What are other updates after 10.5.8

Hi, So today my friend gave me her old Macbook that she hadn't been using. I just wanted to know when i order the Snow Leopard update what other updates i may need because i would prefer to purchase them at the same time. Because it's quicker and easier to do it at once. I want to get it completely updated to like maverick?!? The cheapest option possible would be preferable. Thank you so so much!

You have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to get any further, provided in any case that the Macbook is able to handle it (I think that in fact all the versions will do so). The installer will probably install 10.6.3 and you should then go to
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
(free) and apply the updater to bring it up to 10.6.8. You should note that this file is 1.09GB so you do rather need a reasonably fast connection.
You can then go to the App Store in the Applications folder and download Mavericks for free, provided again that your Mac can handle it. It must be the October 2008 version or later, and you must have a minimum of 8GB space on your disk and 2GB of RAM (your Mac probably has only 1GB so you would need to upgrade it, which should be possible though I should get a service shop to do it rather than attempting it yourself unless you are very confident about this sort of thing).
Even 2GB is not really enough to run Mavericks satisfactorily - it's liable to be very slow and you would really need to go to 4GB, the maximum you can use - and I have to say that you may be better off sticking with Snow Leopard which is a good stable system and should run well. There is a limit to how much money it's worth throwing at an old Mac.

• What are the Update tables?

In LO Delta scenario, Data posted parallel into document tables and update tables. What are the Document tables? What are the Update tables?
Give example for Application 11, which is document tables, and update tables?

Hello Mannev,
Document tables are the actual application tables where the data is posted when you post a document in R/3.
Examples can be MSEG, VBRK etc.
Update tables are the intermediate tables which store data read from document tables. The V3 runs collects deltas in form of LUWs from these update tables and populates the delta queues.
hope this helps..
thanks,

I've read that Promise Pegasus2 R6 thunderbolt 2 series does not sell replacement parts (no replacement parts for any of the Pegasus line). I'm buying the new MacPro but am concerned about spending $2K for storage (12tb version) that may break and cannot be fixed (am told that one must purchase a new unit if a part breaks). What are others buying for storage for the new MacPro? Thanks so much for your help.
Discussion about this issue at MacWorld.com: http://www.macworld.com/article/2082783/first-look-promises-pegasus2-r6-thunderb olt-2-raid-array.html

I've used the original Pegasus R6 units for a couple of years now and have been very pleased with them. On the two occasions I've had to call on their technical sujpport, I've found them readily available, knowledgeable, and very helpful. In one case it involved the reset of a unit after a power failure at an inopportune time; in the other case it was a question about upgrading disk drives to higher capacities (1 Gb gto 4 Gb). I was pleased to learn that their tech support people were in California and as good if not better than upper-tier AppleCare reps. The hardware itself has functioned flawlessly so far.

• 0.41GB of my iPod Touh 4G' is taken up by something called 'Others'. What are 'Others' and can they be deleted or are they an essential part of the iPod and embedded in it? If not essential how do I go about deleting it to enable me to add other pictures

0.41GB of my iPod Touch 4G's capacity is taken up by something callked 'Others'. What are 'Others' and will it be o.k to delete them? If so how do I go about doing it as there is no trace of a file on either iTunes or my iPod?

Other content is typically miscellaneous data used by applications you have installed - could be save data (e.g. for games), or documents you've created. There's no easy way to determine precisely what it is, but the only way to clear it is to either delete it from within the respective application, or remove the associated application altogether - neither of which are typically practical.

I am trying to delete the other files from my iPhone so I can download the new update, but I havent got a clue how to delete them...what are they? And how can I get rid of them?

Could be favorites, history, voicemail, etc.
It is normal to have a gb or less of other. More than this indicates corrupt files.
A restore should resolve.

I do not configure anything in SPRO (Define release strategy for SES) but I got a red light in the top of the screen near the field "No acceptance" so I presume that the SES should be accepted but as I do not configure anything regarding release startegy, I do not know how to accept the SES.
Besides, I cannot perform MIRO: when I put the PO number, system indicates that there is no (suitable) item found for PO
I should have miss something. Could you please guide me?

You can perform the following activities using the Log Viewer UI:
● Connect to and view logs on multiple servers
● Add log files
● Add log files from a log directory
● Customize the columns for the log records that are displayed
● Search for log records that meet specific criteria
● Filter log records by specific criteria
● Sort log records
● Merge log files within and across servers
● Use the refresh function to display the latest logs

• Windows XP SP3 cached domain user credentials are not updating after password change over VPN

We have a bunch of sales people who stay on the road indefinitely, using Windows XP SP3 domain joined laptops.
When they change their domain user password, while connected through the VPN, the cached credentials are not updating locally on their laptops. This causes issues at their next Windows login, where they have to use their prior password to gain access
to the OS. Then when they connect through the VPN client, they have to use their new password. We have already tried Microsoft KB 829652 (which was rolled up with SP3 anyways).
I have found several work arounds, but I would like to attack the root cause.

You have to recache the credentials if you change the password. You may have to get the user to log in locally. Then connect to VPN. Once connected to vpn, have them do a run as on any program...I usually use notepad or internet explorer (this will
cache their credentials with the updated password.).

• What are Registry changes after kb2461249

Hi,
I need to know what registry changes happen after I install kb2461249. I need this info to complete my patch package. it would be also helpful if I get to know instead, if any files change their version specifically after this kb install. I looked into the
kb article but upto my knowledge I don't have any strong opinion form there.

sorry for getting back late.
so based on your answer what I understand is whatever the file version listed on the KB article is what the file will change into after the kb install. but I had seen these stay same before and after install. So I am looking for changes with x64 windows
server 2008 R2. is there a file version change that you want me to point to?

• Nokia videos: What are Software Updates & How to d...

Hi all,
we've been busy in Nokia Care and have been preparing some videos to explain you what the whole software update concept is all about and how you can update your phone over the air or via PC - and how you can use WiFi to save data download costs.
Introduction to Nokia Software Updates (video 1/5) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zwfeCq5ddI
Nokia firmware update over the air (video 2/5) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sXtfv5kk5g
Nokia applications update over the air (video 3/5) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP7oMuVvsa8
Software Update with Nokia Ovi Suite (video 4/5) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADIj1U2m9z4
Setting up Wi-Fi for free data downloads (video 5/5) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFMTv0uSGdc
pS: Those videos cover the whole Nokia portfolio (smartphones & mobile phones) and have been done to support our whole customer base when it comes to "how to do an update". So to be clear: This is not an announcement about Symbian Anna (even if the videos feature some content that will be familiar from previous press releases).

I have this problem after symbian Anna Update..
When i tried solution 1 : it replies me .sisx files not supported
when i tried solution 2: no tmp files found.
Is there any other way? im wondering why it says file not supported.
FA136074: Why is Ovi Store not working after the Symbian Anna update?
This problem is linked to incompatibel QT components. Please do the following:
SolutionA:
- Install the following QT files on the C: drive of your phone in exactly this sequence
* http://dl.nokia.com/ns/sdo/QtSA4.7.301.sisx
*http://dl.nokia.com/ns/sdo/QtMobilitySA1.1.301.sis
- While you install above QT files you MUST keep the following things in mind:
*Installation must be done to C: drive of the phone. If you by mistake select E: drive, you can cancel the installation and re-install again. If E: drive installation is complete, you can re-install one more time and select C: drive for installation.
*Installation order must be met. First it has to be QT (QtSA4.7.301.sisx).
- Start Ovi Store
B) Solution2:
- Launch the File manager on your phone (Typically found: Menu -> Applications -> Office -> File mgr.)
- Choose Options -> Find -> E: Mass memory -> Root folder
- In the “Find text:” window, type “*.sisx” (without double quote) and the select find.
- It will display many sisx files starting with “TMP”. Example: TMP3efa4.sisx.
- Now select Options -> Mark multiple items and now mark all sisx starting with “TMP”.
- After marking them select Options -> Delete and delete all of them.

• What are they updates???

I have 7.1.1.5. The new one is 7.2.
Why won't apple tell me the new stuff or fixed that's been added or removed? Before i upgraded i want to know what i'm upgrading to, If it's the same there's no point.
Anyway Please apple give me a FULL list of changes on new updates.

This update is really only for the iTunes Plus portion of the store for the new DRM free files.
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes72forwindows.html
If you will check the top tabs on this page under "downloads", you can usually find information about what the changes are in any update. Also, this is a user to user forum only, so no one from Apple routinely posts in these forums.

• WHAT ARE THE UPDATED FUNCTION MODULES

Hi Friends,
Can anybody explain me about UPDATED FUNCTION MODULES (types of function modules)

Hi
Update Function Module
Unlike transactions and executable programs, dialog modules do not start a new SAP LUW. Calls to update-task function modules from a dialog module use the same update key as the ones in the calling program. The result is that calls to update function modules from a dialog module are executed only if a COMMIT WORK statement occurs in the calling program.
If you place a COMMIT WORK in a dialog module, it does commit changes to the database (for example, with UPDATE).However, it does not start the update task. The function modules are not actually executed until a COMMIT WORK statement occurs in the calling program.
If you use dialog modules, try to avoid including calls to update function modules in subroutines called with PERFORM ON COMMIT. In general, any occurrence of PERFORM ON COMMIT(with or without update-task function calls) in a dialog module can be problematic.
This is because dialog modules have their own roll area, which disappears when the module finishes. Consequently, all local data (including data used for parameter values when calling an update function module) disappears as soon as the commit in the main program is reached.
If you must use this method in a dialog module (i.e. include the call to an update-task function in a subroutine), you must ensure that the values of the actual parameters still exist when the update-task function actually runs. To do this, you can store the required values with EXPORT TO MEMORY and then import them back into the main program (IMPORT FROM MEMORY) before the COMMIT WORK statement
Creating Update Function Modules
To create a function module, you first need to start the Function Builder. Choose Tools ® ABAP Workbench, Function Builder. For more information about creating function modules, refer to the ABAP Workbench Tools documentation.
To be able to call a function module in an update work process, you must flag it in the Function Builder. When you create the function module, set the Process Type attribute to one of the following values:
Update with immediate start
Set this option for high priority ("V1") functions that run in a shared (SAP LUW). These functions can be restarted by the update task in case of errors.
Update w. imm. start, no restart
Set this option for high priority ("V1") functions that run in a shared (SAP LUW). These functions may not be restarted by the update task.
Update with delayed start
Set this option for low priority ("V2") functions that run in their own update transactions. These functions can be restarted by the update task in case of errors.
To display the attributes screen in the Function Builder, choose Goto ® Administration.
Defining the Interface
Function modules that run in the update task have a limited interface:
Result parameters or exceptions are not allowed since update-task function modules cannot report on their results.
You must specify input parameters and tables with reference fields or reference structures defined in the ABAP Dictionary.
