neccessary steps for Master data & Transaction data.
U have to understand ur master data and transaction data on the basis of whch u have create ur infoobjects and load data in them and finally in the datatarget.
    4. can we change to delta loads to full loads if yes what happens to existing data.
Sure u can do that by choosing Full update in the infopkg. It will just load the complete data instead of changed records.
    *Hope it helps.

  • What are the parameters in Call transaction method?

    Hi ABAPER'S,
Please give me what are the parameters in call transaction method?
    Thanks,
    Prakash

Processing batch input data with CALL TRANSACTION USING is the faster of the two recommended data transfer methods. In this method, legacy data is processed inline in your data transfer program.
    Syntax:
    CALL TRANSACTION <tcode>
    USING <bdc_tab>
    MODE  <mode>
    UPDATE  <update>
    <tcode> : Transaction code
<bdc_tab> : Internal table of structure BDCDATA.
    <mode> : Display mode:
    A
    Display all
    E
    Display errors only
    N
    No display
    <update> : Update mode:
    S
    Synchronous
    A
    Asynchronous
    L
    Local update
A program that uses CALL TRANSACTION USING to process legacy data should execute the following steps:
Prepare a BDCDATA structure for the transaction that you wish to run.
With a CALL TRANSACTION USING statement, call the transaction and prepare the BDCDATA structure. For example:
    CALL TRANSACTION 'TFCA' USING BDCDATA
    MODE 'A'
    UPDATE 'S'.

    The MODE Parameter
You can use the MODE parameter to specify whether data transfer processing should be displayed as it happens. You can choose between three modes:
A Display all. All screens and the data that goes in them appear when you run your program.
N No display. All screens are processed invisibly, regardless of whether there are errors or not. Control returns to your program as soon as transaction processing is finished.
E Display errors only. The transaction goes into display mode as soon as an error in one of the screens is detected. You can then correct the error.
The display modes are the same as those that are available for processing batch input sessions.
    The UPDATE Parameter
You use the UPDATE parameter to specify how updates produced by a transaction should be processed. You can select between these modes:
A Asynchronous updating. In this mode, the called transaction does not wait for any updates it produces to be completed. It simply passes the updates to the SAP update service. Asynchronous processing therefore usually results in faster execution of your data transfer program.
Asynchronous processing is NOT recommended for processing any larger amount of data. This is because the called transaction receives no completion message from the update module in asynchronous updating. The calling data transfer program, in turn, cannot determine whether a called transaction ended with a successful update of the database or not.
If you use asynchronous updating, then you will need to use the update management facility (Transaction SM12) to check whether updates have been terminated abnormally during session processing. Error analysis and recovery is less convenient than with synchronous updating.
S Synchronous updating. In this mode, the called transaction waits for any updates that it produces to be completed. Execution is slower than with asynchronous updating because called transactions wait for updating to be completed. However, the called transaction is able to return any update error message that occurs to your program. It is much easier for you to analyze and recover from errors.
L Local updating. If you update data locally, the update of the database will not be processed in a separate process, but in the process of the calling program. (See the ABAP keyword documentation on SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL for more information.)
    The MESSAGES Parameter
The MESSAGES specification indicates that all system messages issued during a CALL TRANSACTION USING are written into the internal table <MESSTAB> . The internal table must have the structure BDCMSGCOLL .
You can record the messages issued by Transaction TFCA in table MESSTAB with the following coding:
(This example uses a flight connection that does not exist to trigger an error in the transaction.)
DATA: BEGIN OF BDCDATA OCCURS 100.
    INCLUDE STRUCTURE BDCDATA.
    DATA: END OF BDCDATA.
DATA: BEGIN OF MESSTAB OCCURS 10.
    INCLUDE STRUCTURE BDCMSGCOLL.
    DATA: END OF MESSTAB.
    BDCDATA-PROGRAM = 'SAPMTFCA'.
    BDCDATA-DYNPRO = '0100'.
    BDCDATA-DYNBEGIN = 'X'.
    APPEND BDCDATA.
    CLEAR BDCDATA.
    BDCDATA-FNAM = 'SFLIGHT-CARRID'.
    BDCDATA-FVAL = 'XX'.
    APPEND BDCDATA.
    BDCDATA-FNAM = 'SFLIGHT-CONNID'.
    BDCDATA-FVAL = '0400'.
    APPEND BDCDATA.
CALL TRANSACTION 'TFCA' USING BDCDATA MODE 'N'
    MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.
    LOOP AT MESSTAB.
    WRITE: / MESSTAB-TCODE,
    MESSTAB-DYNAME,
    MESSTAB-DYNUMB,
    MESSTAB-MSGTYP,
    MESSTAB-MSGSPRA,
    MESSTAB-MSGID,
    MESSTAB-MSGNR.
    ENDLOOP.
The following figures show the return codes from CALL TRANSACTION USING and the system fields that contain message information from the called transaction. As the return code chart shows, return codes above 1000 are reserved for data transfer. If you use the MESSAGES INTO <table> option, then you do not need to query the system fields shown below; their contents are automatically written into the message table. You can loop over the message table to write out any messages that were entered into it.
    Return codes:

    0

    Error Analysis and Restart Capability
Unlike batch input methods using sessions, CALL TRANSACTION USING processing does not provide any special handling for incorrect transactions. There is no restart capability for transactions that contain errors or produce update failures.
You can handle incorrect transactions by using update mode S (synchronous updating) and checking the return code from CALL TRANSACTION USING. If the return code is anything other than 0, then you should do the following:
write out or save the message table
use the BDCDATA table that you generated for the CALL TRANSACTION USING to generate a batch input session for the faulty transaction. You can then analyze the faulty transaction and correct the error using the tools provided in the batch input management facility.
