What are Tabs in the Bookmark Column?

Can't figure out what 'tabs' are in the bookmark drop down in Safari - looks like I added a web page to whatever tabs are by mistake and now I can't delete it. I'm a recent convert from windoze so please be gentle with me!

  • In windows 8 how do you make the bookmarks column "flexible"? I used to be able to make it narrower.

Windows 8 how do you make the bookmarks column "flexible"?

Is the problem with the Bookmarks Sidebar -- the one you can open and close by pressing Ctrl+b? It does seem to have a minimum width and won't get narrower than that, but I'm not sure whether you are running into that limitation or whether for some reason you are not getting the resizing arrow when you mouse over the thin border between the sidebar and the page.

  • Where is the refresh tab under the view column that use to be there?

Up until FF 4.0 was installed, I use to be able to click on the refresh tab in the view column and refresh the current page. Not anymore. What happened to it and how to I access that feature?

I finally found the button. Nevermind.

  • What are differences between the target tablespace and the source tablespac

The IMPDP command create so manay errors. But the EXAMPLE tablespace is transported to the target database successfully. It seems that the transported tablespace is no difference with the source tablespace.
    Why create so many errors?
    How to avoid these errors?

Short of trying to then reverse-engineer the objects that are in the dump file (I believe Data Pump export files contain some XML representations of DDL in addition to various binary bits, making it potentially possible to try to scan the dump file for the object definitions), I would tend to assume that the export didn't include those type definitions.
Since it looks like you're trying to set up the sample schemas, is there a reason that you wouldn't just run the sample schema setup scripts on the destination database? Why are you using Data Pump in the first place?

  • Firefox 3.6 had a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Bookmarks Pull down menu. How can I "Bookmark All Tabs" using Firefox 4.0.1

I recently updated to Firefox 4.0.1 from Firefox 3.6. Firefox 3.6 had a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Bookmarks pull down menu. There isn't a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Firefox 4.0.1 Bookmarks pull down menu. Has this feature been eliminated from Firefox 4.0.1? If I want to save 24 tabs in one window of Firefox and 14 tabs in another window of Firefox, do I have to save all the tabs individually? How can I set the options, preferences, etc. so that I can "Bookmark All Tabs" at once in a window of Firefox 4.0.1. I am running Firefox 4.0.1 on a desktop computer with Windows7 Professional OS with Firefox as my default browser.

Right click a tab and you will get the option to bookmark all tabs. Or use keyboard '''Alt + B''' which opens the old style menu. You can make changes to Firefox, as explained in this post: [/questions/799856#answer-155765]

  • What are solutions to the "Unexpected error while attempting to bind.  Operation cancelled." message when trying to bind

What are solutions to the "Unexpected error while attempting to bind.  Operation cancelled." message when trying to bind and i alreeady cheack my DNS settings and everything

Has this worked before, or is this a new configuration?
On the server, launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and post the output of the following harmless diagnostic command — and you'll need to enter an administrative password when requested:
    sudo changeip -checkhostname
On the OS X (presumably) Mavericks client, please post the IP address(es) of the DNS server(s) you're referencing.  These are available via the System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS settings.
To check the console logs, launch Console.app from Applications > Utilities on both the client and the server, and then attempt the binding, and then post a (short! no more than ~25 to 50 lines!) of any errors related to the binding error.
If you're not in a position to post configuration details here — which is perfectly reasonable, and entirely your prerogative — or if I'm getting too confusing or too technical with some of the questions here, which would be my error of course — then (assuming these systems are under warranty) I'd suggest contacting the folks at the local Apple Store and having a chat with the local Geniuses about this, or checking directly with the Apple Support folks via telephone.

  • Alphabetize Bookmarks folders in the Bookmarks column

Could anybody tell me how to alphabetize Safari's bookmarks folders in the Bookmarks column other than doing it by hand one at a time???
    Appreciate your help
    Al

I have created a free App utilizing the very popular “Sortosaurus” command line script created by James Howard. It creates a backup prior to sorting. No need to fire up the scary Terminal app. I have wrapped it all up in a friendly step by step GUI format. Fast, simple and safe.

What are some of the best clear cases for the iPhone 5c that can protect the phone well?

I was wondering the same thing?  I have a hard time with buying a case, because I bought the phone because of the color it already is!  lol
I was thinking about going with something like the Spigen Case Bumper.  Still allows you to see the color of the phone and still have protection.

What are some of the best & compact fax/printers compatible with Mac?

Most any All In One printer/fax/copy will work with a Mac running OS X.
The best thing you can do is pick one out based on cost and features then check whether there are drivers for it or if it is AirPrint compatible.

  • I can change the tab location w/respect to the address bar, but what are "tab controls?" Can't find that explanation.

From your web site re: tabs on top- Why was this Change Made?
The main reason is that it just makes more sense. With tabs underneath, the tab and the controls were grouped together and the page was separate. With tabs on top they are now all grouped together so that each tab has it's own set of controls.
What are the "controls" of which you speak?

The article you looked at will have been
*[[How do I put tabs back on bottom like they used to be?]]
and it will have been the version of that article relating to the current Release.
I think the mention controls relates the fact that the reload and bookmarks star, and the zoom icon if you use it all clearly relate to the individual tab and the redesign makes that easier to understand.
Note that from Firefox 29 the tabs underneath will no longer be an option even from the about:config. I imagine there are or will be addons to customise Firefox so that tabs can be underneath again.
Also note that right clicking a tab gives a list of options including to pin the tab
    * [[Pinned Tabs - keep favorite websites open and just a click away]]
*There are also the currently advert free new tabs which are customisable <br /> [[New Tab Page – show, hide and customize top sites]]

  • Now my bookmarks are gone from the bookmark list

This started with the issue of my bookmarks only saving to recently bookmarked and that only stored a few and then they were lost. I then went into the organize bookmarks and tried to "move" the recent bookmark to the regular list, it somehow showed up in a file the was in the recently bookmarked section - which I fear will be lost after saving more bookmarks. Then after exiting firefox and going back into my entire list of bookmarks is now not in the drop down list when I click on my bookmarks. It is still showing in the library though so I know they are not lost. How do I set my bookmarks back to show when I click on the bookmarks tab and get my new bookmarks to show in the list instead of the recently bookmarked section which I now have to go to the library to see. I have firefox 3.5.1 and this happened after downloading this new update - by accident I might add. Can I uninstall this version and install a previous version will it make the change for me? It seems this should be an easy fix. Also as a side note, I did disable all of my plugins and that did not fix the issue - so I re enabled them. I only have one extension and my theme is the regular theme. So, none of those solutions are fixing this. I would be happy to just go to a previous version of firefox since I accidently upgraded to this anyway, I hit the wrong button.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • When opening a new tab from the bookmark it opens in a section of the screen

sometimes I open bookmark link from the favourites, it happens regularly that those do not open in a new tab or window but in a portion of the screen, as if I pressed Ctrl B and opened it in there in the bookmark.
Your prompt reply is much appreciated

Opening in the Sidebar is the default action for bookmarks that are created via a "Bookmark this Page" link or button on a website. Make sure you use the many "Bookmark this Page" methods that are in Firefox instead.
Right-click that bookmark and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.
