What are Session Components in ATG OOTB

Hi,
What are the Session components in ATG OOTB, as far i know Profile and ShoppingCart are the Session components.
Please mention if any other Session components are there. we need to create the same using other framework.

There are a lot of session scoped components. Here are just the ones found in the DAS,DPS,DSS and DCS modules

  • What are the components I need to install on my apps server

    Hello All,
Our Oracle DB 10.1.0.3.0 is installed on Linux Server.
Oracle 10g Developer Site is installed on windows XP.
I have upgraded form & reports form earlier version 6.0..
Now I need to install Oracle Application Server on windows 2003 (x86) 32 bit.
    I never done this b4.
    My question is that ,
what are the components I need to install on my apps server to run Forms & Reports?
I am installing apps server on one machine.
But when I read documentation they said its better to install on two machine.
    Regards,
    Diana

    Yes,
I'm sorry to tell you but for forms and reports (BI) you need to install almost everything, you need to install an infrastructure as first components, and then a midtier for AS with Business Intelligence option, in this second component you can chose to install Reports, forms, OCJ4, Portal, any other component you need or you thik you will need in the future.
You can install both in one Server if you don't have resources for 2 or 3 thinking on load balance. It works fine for me in one server but my operation is not too big.

    Hi,
As far as my view there is no  such dependancy as our customers are running  in same Environemnt (R/3 4.7 EE and BI 7.0) .
Are you facing any problem durng extraction or its just a proactive approarch .
I hope extraction will work with your current landscape.

  • What are the controllers in atg?

what are the controllers in atg? and diff b/w repository and jdbc?

A repository is a data access layer that defines a generic representation of a data store. In simple term "An interface b/w database and applicatoin".
To create Repository, we are creating definition file that is nothing but a set of item-descriptors. An item-descriptor is a set of tables that have relationship(one to one, one to many, many to many) among each others. You already know tables.
"Repository Item" is real time instance of item-descriptor. You can think about concept of repository same as hibernate.

  • What are the components use to be store in workspace repository ?

    Hi ,
We are working on Hyperion System9 v 9.3.1 which is on AIX server with Oracle 10g repository. We have scheduled approx 300 bqys having email notification which is importing bqy output files to respective folders with joboutput in another folder.
As, we know that all bqys & jobs use to be store in file system on Hyperion server (/Hyperion/BIPlus/data/RM1_servername/root/../...).
But our concern is hyperion repository size which is 163 GB in current scenario.
Therefore, we need to know that what are the components use to be store in repository for Hyperion workspace.
Your any guidance will be highly appreciable.
    With regards,

  • What is dynpro? what are its components?

    hi
what is dynpro? what are its components?

    hi
    good
Web Dynpro is SAP's development environment for creating professional web user interfaces for business applications. Its model-driven approach minimizes manual coding and uses visual tools to design and reuse UI components. Web Dynpro is based on a powerful and flexible Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture that ensures a clear separation of user interfaces and back-end services. Developers have full control of the generated code at all stages of the development process. Get an overview of the fundamental concepts of Web Dynpro.

    Webdynpro wiki
Web Dynpro is a development environment enabling enterprises to model and develop professional applications based on browser technology, including a standards-based, device-independent complete runtime environment.
It bridges the gap between different platforms such as J2EE, ABAP and Microsoft.NET, and between different Internet browsers and mobile platforms.
It allows the developer to define screen and Workflow using Java Server Pages that call ABAP applicatons in the R/3 server. Web Dynpro can be used to provide Web services. This ability means that your Web Dynpro applications can have complete interoperability with the .NET platform.

  • OLAP Virtual cubes in PS 2010: what are their components ?

    Hi,
I read somewhere that the 3 following OLAP Cubes in Project Server 2010 are virtual cubes built with the "aggregation" of several other cubes. What are these "primary" cubes?
    Thanks
    MSP_Portfolio_Analyzer
    MSP_Project_SharePoint
    MSP_Project_Timesheet

To understand the Total fields and Dimensions available in the 14  OLAP cubes available in Project Server 2010, it is helpful to group the OLAP cubes based on the Total fields and Dimensions they have in common with one another. Therefore, consider
the following logical groupings for the fourteen OLAP cubes:
Assignment: The Assignment Non Timephased, Assignment Timephased,
MSP Portfolio Analyzer, and MSP Project Timesheet
OLAP cubes contain assignment data. Each of these OLAP cubes includes many of the same Total Fields (such as Actual Cost, Actual Overtime Cost, Actual Work, and Actual Overtime Work) and many of the same Dimensions (such as Assignment Owner and Project List)
    Project Workspace:The Deliverables, Issues,
MSP_Project_SharePoint, and Windows SharePoint Services (WSS). This data includes Risk, Issues, Document, and Deliverable information about each project.
Timesheet: The EPM Timesheet and Timesheet OLAP cubes contain timesheet
data. You can use these two OLAP cubes to report on Actual Work Billable and Actual Work Non Billable, for example.
Project:The Project Non Timephased OLAP cube contains project
data. Although this OLAP cube contains some information in common with several others, the common information is so limited that I include it in its own group.
Resource: The Resource Non Timephased and Resource Timephased OLAP cubes
contain resource data. These two OLAP cubes do not contain any Total fields in common, but do contain several Dimensions in common (such as Booking Type and Resource List).
    Task:
The Tasks Non Timephased OLAP cube contains task data. This OLAP cube contains only one Total field and six Dimensions, two of which it has in common with other OLAP cubes. Because this OLAP cube contains so little information, and has so little in common
with other OLAP cubes, I include it in its own group.
In other way you can conclude :
MSP_Project_Timesheet:: combines the Assignment Timephased, Resource Timephased, and EPM Timesheet cubes.
MSP_Project_SharePoint :: combines Project Non-Timephased, Issues, Risks, and Deliverables cubes.
MSP_Portfolio_Analyzer :: combines the Assignment Timephased and Resource Timephased cubes

  • What are the components of a completed BPD set?

    Hello,
As you all are aware BPA suite allows you to create a vast host of diagrams.
    My question,
For someone to claim that (s)he has done the COMPLETE set of Business Process Diagrams, aka BPD set,
    What components are
    a. Mandatory and b. additional/ optional.
Please note that based on the responses I get, I intended to start a SEPERATE thread for EACH kind of diagram to get a more complete feel as to what should be included a PARTICULAR diagram.
For the purposes of these thread I would appreciate we all limiting ourselves to BPMN and
ONLY talk about non-BPMN stuff ( like EPC related diagrams) only when BPMN does not provide for that functionality.
    Regards
    Sanjiv

In nutshell the typical components of a contact center are:
PBX, where phones can register to and phone calls are delivered
ACD - Automatic call distributor that routes calls based on selected algorithm
IVR - where prompts can be played, calls can be queued
Agent Desktop - application agents login to, this can be 3rd party integration as well and can be thick or thin client
    Reporting
    Call recording
    Speed recognition/text to speech
    Social media integration
    web and email routing
    outbound dialer
Depending on which solution you select from Cisco the architecture is completely different between UCCE vs. UCCX for example, where with UCCE (enterprise) all components are separate and I would suggest reading design guide (SRND) for more details, and UCCX (express) most components can be on single server.

    What is ESS
Employee Self-Service or ESS is a web-based solution designed to automate many of the repetitive tasks of the HR function
by allowing employees direct access to HR information and services. The basic idea of ESS is that employees are empowered to be responsible for their own personal information.
    Benefits:-
One of the major reason for organizations implementing ESS is that it allows HR professionals to spend less time in administrative tasks like paper filing,
attendance monitoring etc and more time dealing with more complex and strategic HR issues.
The Gartner Group had estimated that 40 percent of traditional HR activities were handled by ESS in the year 2000 and this can only increase over time.

  • What are the disadvantages of ATG Scenarios

    HI Everyone,
I wanted to use ATG scenarios . Please let me know the Drawbacks of ATG scenarios.
Our requirement is to use for AB Test(split test) for the two different shopping cart pages and we want to update the scenarios in production now and then(not very frequently) .
    Thanks
    Siva

Scenarios are based on state machines concept and if you have a complex scenario, the server needs to keep track of the users and the state they are in with respect to the current scenario. Now if you have too many of such scenarios then obviously you are increasing the states the user will be in which has to be maintained on the server which may become problematic. But then you can also have some badly written code and be in the same situation as well.
Perhaps it is a common misconception that executing scenarios will increase load on the server and so it will become slow in responding to requests. Scenario performance actually depends on lot of things like - how many concurrent scenarios you have? If the production environment is correctly sized for the anticipated load? And unless you substantiate the "performance" which zeroes down on a scenario there is no point to say scenarios are bad. I have experience with a production site which was not using scenarios citing performance reasons while there were some badly written code which causes bottlenecks elsewhere.
Unless your site already over burdened with scenarios or you do something terribly wrong in the implementation of the scenario like introduce wait states with no possible exit points, I believe you should be using scenarios as it is easier and faster to implement the functionality with scenarios than writing it by yourself. And if your performance and stress tests determine that scenarios are the contention point you will have the time to rewrite that portion because you didn't waste the time by reinventing the wheel before.
Also do go through with the guidelines provided in the documentation for designing effective scenarios:
Oracle ATG Web Commerce - Designing Effective Scenarios
    Hope it helps.

  • What are the components of ESA Enterprise Services Architecture

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Azeem,
The components of ESA could depend on the kind of solution you are trying to implement. However, if your question is regarding the tools that SAP provides to accomplish the ESA paradigm then they are the following:
    1) Enterprise Services Repository (ESR): In a typical SOA scenario, this is where you would define your Service Interfaces. A corresponding WSDL file will be generated accordingly. At this point there is no backend implementation for your Interface.
    2) Backend implementation: This Service interface in ESR can then be implemented in the backend system. Once implemented, SAP systems provide the option of directly publishing this implementation to a Services Registry.
    3) Services Registry: This is a part of the NW Composition Environment and registers all web services published onto it. It is used as a single source for services for an organisation and has capabilities to configure governance processes for these services based on their classifications.
    4) Composition Environment: This contains the tools one would need to consume the services from the Services Registry and create composite applications. It provides tools like WebDynpro, Guided Procedures, Visual Composer, CAF etc to accomplish the same.
    Hope this helps.
