What Are the Fundamental Concepts of iPod Storage?

I am beginning to understand better and better the limitations of iTunes and working with a centralized storage device on my home network.
Now, my son wants to import only select tunes onto his iPod. He's telling me that he must import ALL of the music in the iTunes library. If he imports all of the music on the central storage device, it won't all fit.
Can we select only certain tunes or can we create a playlist that is the only set of tunes synchronized with the iPod?

Going down a level, what are the fundamental tasks you must execute within any of the fundamental procurement workflows mentioned above?
Any input you'd give on these questions will help us improve how Help is organized and written as we go forward. It will be greatly appreciated.

What are the fundamentals concepts to know about BEX Queries on Multi Cube?

Hi ALL,
i have executed a Bex Query on a Multi Cube (2 Cubes: SalesAnalysis, SalesAnalysisHistoric) but i havn't received the same data that we have in R/3, after i have executed the same query on just one cube (SalesAnalysis) and the result it was correct.
please can Somebody explain me the basic concept relation between the datatargets when i execute a query on a Multicube? how BW server try to find data and what is the criteria and the relation between the various caracteristics and key figures of the Multicube components? there some fundamentals join?
when i create i query on a Multicube and i choose a caracteristic or a key figure how can i know that caracteristic or key figure is from one cube or another cube?

Hi Bilal,
Multiprovider is not a join, it is actually a union of the data. So all the data of the base data targets used in the MP will combine subject to the settings made in identification and selection screens of the multiprovider. In the query designer, the source of the KF or char is transparent to you....you cannot make out until you open the MP in the edit mode.

Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

What are the movie to iPod video settings?

I wonder, what are the exact video settings corresponding to selecting "Movie to iPod" when exporting?
The settings left to consider for Movie to MPEG-4 when using H.264 320 x 240 are:
Bitrate: ? kbps
Optimized for: CD / Fetch / Stream
Frame rate
Sync every ? frames
And the advanced video settings:
Limit description to: Main, Extended, Baseline
Encoding: Best / Fast

After a bit of testing I think that a video rate of 622 kbps is used when selecting the internal Movie to iPod export option.
This results in 750 kbps when audio is 128 kbps.
Short videos in iTunes Music Store use 622 kbps video rate (Michael Jackson Billie Jean and Bad, Pixar For the Birds).
Longer videos used 570 kbps video rate (Michael Jackson Thriller, ABC - Lost).
However my original question was what settings to use to match the Movie to iPod export option.

I am so disappointed with the battery life on my iPod Touch 4G, even when I turn off location services and notifications and put it in airplane mode.
As such, I realize that I am going to have to get an external backup battery, even though I don't like the idea of carrying around yet another item.
What are the best choices out there, especially any ultra-portable (aka small and non-bulky) ones? I came across this Juice Pack Air - iPod Touch 4G Case, which seems like the perfect solution, but it is on back order and seems to have been so for a good amount of time. Who knows when it will be in stock again.

To add to Nick's comments, "Other" is typically approximately 1 gigabyte. Occasionally for some users, it gets much (many times) bigger because they have some corrupt files. If that's the case, it's best to restore the iPhone.
Plug the iPhone into (current) iTunes, let it sync, then choose "Restore" on the right. If restoring from the iPhone backup does not help, then restore (again) as new and then manaully sync the iPhone.

I currently use the Monster device that plugs into the electrical adapter (former cigarrette lighter!) in the car. It's a pain in the neck to manually search for unused FM stations on a long trip. I want something that automatically searches for unsused FM stations or, better yet, that will allow me to somehow connect the iPod into the CD player or directly to the radio itself. I have a 2004 Toyota Highlander.

If you have files with the .m4v or .m4a extension its better to change them to .mp4. The M4 extensions will sometimes download in the browser instead of playing.
