What are the effects on BW when R/3 system is down?

Hi BW Experts,
What are the effects on BW system, when R/3 systems are down for maintenance?
And what care we need to take towards BW during the down time?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Sunil.

Hi Sunil,
when R/3 system is down the BW daily loads & weekly loads will fail.
the best solution is you can reschedule the job when R/3 is Up.
You can cancel the running jobs by going through
SM37 -- > select that particular job --> JOB (in menu bar) --> select released --> schedule option.

what is the effect called example: when you jump a ski jump and you see each frame

I think what you are looking for is Time Remapping .. select the clip and then apply the rime remapping to suit .. when applied you can catch the top right or left edge and slow it down further. The faster you can record in frames per second the better. OIf the effect needs really good quality then go down to video quality and select Optical Flow

  • What are the username and password when i click the ICM of JavaEE5@SAP

when i click the ICM of JavaEE5@SAP in the sapmanagement console mmc, It need i input the username and password for Web_admin, What are the username and password when i click the ICM of JavaEE5@SAP and which tools act the role as the VisualAdministrator of NetWeaver04s and NetWeaver2004s?
    thank you very much

    Hello Guoging,
you can login to ICM with username Administrator and password abc123. That is described in the start.html file, which you can find in the unzipped Downloadpackage of SAP NetWeaver Java EE 5 Edition.
You can use NetWeaverAdministrator(NWA) or config tool to configure this edition. NWA
needs to be installed separately. If you have a default installation, go to
C:SAPJP1JC00j2eeNWAdmin and execute the file install.bat. Ensure that NetWeaver is running, enter user Administrator und the Masterpassword you chose during installation and wait around 20 Minutes or more. NWA is started automatically after installation has finished in your webbrowser.
For more information on NWA read the Administrationguide

  • What are the levels and points when you go to yor profile here on the website

what are the levels and points when you go to your profile here on the website? and what do they do?

    Welcome!
The level system is rather thinnly explained in this ASC tutorial:
Reputation points, status levels and privileges
What you get for it--that I know of--is that, at Level 2, you get the privilege of using the "Report Abuse" function to tell the Hosts about an abusive poster, inappropriate post, or even to ask that a post be moved to another, more appropriate forum area for the subject matter.
At Level 6, you get Lounge privileges where you have direct access to the ASC Hosts for helping with forum function issues, and to an area where you can hobnob with other Wizards.
The list of all ASC tutorials is here:

  • What are the mapfiles for and when should I use them?

    Hi,
what are the map files for and why/when should I use them?
    /usr/lib/ld/map.noexstk
    usr/lib/ld/map.noexbss
    /usr/lib/ld/map.noexdata
    /usr/lib/ld/map.pagealign

Hi, I'm sure you've read the comments, but for the benefit of those who haven't: /usr/lib/ld/map.noexstk # Linker mapfile to create a non-executable stack definition within an # executable. /usr/lib/ld/map.noexbss # Link-editor mapfile to create a non-executable bss segment definition # within an executable. /usr/lib/ld/map.noexdata # Link-editor mapfile to create a non-executable data segment definition # within an executable. These stop the various segments from being executable. Which could reduce the risk surface for exploiting security holes in an application. /usr/lib/ld/map.pagealign # Linker mapfile to create page-aligned data within an executable. Aligning the start of the data segment can reduce the number of TLB entries needed to map the data. So the smallest TLB page size is 8KB, then we have 64KB, then 4MB etc. If the data starts on a 4MB boundary then it can be mapped with 4MB pages, if not then it has to be mapped with 8KB pages until a 64KB boundary, then 64KB pages until we get to a 4MB boundary. You sometimes get a bit of performance from this, but you may also get performance stability from it. If the mapping is random sometimes it works well, sometimes it works less well. Regards, Darryl.

  • What are the boxes that appear when I scroll over them at the top and bottom of a Pages document, and how do I get rid of them?

While types a blank document on pages, there are "invisible" boxes at the top and bottom of each page, and they only appear when I scroll over them. Does anyone know what these boxes are, and how i can get rid of them from my paper?

Those are the Header and Footer spaces. You remove them using the Document Inspector. Uncheck the "Headers" and "Footers" checkboxes shown checked here:

  • What are the little filling circles when you click on a mailbox

in regards to .mac via mail application, what is the the circle that fills up like a pie being cut backwards when you click a mailbox??

    You're welcome.
Everynow and then, I goto close out Mail, and the screen goes away,
but the dock icon and menubar still stay active...for a bit or so, then
closes. Is this due to the same "activity?"
    The answer is yes.
Depending on your settings for automatically deleting messages from an account's Junk or Trash mailbox, activity will occur.
Launch the Activity Viewer - at the menu bar go to Window and select Activity Viewer.
When quitting Mail, any activity should be shown in the Activity Viewer.

  • What are the effects to plug-in development when updating InDesign CS version to CC version?

Will there be a CC version SDK available? Or the CS6 plug-ins can be loaded in CC version? Otherwise the plug-ins are required to be re-compiled?
Is there any official documentation about the inDesign development in CC?
    Thanks a lot.

The plug-in for InDesign CS6 is incompatible with InDesign CC.
InDesign CC is a 64-bit application, Cocoa native on Mac OS.
You need to use the SDK for InDesign CC, but not available yet.

  • What are the effects of changing master data in bw

    hi gurus
we have changed a plant (#1234) master data it was under comapany code(12) now it is under comapny code(59) on the r3 side, now there is data in the cubes already which was loaded before the change, and we still want to use it, but since master data has changed and reloded, what will happen when i run reports on the old data,
secondly i know i can use time dependant objects but my question is what will happen if i dont use it. will the old data run fine under the new comapny code?  and what other things will this change effect.

ok whats confusing me is that suppose we have this record in the cube
    Comp Code       Plant     kf
       16                   9823     45
comp code & region is an attr of plant and this is the new master data
    plant     comp code  region
    9823        39              CA
and this is old master data
    plant     comp code  region
    9823        16              TX
now when the user tries to drill down by region on that transaction record what will he get for region

  • What are the hidden files displayed when entering "ls -a" in Terminal?

When you type "ls -a" into the Terminal to display all the files in a particular directory it often displays three hidden files - one call ".DS_Store" which I understand but two other simply names "." and ".." which I have not been able to find any information about. Does anyone know what these are?

    "They aren't actual items"
Partly true, they can be, and are used commonly as substitutes for the current directory and the parent
    directory. example:
the command "cd .." will move you inside the parent directory.
in the example below the command "cd .." moved me from
    "/Users/kj" to "/Users":
    Betsy7:~ kj$ cd ..
    Betsy7:Users kj$
In the next example the "." is used to direct the path
to a file in the current Documents directory for renaming (with the mv command):
    Betsy7:Documents kj$ mv ./book.txt ./mybook.txt
    Kj

  • G5 2GHZ what are the effects of low or unstable power supply on a G5?

    Hello
I have installed a identical 3 G5 avid systems in prague for editing. 2 of the systems work fine. Third station has a recurring problem. For some reason, at a given moment, the G5 starts having very strong fan flutters, locks up and then won't restart. When it does restart some minutes later it either works fine or it can have a kernel panic. When the machine is returned to the office, the machine works fine and the problem does not recur. Hence, I figure it is something to with the installation or its location. I have started to put aside the other avid equipment aside as culprits as the result is the same even when I soft accessories around.
You may say that the machine is dead etc. The thing that is very strange is that THIS IS THE THRID MACHINE I HAVE REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES.
I have not yet exorcised the room but I might try. In the mean time, I am wondering if there is a power supply issue at the socket. The system has a UPS for power protection. Any ideas?

    chlowden-
Yup, I am leaning towards AC. Do you have any way of testing the outlets? It could be a bad ground or something along those lines.
Do the UPS's have Automatic Voltage Regulation? If it does not, it is possible that the sags are being passed on to your equipment, especially if the UPS threshold is low.
