I have an existing clint BC site in the system and we have built a new site also in BC and now need to make the change so new one is live and old one goes away. URL will remain same. What are the steps in doing this?

- Upgrade the new site
- remove the domain from the old site and add it to the new site
- cancel the old site

Following scenario for sample for slow moving items for multiproviders.
Slow Moving Item Scenario
You want to define a query that displays all products that have been purchased only
infrequently or not at all. In other words, the query is also display characteristic values for
which no transaction data or only low values exist for the selected period.
Procedure
In the Administrator Workbench;
1. Create a MultiProvider consisting of a revenue InfoCube, containing the InfoObject
Material (0MATERIAL), and the InfoObject 0MATERIAL. The InfoObject must be set as
an InfoProvider in InfoObject maintenance. In other words, you need to have assigned
the InfoObject to an InfoArea. (also refer to Tab Page: Master Data/texts [Ext.]).
In the BEx Analyzer:
2. Select your MultiProvider in the Query Designer.
3. Define a query that contains the InfoObject 1ROWCOUNT in the columns.
The InfoObject 1ROWCOUNT is contained in all flat InfoProviders, that is, in all
InfoObjects and ODS objects. It counts the number of records in the InfoProvider.
In this scenario, you can see from the row number display whether or nor values
from the InfoProvider InfoObject are really displayed.
4. Save the query and execute it. All values are now displayed, including those for materials
that were not purchased.
If you filter by time (0CALYEAR, for example), values from the InfoProvider
InfoObjects are not displayed since 0CALYEAR is not an attribute of
0MATERIAL. You can see this from the absence of values in the 1ROWCOUNT
column in the query. If you want to restrict by time, you need to proceed as
follows:
Constant Selection for the InfoObject
You need to set the constant selection for the 1ROWCOUNT key figure in order to be able to
set a filter by time in this query.
1. In the Query Designer, via the context menu for 1ROWCOUNT, choose Edit.
2. On the left hand half of the screen, under the data package dimension, select the
characteristic InfoProvider (0INFOPROV) and drag it into the right-hand screen area.
3. From the context menu for the InfoProvider, choose Restrict, and restrict across the
InfoProvider InfoObject.
4. Also from the context menu for the InfoProvider, choose the function Constant Selection.
5. Save the query and execute it. You can now also set a filter for a time characteristic, the
materials display remains as it was.
Displaying Slow Moving Items
If you want to display a list of slow moving items, excluding products that are selling well, you
need to proceed as follows:
1. In the Query Designer, via the context menu for 1ROWCOUNT, choose Edit.
2. Via the context menu for InfoProvider, choose the function Display Empty Values. Also
select Constant Selection.
3. Save the query and execute it. The result is that the system displays the materials for
which there was no revenue.
Displaying Products with Small Revenues
If you want to display a list of products that have not been sold or have only been selling
badly, you need to proceed as follows:
1. Set constant selection as described above, but do not select the display empty values
function.
2. In the Query Designer, define a condition for the 0MATERIAL InfoObject. Specify a value
that is to be the upper limit for a bad sale.
3. Save the query and execute it. The result is that the system displays all materials that
have not been sold or have been selling badly.

A 2003 iMac cannot support Snow Leopard 10.6; you'd need an Intel processor and that cannot be retrofitted to your Mac. What does "About this Mac" in your Apple menu say for your processor speed? What does it say about how much RAM you have?
If the processor is 1ghz or faster, you can run OS 10.5; otherwise, you are maxed out at 10.4.11.
Also, are you running any commercial ("pay for") anti-virus or security software? They are notorious for slowing most Macs to a fraction of their speed potential.
A too-full hard drive can drag down performance, especially if you don't have a lot of physical RAM installed. If you single-click your hard drive icon and then do command i, you'll see the disk usage. Looks like this:
The value for "Used" should be no more than about 90 percent of "Capacity." In the example image, that drive has about 34 percent of its space used and 66 percent free--more than enough. Please post what you see for your Capacity and Used numbers
There are a few more things we might check but this is a good start.

I have an early 2006 iMac (1.83 intel core duo), I am running leopard and upgraded my ram to 2GB a few years ago. I am running 2 external HD to hold my home movies, itunes. I updates iphones with OS5 and realized that I cannot run Lion on my Mac and will not be able to access iCloud. My question to you all is this: Should I explore options to further upgrade my Mac or just purchase a new one. If I purchase, what woudl you recommend? I am not a gamer, I use my mac for personal use and managing/editing our family photos and videos. I appreciate any advice you offer. You need to check to see if your machine can handle Lion, it needs 4GB to run well and a Intel Core 2 Duo or better.

Next, you must realize that your Rosetta PPC based programs will not operate under Lion, likely you will have to buy all new programs.
If you machine is dated, a lot of the trackpad gesture features you won't have.
Check the source of all your third party sofftware and hardware drivers for scanners, all-in-one's and the like to make sure they work or there are updates, or upgrades available and how much.

IDEALLY, it's best to backup files and then "fresh install" Snow Leopard clean, then upgrade to Lion.
Also you should make a option bootable clone of Snow Leopard on a external drive, this will allow you to return if something doesn't work.

New Vista PC - what are steps to install/move iTunes fm old XP system?

I expect delivery of a new PC tomorrow and am clueless as to what I need to do to set up iTunes on the new Vista PC and move my music over.
I have an iPhone and an iPod mini, am running iTunes 8.0.0.35 and I think my iPhone software is current. I do a flash drive with enough capacity to hold all my music files.
But I digress - what I'm looking for first is the big picture - do I start from scratch and install iTunes from CD as if for the first time? Anybody have an overall step by step process as to what I actually need to do?

What are the drawbacks to adding a Site Content Type to the Document Site Column?

I have a client who has enough SharePoint knowledge to be dangerous.
They are requesting that a Column be added to all Document Libraries everywhere. We built a solution that would require a bit of work when a Site Collection is created, and it would require that we run a script to identify if there are any Libraries
that do not have this Column attached.
This client wants to know why we didn't just add this Column to the default Document Site Content Type. I don't know specifics as to why that's not a good idea, just that it's not a good idea.
Can anyone point me to a resource that identifies the reasons why this is not recommended?

I'd say there's a risk that patches or upgrades could be affected by this, or overwrite the change.
In the past I've derived a Company specific Document Content Type from the Base Document CT, and added any new company wide columns to that new CT.

What are thoughts of upgrading a G4 from 10.3.9 to 10.5.2???

I have an imac G4, 1 GHz w/ 768 SDRAM and an external drive. I am wanting to upgrade to 10.5.2 with a family pac through ebay. I just purchased an ipod touch and it needs at least 10.4 to work. So, my question is, what has been the general concensus of doing this? If it is not good, I may avoid upgrading or going to 10.4 or just using the new macbook as it comes home with the daughter from college.

i've had OS 10.5 on my 17" iMac G4 for several months & have had no issues, in fact i love the new DVD player, also use screen spanning doctor w/ no issues. the problem you may encounter is these iMacs only have USB 1.1, not 2.0 so transfers will be slow.

First check your machine capabilities ...
That it is suitable for Snow Leopard.   It needs to be a Mac computer with a Core 2 Duo Intel processor.   Double check by reading the specs.

If you can run Snow leopard and have sufficient memory installed you can download Mavericks.    But first recheck that your machine meets the required specs for Mavericks.
But, and here is the big but, If you have a number of PPC programs or features that rely on the Rosetta platform, be prepared to lose them.   I understand that none of the OS's above Snow Leopard can work with Rosetta.   That is Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks.

Two primary steps
- define the trust certificates needed to verify the clients user certificates
Users and Identity Stores > Certificate Authorities
- change result of identity policy to select a certificate authorization profile. If have the defautl config
Access Policies > Access Services > Default Network Access > Identity
by default can select the "CN Username" as a result
