What are system variants and where they are stored in SAP?

i want to know the use of system variants . when we create the variants in reports. where these system variants are stored in sap system?

The variant are stored in tables
- VARI     ABAP/4: Variant storage (similar to INDX)
- VARID     Variant directory
- VARIT     Variant texts
You can access to these through function modules of group SVAR Variant maintenance (most of them begin with [RS_VARIANT_|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/advancedsearch?cat=sdn_all&query=rs_variant_*+&adv=false&sortby=cm_rnd_rankvalue])

System variants (CUS&, SAP&) are not editable when Client has status 'not modifiable' (as it is in productions system) also when edited in development system they are automatically transported.

I searched Help for "labels" and found only one reference - to Preferences, seemingly the only place the plural is used. I needed to search for "label" instead.
I agree the documentation is good, but IMHO, it is not a User Manual; it is a product Reference Guide. The software (A3 especially) is very flexible and comprehensive, so it is very difficult to use it in a workflow, as it will support many different approaches both to organizing pictures and editing them. I can understand why Apple does not document this for photograpers. IMHO they carry this to a bit of an extreme - even their Adjustments are not listed in a logical (to me) sequence. I hope I can adjust this. The Library needs careful planning, and there are no guidelines on how to organize it, just lots of description of its myriad features.
I too use labels to document my progress through my workflow. FYI, here is my old list. I used a different editor for my RAW pictures, and used Aperture to organize finished JPG's only. I'm changing that now, trying to make life simpler. so the process will change. My import software defaulted all pictures to 'maybe' (orange), and my first step was to cull them to bad (red) or selected (yellow) for further editing. However, the label data is stored in different fields by the two manufacturers, so another reason to change.

IMac monitor (my parents), the greys are so light and faint, they are almost impossible to see. especially in icalendar. i've gone into system preferences and i think i've tried everything there and checked the forums. no luck. any other suggestions?

Thank you. I didn't know about the universal access adjustment. All the way left is a little better, but still much fainter than on my own imac. I'm not sure why apple uses grey typeface, but it's so faint on this imac monitor that it was difficult to find the "reply" option on this post. Are there any other suggestions? thank you

You should get your keyboard checked as it's repeating on a lot of keys and makes you look silly.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

I blew my motherboard on an old computer and hooked my old hard drive to the new computer and want to transfer my bookmarks to the new drive but cannot find where they are located on the old drive--any help?

My motherboard went bad on my old computer, but the hard drive was OK. I purchased a new computer and hooked my old hard drive to it through a usb adapter. I would like to import or copy my bookmarks from the old hard drive to my new one, but I cannot find where they are. I was unable to determine this from searching articles on the web. Be advised that my old hard drive is basically nothing but a storage place for files at this point. My old operating system was windows XP, and my new system is Windows Home Premium.

List IPs/MACs of devices and switchport where they are plugged in

Hi there,
I'll be going out to an installation with a 6504 and a couple of dozend access switches to check for stuff that's plugged into the wrong port.
What I want to do is to create a list: what client-device (IP) is connected to what port.
Unfortunately there's no network management tool present on site that might help.
I have two ideas how to get there and perhaps anyone has done something like that before:
First, I'll scan the whole IP range of allowed adresses from the core. This will put all existing MAC adresses in the IP range into the core's ARP table.
Then read out ARP table and put all existing MACs in a file
Then prepare a script that works in one of the following ways:
1) centrally traceroute to each destination
for each [MAC from ARP table] do
ssh core-switch
traceroute mac MAC
Advantage: scripting is easier because I only ever log in to core-switch
Disadvantage: this requires to pass a variable (MAC) through from the script into the routine that runs in the called SSH-shell. Is that even possible?
I'm no scripting expert, so I'm not really sure...
2) locally collect all ARP-tables
for each [list of access-switches] do
ssh [Access-switch]
show mac address-table
then sort out everything where the ARP table does _not_ point to a local FE port (but to an uplink).
then enrich each entry with the name of the switch it was found on.
Advantage: no passing through of a variable into the SSH-subroutine necessary.
Disadvantage: have to enrich the data
Has someone ever encountered this problem before and perhaps has some smart script lying around? Any help would be apprechiated.

Open firefox and in the menu, go to:
Tools > Options
Choose the "General" section (light switch icon)
There should be a downloads block there. It says something like "Save files to [_____________][Browse...]"
you should be able to click on browse and see where the folder is located. Then hit CANCEL (so you don't change it by mistake before you have found it for sure)
Once you have found the files, if you would like, you can go back in and change the location setting to somewhere you would prefer if you do not like where they are saving to.

I have upgraded to IOS 7 and now I wish I did not as I have lost face time and iMessage and they would not get activated no mater what I have tried .it seems they are trying to get connected but are unable to do so.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

sy-tabix is in Internal table, current line index. So it can only be used while looping at the internal table.
sy-index is in Loops, number of current pass. This you can use in other loop statements also (like do-enddo loop, while-endwhile)
SY-INDEX is a counter for following loops: do...enddo, while..endwhile
SY-TABIX is a counter for LOOP...ENDLOOP, READ TABLE...
Here is an example from which you can understand the difference between sy-tabix and sy-index.
Itab is an internal table with the following data in it.
id Name
198 XYZ
475 ABC
545 PQR.
loop at itab where id > 300.
write :/ itab-id, itab-name , sy-tabix, sy-index.
endloop.
My output will be :
475 ABC 2 1
545 PQR 3 2
Sy-tabix is the index of the record in internal table.
sy-index gives the no of times of loop passes.
So, for the first record in the output (475 ABC), 2 is the index of the record in internal table and as it is first time loop pass occured, sy-index value is 1.

How do you move or can I move Itune folders (Movies), (TV Shows) and (Home Videos) to other internal hard drives (running out of space) on my computer's main hard drive and have Itunes recongize where they are?

I built my own computer which has 4 internal hard drives with 3 internal hard drives that are 3tb. With my movies and tv shows, I need to know if I can move the Itunes folders (Movies, TV shows and Home Video's) and move each one of them to 3 seperate internal hard drives while Itunes can still find them to play with my apple tv. Does anyone know how I can do it?

While you can do that, it is not a feature of iTunes. Put your movies on the external drive, then add them to iTunes by dragging the files to iTunes while holding the option (alt) key down so it leaves the files where they are located. Check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on both your iPhone and your iPad to make sure that the following are all true:
(1) you have selected the same Apple ID on both devices,
(2) you have the same entries checked under "You can be reached by iMessage at:" on both devices,
(3) you have the same entry checked under "Start new conversations from:" on both devices,
and
(4) that the entry checked in #3 is one of those checked in #2 on both devices.
