What are safe CPU/GPU operating temps?

I'm running BONIC on my new 6 core Mac Pro, 32GB RAM, 1TB storage, dual D700 GPU's and I've been monitoring CPU/GPU temps and fan RPMs using Temp Gauge Pro ... once BONIC gets going you can see all the CPUs maxed out and temps begin to rise... as expected of course, but after about 5 minutes or so the fan is maxing out at 1900 rpm and I see max CPU temps hitting ~92 degrees ... GPUs are running cooler...
is this within the safe operating range ?

I have the base 4 core and with Mac FanConrol I get 60C GPU Diode, 57 CPU Proximity while running Setie@home and Einstein. Fan is 914

Hi, I bought a refurbished Probook 6570b running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. It seems it doesn't come with the core cpu but rather a celeron B840 1.9GHz. Nor has it a discrete Graphics unit.
My question is this. Are the CPU & GPU upgradeable?

What are the supported Macintosh Operating System versions for IBM SPSS Statistics 18,19 and 20?
    Question
I would like to know what are the supported Macintosh Operating system versions for IBM SPSS Statistics versions 18, 19 and 20?
    Answer
    Please see the list below:
    - IBM SPSS Statistics 18 and 19 releases are supported on Apple Macintosh OS 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) with Intel processor.
    - IBM SPSS Statistics 20 release is supported on Apple Macintosh OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and 10.7 (Lion) with Intel processor.
    - The IBM SPSS Statistics versions 18 and 19 are not supported on Mac OS 10.7 (Lion).
THIS MEANS THAT TO USE LION ONE FIRST HAS TO UPGRADE TO SPSS STATISTICS 20.

Whilst the 2012-02-15 edition of IBM's matrix does not mention Lion, a few users have noted that:
    • 18.0 can be troublesome
    • an updated version of 18.x should be better.

  • What are acceptable cpu temps.

    Hey guys,
I've never been able to monitor my cpu temp before and was wondering if my temps are in the normal range.
    idle: 40-45 C
    Converting DVD's to mpegs: 78-80 C
    Using Garage band: 65-70 C
    Safari:40-50 C
    Photo Booth:50-60 C
    Video Chat: 60-70 C
Are these about normal? pushing 80 seems pretty warm...

From many conversations we have had on this subject the temps you posted are normal. Mine usually runs 80º C to 85º C when streaming video.

  • What are the values for operation code in order import open interface

    Hi,
I am trying to create the sales order by populating the interface table and run the request import order i.e. open interace without standard OE APIs.
I am also populating the actions interface table i.e. OE_ACTIONS_IFACE_ALL along with header, line, & price adjustment tables to hold the order. The sales order creates successfully but it fails at holding action due to invalid operation code. It has been tried with ‘CREATE’, ‘UPDATE, ‘INSERT’ for operation code in action interface table but no use.
So my concern is what value needs to pass for operation code in action interface table.
    Any help would appreciate.
    Thanks,
    Sai Krishna

If you are planning to apply holds, For holds the action is OE_Globals.G_APPLY_HOLD or APPLY_HOLD.
    Thanks

  • What are the hours of operation for phone support? I cannot find them and the phone system just says between regular hours?

My patience has been pushed to its  limit with this iPod and I cannot find hours of operation for customer service and tech support and the phone system just tells you no one is available and call back during regular hours, but nothing saying what those hours are. Does anyone know?

Looking at the Apple's website and previous posts, Apple does not publish the hours.  Did you can in the USA during the times that corresponsd to about 9AM to 4PM Pacific time?

  • What are some of your system temps?

    Hey all.
Out of curiosity, I was wondering if you all could post your System temps and your CPU temps.   I am running Folding @Home now 24/7 and I just want to compare some of yours with mine to make sure I am doing ok.
I just got a new case and installed an 80mm exhaust fan in the top center, another 80mm exhaust towards the top on the back of the case, a 120mm intake in the front panel, and have another 80mm intake in the center of the side panel.
Before I was Folding the idle temp for CPU was 109F.  42C.
Idle SYSTEM temp was 98F.  36C.
Now that I am Folding the CPU is always at full load so now my temps are always around 112F.  44C. for  my SYSTEM and 125F.  51C. for the CPU.
BTW, this is with the FSB set to 143, 1.85V for CPU, and 2.7 V for Memory.   The ambiant temp in the room varies between 68F.  20C. and 72F.  22C.
My main concern is when summer hits and the ambient temps go up to about 80F  26C.
    Thanks.

I get the exact same TEMP with my volcano 9 but im not deaf.... lower the RPM to about 3500 with the pot.  You dont need to run it at full blast, its way too loud.  Just have a good air flow in the case and have it set to 3500 RPM.

  • What are the penaltys to operating lion from a remote drive?

My Macbook pro with Lion installed  is runing slower and slower and I have tried all of the fixes that I can find on the internet including, clearing the SMC, resetting the PRAM, defraging my 1 TB internal disk, run Kaspersky, run Mackeeper, fixing permissions. I have done all of these multiple times without much improvement if any. There are times when I can type a sentence into mail and watch as the program runs one or two words behind my typing. I have 8 Gig of memory, 2.66 intel dual core. The rotating spere is my worse enemy and I am sick of it.
I need to run Windows 7 in a paralles VM much of my work time. I use the computer for architectural work and I run an Autocad Program called Revit in the VM. Other times, I need to use Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom in the Lion enviroment. I never try any more to have the VM running and photoshop at the same time - I could go on vacation and back before I get the machine to respond in that circumstance. I have tweated the amouts of memory allowed to both without seeing any real change. I suspect at times video card problems but have turned off acceleration in the Autocad enviroment to get around it.
The one thing that I haven't done and don't want to do is a clean install of Lion. This problem has been progressive and I doubt if the problem orginates with Lion but who knows? So I got this idea, I could install Lion on a cleaned 500 GB remote drive and then install Paralles and Windows 7 in that version of Lion. Then I could boot from the remote drive where there is nothing else installed and Paralles/Autocad/Lion would have total free access to all of the resources of the computer by itself. Do you think this will work? I realize that it would have no effect on the programs installed and their slow response time for the internal drive but I could almost live with that.
If this improves proformance for Autocad on the remote drive, does that imply that a clean install of Lion on my internal drive would fix the current problems? I do not want to go to a windows POS to solve this problem with all of its inablity to start up and shut down and blue screens - been there, done that. But frankly, I'm not that far away from the same kind of time wasting computer issues with my Macbook.
Any help will be appreciated and I am willing to try almost anything.
    steve

  • CPU and operating temps when rendering in FInal Cut

I had some issues in Final Cut today, and had to start a project over. I noticed render times seem to have gotten slower. I don't think it's just me, I remember my computer rendering clips much faster than it did after the crash. I also noticed the fans constantly blowing at full bore when rendering. I decided to monitor temperatures during the rendering process. The CPU temperature immediately starts to climb. It averages between 85-89 degrees Celsius during the rendering process. Is this normal for it to get this hot during rendering? I have read many different things.

I'm using FCP 7. It seems like my CPU has been running warm overall at times. I hope things are alright with it.

  • What are safe cleaners for the oleophobic screen?

I understand that Apple has said not to use solvents, ammonia, abrasives or basically anything other than water on the 3gs screen. I was wondering what a cleaner based on a very diluted glycolic acid might do to the screen. I have a screen cleaner like this, and before using it was wondering how easily the new screen damages. I have not yet found any thread that explains how sensitive the oleophobic coating is, nor one that explains the chemical reactions that might happen with the coating. Calling any chemists, or anyone that has experience with this sort of thing. Thanks in advance, any input would be appreciated.

According to the iPhone 3GS User Guide, page 45:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf
Ignore this information at your own peril. If you were going to use an acid-based cleaner, I'm not sure why you wouldn't just use a weak solution of vinegar. If you are going to destroy the screen, why spend a lot of money?

  • What are safe Apps to download from the App store?

I ask , because so many apps are causing freezing and crashes. Can people who are downloading and using apps that they have no problems with, List those apps for those considering to buy them?
    Thanks.

+Can people who are downloading and using apps that they have no problems with, List those apps for those considering to buy them+
    Great suggestion!
Many of the apps I have installed (free and bought) have had multiple updates since launch.
This would seem to indicate that these programs have had issues (and hence the need for an update after only a few weeks).
Some of these are : Crash Bandicot, NYTimes, Tetris, File Magnet, Sudoku unlimited, Tap Tap Revenge
Seriously though, I dont know if these will cause the iphone to crash in the future... Its all hit and miss at the moment.

  • What are good CPU & MOBO for PS?

I'm making my next machine and would like to pose a question of those with experience in current equipment. I'm aiming for a solid but not flashy machine. Primary use is CS3, PSE6, and a geographic Information system (think: lots of database calls, lots of vector handling, and lots of image handling). The ruling suggestion from non-Photoshop folks has been to look at a CPU in the Intel P35 family and either an INTEL or GIGABYTE motherboard. Any comments for OR against?

Just to round out the post I got an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 with a GIGBYTE EP35-DS4 and an XFX-(nVida) GEFORCE 8600 GT plus 2 x 2GB RAM (Someday I may use that "extra gig").

Any experience with freeware tools that have been successfully used for monitoring temps on the T-series?  I'm aware of Tpfancontrol, but I'm not interested in controlling fan speed, just want to conveniently monitor CPU/GPU/HDD temps.

  • Early 2009, 24" iMac: What are normal operating temps?

My iMac overheats and automatically shuts down frequently.  Sometimes, just watching a movie on Quicktime causes the CPU to top 80C and cause a shutdown.  Fans never run faster than 3500-3600rpm.
Another thing that I noticed, is that the hiutil process runs twice a day using 100% of my processor, and always causes an overheat and shurtdown.
Can anyone direct me to normal operating temps for this model iMac, or advise what may be worng?
This sreenshot displays temps (Celcius) with only Safari running.  With uTorrent running (not actually feeding peers), and Quicktime, I get an overheat.

Your temps are somewhat high, but still within acceptable levels.
I would be more comfortable seeing many of the temps in the 40 degree Celsius range.
Your CPU temps are on the high side and probably why your CPU fans are running high.
When was the last time you clear out any of the dust, lint and fine dirt particles from your iMac.
IF you've never done this, you need to completely unplug your iMac, find a heavy blanket or towel to lay your iMac, face down on the soft material. Using a special electronics vacuum, a portable, plug in vacuum or standardnhiuse vacuum with hose and attchments, using either the bare hose end or crvice tool, carefully and slowly vacuum all air intake and exhaust vents, openings and all of the ports to get rid of as much fine dust, dirt and lint as possible.
Do not use a vacuum attachment with brushes. This could cause a problem with random static charges.
Once this is done, re-setup your iMac, plug all your peripherals in and then do an SMC reset by plugging in your iMac to power. Wait 5 seconds, then power up your iMac.
Then report back here with any changes in temps.

  • What are typical operating temp ranges?

I have the new 27" imac the MC813. I have iStat pro and Im wondering what the average temps people see that are ok. Mine seem high and Im worried once I start processing HD movies and burning them Im going to kill this thing.
    Thank you in advance

I don't own an iMac, and the temps are different between desktops and notebooks (which I own).  Since I do not know the answer, what I can do to assist you best is to suggest googling "operating temp iMac 27" or something along those lines.  I did find some answers.  Also, since it is new (assuming is has been owned for less than 90 days). you can call AppleCare (if a # is available for your country, you can check here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 )and get the answer directly from the source.  Good luck and I hope you get your answer
