What are the 'Crystal Beach' drivers?

Okay, so I was installing Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on my 2011 15" Macbook Pro. The install went fine, and I only have a minor curiousity. During the driver software install from my OS X disk, it said that it was installing the "Crystal Beach" drivers. Do any of you know what these are for? Thanks in advance.

Looked it up right now ...
seems to be the driver for the “Crystal Beach” (DMA) chip from Intel.
Did not double check though.

  • What are the openoffice database drivers to establish JDBC? how to code?

    I want to use open office database .Please help me how to code inorder to link that open office database with java using jsps.Please tell me.

    You can find information on how to connect here http://dba.openoffice.org/FAQ/specific.html.
    Apparently, it is simply mySQL. There is a lot of documentation on the web on how to establish a mySQL JDBC connection. You will need the mySQL connector JAR for the JDBC classes, which can be downloaded from mySQL.
    To stitch together a JSP all the way to the back end, you will likely have to do this yourself. There are dozens of tutorials and examples, even cookbooks for how to do so.

  • What are the benefits of 64-bit computing?

    What are the benefits of 64-bit computing?
    From what I understand, the only benefits are the ability of the OS to address memory ranges beyond 2GB. Or is it 4GB? I can't remember.
    Anyway, I have no intention of expanding my Intel MacBook's memory beyond its built-in 2GB RAM.

    I think that the ram advantages of 64 bit computers is just a minor issue with most existing Mac computers. The average user today has between 2 to 8 GB's of ram. This amount of ram is easily handled by existing OS's like Leopard.
    I believe that the actual benefits for most users will be when the code of their applications is re-written to run in 64 bit code.
    From Apples Page on New Technologies: "It can also enable computers to crunch twice the data per clock cycle, which can dramatically speed up numeric calculations and other tasks." And on the same page: "64-bit applications can use more advanced security techniques to fend off malicious code".
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/technology/
    The 'twice the data per clock cycle' will affect all users regardless of how much ram they have or plan to buy for their machines. More data per cycle means more speed. Better security built into the OS is always a plus.
    This is why a MBP with a 3GB limit will still want to run a 64 bit application, and my new iMac with an 8GB limit will still benefit from Snow Leopard.
    I view all this extra memory abilities as something very far off for Mac users today. Ram prices will have to go down even lower, new machines will have to be bought with new ram management chips, etc.
    Meanwhile, most of Apple's applications are currently running in 64 bit even if the Kernal is running at 32 bit, and other companies (like Adobe) should be coming out with 64 bit versions of their applications. Most experts agree that since the Kernal runs very low-level functions, it won't benefit from 64-bit operation near as much as user applications.
    The big delays here, are for hardware drivers to work in 64 bit, and also for helper applications like Flash. Apple knew this going into the SL project. It's going to take a year or so until almost all of our programs are upgraded. Meanwhile, both 32 bit and 64 bit programs will run on Snow Leopard.

  • What are the real minimum requirements for Mountain Lion?

    What are the real minimum requirements for Mountain Lion. Currently running Snow Leopard. I have a late 2006 Model: iMac6,1. Specs: 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo, 3 GB 667 MHz DDR2, and the optional nVidia GeForce 7600GT c/w 256MB GDDR2. The advertisement is stating a 2007 model as the minumum, however the fastest 2006 Gen Plastic iMac should be faster then the slowest 2007 Gen Aluminum iMac7,1?

    From a previous posting from some else, I saw it was the 32bit versus 64bit video card driver being the issue. I was wondering if the optional video card I have installed also was limited to the 32bit issue. 64bit drivers exist for the 7600 GT GPU.

  • What are the needed tools for JDBC???

    iam new to this field, i want to know what are the required tools for JDBC??
    i know that i need java.sql and javax.sql packages, but how can i get them???
    what about the drivers???
    thnx in advance

    You need to go to the vendor's web site such as Oracle and download the jar file for that particular database. Example: ojdbc14.jar for an oracle database and copy it to the 'lib' folder of your project and then include it with your project. Within that jar file, you will have datasource, preparedStatement, resultSet objects. You will need to read up on how to instansiate the datasource for that database from the vendor's documentation.

  • What are the best practice in report design ?

    Hi,
    According to you, what are the best practices in report desing about layout, fonts and colors ?
    Thks

    Hi,
    It all depends that what type of report you are designing and what tool you are using - WebI or Crystal.
    And in WebI, if it is cross tab or Tabular report etc.
    One most important thing is that what is client requirement. May be client does not like which is best practice.
    On the base of my personal experience I will create few demo reports using different options - layout, colors and fonts and show them to client so that they may decide.

  • What are the steps for using Bobj with ECC

    Hi,
    I have the ECC 6 with EHP4 system, now i want to use BusinessObjects for reporting purpose. I dont have the BI installed, What are the pre-requisit for installaing and using Bobj with web intelegence and crystal report. Dose BI is must for bobj to work? Please explain in steps what are the things i have to do.
    Thanks
    Rajib Imran

    It looks like you are new to BOBJ. BI is the service name and BOBJ is the product name in SAP.
    Since you have not mentioned your version of BOBJ, I assume you are in the latest version...
    To date, there is no direct connectivity available between ECC and BI 4.0 (current release of BOBJ).
    You may need to use one of some of the following ways:
    1. Using Plug and play Rapid marts (using Data Services)
    2. Build your own custom marts (using Data Services)
    3. Building SAP BW and using SAP integration kit
    Having said, there is a plan for direct connectivity between SAP ECC and BI 4.0 in the upcoming enhancement to BI 4.0.
    Please refer the link below for more details:

  • There are many jre exe files: what are the differences and which I choose?

    Having some problems, that I will describe in another message, I was looking for the latest jre.
    I saw that on www.java.com there is 6 update 1, whereas on www.sun.com there is already 6 update 2. So, I would like to know when an update is made available on www.java.com and through automatic updates?
    Also, I saw different names, and I would like to understand in an exact way what are the differences:
    jre-6-windows-i586.exe;
    jre-6-windows-i586-iftw.exe;
    jre-6u1-windows-i586-p-s.exe;
    jre-6u1-windows-i586-p-iftw.exe;
    jre-6u2-windows-i586-p.exe;
    jre-6u2-windows-i586-p-iftw.exe;
    I understand that te iftw part means the it is a small download, only the setup module. But why there are some files that end with "-p", some with "-p-s", sm with "-i586"?
    Thank You

    The question mark icon on the dlls indicates that LabVIEW is unsure of
    the location of the DLL, or is unable to locate the DLL on your
    system.  This can happen if the DLLs do not exist, or if the "Call
    Library Function Node" just specifies the name of the dll, and not the
    entire path to the dll.  IVI and Instrument driver VIs will
    typically not supply the entire path to the DLL, whch would cause the
    question mark icon to appear.
    If your application is working properly, then you should ignore the
    question mark in the dependencies list.  If your application is
    broken because the DLLs cannot be found, they are installed with the
    following drivers:
    ivi.dll is installed with the IVI compliance package, which is available at the following link:

    You should also install the latest version of NI-VISA, which is required by the IVI Compliance Package:

    What are the ways to control CPU usage precisely in database host that has multiple 10g instances. I fear that particular instances

And what do you do with that spare CPU cycles? Imagine that things are now better as the CPU utilisation has dropped by 10% or so?
    What are the ways to control CPU usage precisely in database host that has multiple 10g instances. That is the kernel's job. Or do you think you know better than the very sophisticated processing and scheduling models that the kernel support - and should override that and control that from userspace?
    I fear that particular instances overallocate CPU resource on the host and this affects performance of other instances on the host if CPU_COUNT value is set to default for every instances. Sounds like baloney to me. What you fear and not not fear does not change reality. What is the reality? What is the problem? In crystal clear technical details?
