What are some ways to tell if my charger is frayed? I plan on going to the apple store soon and asking, However I will busy for the next couple weeks. I know
that you wont be able to say for certain, just best guesses. I am not sure if its fraying or just improper use because I bought the laptop from a small computer shop near my university. It is a late 2008 Macbook pro 15 inch(Not sure if that extra information helps but just in case ).

Try resetting your network settings.
Settings>Genenal>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

Hi Haritha,
Go to Tcode SE16, give your ODS active Table name and give width of output list as 1023.
Now run transaction to see your data and then click Settings --> User parameters and Select ALV Grid Display.
Now you should see and Excel Icon on top, click on it then select Table , then
Microsoft Excel and it will open your data with all columns you want.
I just tried for 213 columns

Open a blank layer above the background layer
Access the Clone Stamp Tool.
On the tool's option bar, enter Mode: Darken Opacity: 30% Aligned: Checked Sample all layers: checked
Zoom in on the shiny area, then ALT+left click a non-shiny skin area to sample the skin. Now, paint over the shiny area

I am looking for some ways to hook my G5+isight to my tv. im not really sure what kind of cables to buy. i would like not to have to move my comp but the only way i found for that would be the apple tv, am i right? my tv has all kinds of diff connections on it. Thanks

(1) Apple TV is an easy way that offers TV connection and MUCH more. You can ask your retailer about if additional cables or wi-fi connections are needed to connect your particular Mac and television to the TV.

i am looking for some ways in fcp to divide up the screen to show two / four things going on at same time, but i want them all to be in the right proportion not all squashed or streched out, i currently do a picture in picture type thing by using super impose and using wireframe to size it down. thanks for your help ....eric

However many layers you want. Each clip can have the filter applied. If you don't plan on moving the visable are of the video around in the box, a few simple adjustments in the Motion tab will do the same thing. DH_Box just offers more options within one control panel.

What are some ways to prevent dust from getting into the camera of my iPhone 5?

I have done much research on this topic but all I can find on the internet are ways to clean the camera after dust has already gotten into it. I've had to have my iPhone 5 replaced twice now because the dust has been so bad. I just got my third and I would love to be able to prevent the dust before it happens. Any tips? Thanks in advance.

Also I'd like to mention that I have noticed many other people are having this problem with the iPhone 5's so I've got to think that somebody has figured out some sort of solution.

MOV size: What are some ways to down sample .MOV files?

Okay all, I need some suggestions––
I want to reduce the size of .MOV files on my computer, mainly those which are in iPhoto from my iPhone 5. They appear to all be coming in as 1080p, which is certainly of no use to me. 360p is preferred.
I want to know how I can down sample (in batch, if possible) .MOV files down to about 1/4 of their size. They need to stay where they are though so that iPhoto doesn't lose them from its library.
Any ideas?

P.S. It would be great if I could just choose a lower sample rate for my iPhone to capture at. If anyone knows how to do that (besides third party apps), that kind of info would be great, too.

Is there some way to tell lightroom to just re-export the previously exported files?

Shot a celebration (Park, Mass and Party), went home and processed the raw files in Lightroom, Exported them into 3 folders.
Then I proceeded to edit the files in photoshop, first folder that consisted of the park went well. Files looks great, even after compressing them again.
Then up were the Mass pictures and that's where it all went down hill. When I loaded up the first image it was compressed to hell All the black areas were all pixelated, so I went into lightroom and sure enough it changed the quality from 100% down to 60%!
All my other settings were the same so I didn't accidentally reset the whole thing. Not sure why or how Lightroom did this, I've had it on 100% for the past 2 years!
Now I have to export them all over again, the trouble is there was 800 that I culled down to just 150. I really don't want to hand pick them all over again.
Is there some way to tell lightroom to just re-export the previously exported files?

The short answer: no.
Lightroom remembers recently imported files in a collection, but does not remember recently exported files.
That said, you could use the SQLiteroom plugin (free, by me) to round up a collection of *all* exported files, which might help.

Always like to see peoples opinions about added plugins for logic pro.
WHAT ARE SOME GREAT PLUGINS WELL WORTH THE MONEY?
TYPE OF SOUND CAN BE SYNTHS/EFFECTS WHATEVER YOU LIKE.

i've stopped using external plugins cause it always ended up with some issues :
- plugins would have some bugs
- plugins would need to be updated all the time, and the new version would mess up with my songs
- automation would not work properly
- settings would not have been saved properly with the song ...
of course i'm exagerating but :
- logic already has plenty of plugins all sounding well and covering everything you need
- i don't master half of them yet
- there's always a way to achieve the same sound of an other plugin / technic, may it be less easy
- any of my songs could be opened with any Logic Pro 7 in the world
- i feel like plugins are the new video games. my friend don't play video game anymore, they download plugins and rave about the latest ones. i don't need plugins to get creative, and when i have an idea of a sound or a song, i've never thought "**** i need reaktor" or anything.

I have been editing with Final Cut Express since 05 and I want to be able to do fancy visual effects I cannot do with Final Cut Express so I put it to you; what are some good visual effects programmes for the Mac? I know there is Adobe After Effects but I am wondering if there are any others, including from Apple.

So I half answered my own question. FCE will respect the alpha channel in a PR 4444 file. But from the limited testing I was able to to, there doesn't seem to be a way to export it ( or other flavors of PR) as a PR sequence. It renders as AIC, which is fine. FWIW, it can always be exported as Pro Res via QT Conversion, but why bother?
However, I now have to say – despite what I said in my first post – that I'm not 100% percent certain that the all the codecs will be available by buying Motion. I'm like 95% sure, the more I think about it. But I have too much NLE and graphics "stuff" on my systems to test it conclusively.
