Hey,
can someone explain me the exactly characteristics of a "Optimistic Cache".
On the Wikipage is a short explanation http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH34UG/Types+of+Caches+in+Coherence
but for me is this Definition not obvious.
for example:
"...two cluster members are independently pruning or purging the underlying local stores, it is possible that a cluster member may have a different store content than that held by another cluster member." i think this clear when no concurrency control is given but what are the key characteristics? and the differences comparing to the other Caching strategies?

After Looking into the forums many days I had a small conclusion about forums,
SAP Forums are better place I have seen for getting a goo dhelp & Knowledge...
Why can't we make it a BEST Place.

When cleared, But still they want to have a Spoon feeding with a Sample Code.
When Sample Code Given they will provide the original code and requests for Modifications.
These always looks to me as crazy.
I have seen somelong time agin by moderators posting that In SCN there will be no SPOON FEEDING.
I am not sure whether if still this Rule AVAILABLE or NOT.
Ok if the task is really difficult let them ask again and again,
And it was not replied, let them repost, I agree with them.
And How about a User Registered in SDN very long back and asking for a silly question in below thread,

User is always intelligent, Only the weakness is in Contributor, trying to help them,..,
And I openly say that Someone requesting for basic help is not DUMB, But the Contributor replying forgets
the basic rules " Why Contributing ?"
According to me It's not the Requestor to see Rules & Requlations before posting the threads,
But its responsibilty for the Contributing person to see th Rules & Requlations before replying the threads,
If we follow the rules and stand on a single word or rule or anything there will be Good Result.
Major Problem is in US not anyone else.
Example Some one saying search in the forum,,, then please no replies after that...
But we are very pity hearted again we post the solution,,,
But it is not at all enough(for cintribtor's)... they will copy the solution and post again by slight Modifications,
And Some users are having 500,600,700,800 Posts with 0 points, registered long long back.
They are completly dependent on forums,,, As they goto office and as they eat, The same they open forums and ask Queries...
They will never realize what they are doing,, and we will never let them improve better...

First tell me a little something about my self...
After completion of my certification(as a fresher) I was down the streets hunting the job,
with the insufficient knowledge and being a non-experienced person, I never got one.
And mean while when I got my "S-UserID", I used to be proud, To say frankly, I registerd in SDN & SAP all at a time, without even knowing what I can do there..,
When I got a job afterwords I was doing the job and never seen SDN page for many months,
when I came to know that of we have doubts we can post at SDN. then started requesting help,
I posted only a little, I didnot got the proper response. on that day I decided,
still there are some places where we cannot get help on time and there will be people waiting to get help,
Why cant I put some of my efforts to help others.
Then I searched some topic by Topic in SDN topic by Topic I used to read threads just for knowledge.
when I feel my self comfort for contributing, I started contibuting...!
If you haven't read it, take a look first, so you can understand where things are now.
I dont know where things are now. But these in this thread I mentioned clearly what I seen from the day I started contributing.
I searched with the terms of 'Rules for replying', The results are not as I expected, and this link has subject as
"O SDN, where art thou?" So it dosent hit my in the list.
Like everybody until a certain stage I am also rushing for points.
But I most cases I never tried to copy paste answers. If I done some then that is just to point it myself some day,
I have no hopes or no intrest on the points...! This was discussed with Rob & Matt, at my inital contribution where my points are 36.
From that day till date I have changed a lot to myself.
Everyone cannot change like me because they are not like me & And I dont even expect that...!
I will be online almost 6-8Hrs a day, Not even getting intrest to see the forums just because of the co-contributors.
My only point is I am just requesting to a co-contributor,
Clearly In a example : Lets say contributor has replied to a thread, and if you know that is a correct solution,
please dont reply any more, If you have a better solution than that, then only reply,
Even there is one reply in the thread not a matter, if correct answer leave that query.
If still error persists, Show up with your Idea's...
Dont let down the contributor, by copying his reply and editing and pasting(edit only if incorrect).
I am just looking for this one exactly to circulate between ourselfs.
For this we a little support from moderators to circulate(may be as a rule or may be as a mail to them)
You may say again how many mails we have to send, It dosent matter, one mail to one person one time,
and +ve factors will show up definetly.
A real contributor always understand what I am talking about, but some one who hunts for points will never.

MacBookAir definitely favors portability and sports a dual core i5 at 1.5GHz (max RAM is 4GB not user upgradable)

What are the exact connections to a BNC2110 to test event counters in MAX?

I am trying to test my 6034E / BNC-2110 setup, using MAX. The
anallog inputs seem fine, but I am having trouble getting external
events counted by Counter 0 or 1. I am testing the device using
Test Panels in MAX. What is the precise wiring to do this
properly? Also, do the counters require repetitive TTL events, or
can I just twiddle 5 volts on and off by hand, to watch the
counter?

Hello sonarman,
When you are using test panels in MAX, you should be able to pick the "Edge Source" to be whatever PFI line you want to connect your signal to on the BNC 2110. For example, when I try this I choose my Edge Source to be Dev1/PFI1 so I would connect to this terminal in the digital and timing I/O section of the 2110.
If you do not see what I describe, you may have an older version of NI-DAQmx and you might upgrade to NI-DAQmx 7.5.
You may be able to just switch 5V on and off depending on how fast the voltage actually changes. The counter needs the rise time to be within TTL specifications. If this isn't working, then I would try using a TTL pulse. You can produce TTL pulses with your second counter if you need to using an example program.

What are the "EXACT" requirements for Yosemite install on iMac 5.1 (fails on wk 27 2007 build with OS X.6.8)??

My iMac seems to meet all of the stated requirements
Ie: Mid 2007 or newer, 2GB RAM, 50+GB HD space, OS X.6.8. Yet it gives an error of "Cannot install Yosemite on this computer" after attempting an update/install. No other useful information is given and just re-presents the same system requirements over and over with no help.

What are the exact steps to export a sequence from FCE 4 to idvd.

New to mac/FCE, I have attempted to export sequence to quick time movie then save onto desktop. Then I just dragged the quick time movie from desktop into idvd. This worked, but is there a better way. Thanks - Chad

That's the way you do it. If you making the DVD right away and have finished work on the project you can export a reference movie, not self-contained, smaller and quicker.

What are the exact steps needed to create a slideshow?

When I follow the steps indicated in the help section of QT pro, all I get is a one slide only movie! It is a bit frustrating since I purchased this software mostly to be able to create slide shows. What are the advantages/disadvantages to "Save Media Cache files next to originals when possible?

I just noticed that I have over 7,000 files and 46.7 GB in my Media Cache Files folder. I know I can just delete all the files in this folder and Premiere will automatically rebuild the files when needed. But, are there any advantages or disadvantages to saving the files next to the originals? I assume that means that it will write these files wherever I'm storing my media files...

I'd say storing your cache with your media would decrease your performance. Having them on separate volumes/drives means that Premiere can read/write from them at the same time, instead of having to read/write one or the other, one at a time.
Additionally, PPro is create cache files from your original media, and it's always best practice to read from one drive, while writing to another.

What are the "Add to Loop Library" requirements for creating automatically conforming loops?

I am trying to create my own loops that conform to the tempo and key of a song. I have made several loops in this way by selecting a region that is exactly 4 bars, for example, and then selecting "Add to Loop Library". If the sample is cut correctly, the "Type:" field is enabled which allows you to make it a Loop and therefore have it automatically conform to the song tempo.
In the past I have made loops that were very long, up to 128 beats, for the purpose of making mashups using instrumental tracks that I want to conform to the song. I now can't seem to create a large loop but I am not sure why. I know it is possible, but I don't know the steps I took to get there.

The longest loop I managed to save as "Loop" had 55 measures (220 beats, 203 bpm). Longer loops could only be saved as "One shot". And the loop had to be cut at the end, not simply be trimmed by dragging the end of the region. The tempo matters; for a slow song the loop can only have fewer measures.

After a bit of testing I think that a video rate of 622 kbps is used when selecting the internal Movie to iPod export option.
This results in 750 kbps when audio is 128 kbps.
Short videos in iTunes Music Store use 622 kbps video rate (Michael Jackson Billie Jean and Bad, Pixar For the Birds).
Longer videos used 570 kbps video rate (Michael Jackson Thriller, ABC - Lost).

So I'm in the Apple store with $10k burning a hole in my pocket. I am a windows developer and now want to start developing mobile apps for the ipad and iphone that will go as far as magazines with video.
But no-one has a clue what system I need. The only thing they will say is...anything that runs snow leopard.
Well, that's a bit of an issue. I need something with some obvious horsepower in ram and on the harddisk. Since apple manages memory and code differently than a windows machine, I have no idea what to buy. Do I need a dual processor or not?
So I'm in the store and I register online to the ios sdk, because they are quoting a readme document that details the full system requirements. But it's nowhere to be found. I am then told that I have to download the whole sdk to get access to this readme document. Funny, but I haven't bought the system yet to download it to.....chicken and egg, right?
So can someone out there please tell me how much it's going to cost to get into the game, to create the magazines with video content, similar to National Geographic? I don't want to buy some cheap leopard machine only to find out that I can't upgrade the memory or that I have to get a different machine because what I bought was inadequate for my applications, because it wasn't fast enough to process etc....

I know nothing about iOS; however, the best machine, IMO, would be the new 27" i7 iMac. Get 3rd-party RAM to go to 16 GB, and get the video card update. Whether or not you want an SSD is a personal choice. For me, it's not worth the cost, just get a 2 TB internal HD. That's all the hand-holding I can offer.
