What are the mac friendly Memory Rams on Market?

I have Macbook pro mid-09 model. it has 2Gb memory.
What is the compatible brand or brands with mac?
Is the limit 8 gb at most on the macbook pro?
Please post if you have any good or bad experiences with any brand of ram. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
thanks

Whatever meets the specifications for your computer as noted in your user manual. No particular brand is known to be better than any other including non-name brands.

Did you actually mean version 10, as in Illustrator 10 from 2001?
    If so:
    • Your G4 with OS X 10.4 (2005-2007) would probably run it, (using Rosetta if needed / PPC based).
    • OS X 10.9 will definitely not allow install or run it.
    Illustrator 10: System Requirements
    • Macintosh: Power PC Processor G3, G4, or G4 dual; Mac OS software 9.1, 9.2 or Mac OS X 10.1; 128 MB Ram; 180 MB available disk space; For Postscript printing, printers capable of Adobe PS levels2 or 3.
    • Windows: Intel Pentium II and above; Windows 98 and above; 128 MB Ram; 180 MB available disk space; For Postscript printing, printers capable of Adobe PS levels2 or 3.

    ibodnano:
You will find internal optical drivers from OWC here. You will find external DVD burners from OWC here.
For the external drives, almost any Firewire burner will be supported by your PowerBook. Here are a few. You can further refine the filters.
    Good luck.

  • What are the largest sized memory cards that can be swapped into a macmini 2.6GHz i7 quadcore

What are the largest sized replacement memory cards that can be used in a new macmini 2.6MHz i7 quad core? I see samsung has some 16GB cards and was wondering if the macmini can be jacked up to 32GB instead of the apple store configuration of 2x8GB or 16GB total.

I called Apple Support cause I just purchased my Macmini and found out that it is a memory stick slot issue of some sort. If there were 4 slots instead of two, then you could have 32GB of memory. So it appears to be a board layout issue when apple layed out the processor board they did not allow for enough address bus width for the memory slots cause the intel processor chip will support up to 32GB of memory. Apparently others have tried to put 2x16GB into macminis and have all been unsuccessful thus far. I guess someone could go in and whitewire their processor board but that would be insanely over the top. :-)

  • What are the licensing terms for Creative Cloud Market Assets?

Hi, can anyone enlighten me on the licensing terms for Creative Cloud Market Assets? I have seen this question asked in the forum before, but as yet there's been no answer (or no helpful answer).
For example, although royalty free, does the licence exclude items for resale? For example:
    • Can a CC Market pattern be used on a mug for resale?
    • Can a CC Market pattern be used as an allover print on accessories? ie a children's bag
    Thanks for the help.

  • What are the most significant memory parameters?

    Hi,
Installed NW04s ABAP preview and it was rather slow.
Added memory to give it 2GB, still slow.
Added more memory, to give it 3GB and I noticed it doesn't use it. It seems to be configured to use around 1-1.5GB and that's that.
Can anyone point me to the most significant parameters to change to make it use the memory more effectively? (And where to change them).
    Any input appreciated,
    Mike

    Hello Mike,
You could try to adjust the parameter:
    PHYS_MEMSIZE = 128
in the profile. The profile is located at <INSTALL_DIR>\NSP\SYS\profile\NSP_DVEBMSG00_<HOSTNAME>

  • What are the system requirements for downloading Lion 10.7?

What are the Mac Mini system requirements for downloading Lion OS X 10.7?

    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • What are the best UK sites for buying more memory for iMac?

    Mac OS X version 10.5.8

  • What are the best tools to test why Mac Pro is so slow?

    Hi,
I have a 2 x 2.4 GHz quad core intel xeon with 6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 RAM.  2 x 1 TB Western Digital disks (WDC WD1001FALS-41Y6A1 (boot disk- 50% disk free) and WDC WD1002FAEX-00Y9A0).
I am often surprised at how slow the machine works.  Especially when coming out of sleep mode, where the machine could take minutes just to show the login prompt.
Yes, I do keep more than a few processes running all the time, but am I expecting too much?  After all it's got some reasonable horsepower.  When I check task manager its usually the Chrome renderers that are hogging up a core (or two) but there are still many cores left  (at least according to istat menus).
Anyway, I'm wondering what are the right tools to diagnosing the situation and how to improve it.
I've started off with disk utility and everything seems fine.
Can someone please recommend my next steps?   Are there any freeware utilities?
    thanks

Use this article to examine your Memory. You can take a screen shot (Command-Shft-4 and drag across the area to be captured) and post it using the little camera icon on the top of the reply window on the forums. Or answer these questions:
    How much total RAM.
How much of the pie chart is Green?
How much is Green + Blue?
How many Pageouts since last Startup?
    How much Swap Used?

  • What are the exact differences betweern mac book air and mac book pro

I have not used mac book b4, and now I consider to buy a mac book. I am a college student and majoring in computer science. Can someone tell me what are the exact differences between MBP and MBA? I know the CPU in MBP is better than MBA and what else? Which one would you recommend me to buy? Waiting for your response. Thank you so much!

So the question is relevant at least to the extent that it is asking for a comparison between a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air
MacBookAir definitely favors portability and sports a dual core i5 at 1.5GHz (max RAM is 4GB not user upgradable)
MacBook Pro  has upto a quad core i7 at 2.4GHz (ships with 4GB and upgradeable to as much as 16GB on some models)

what are the Processor, Operating system, hard drive device, Total Memory, Network card, System Graphics of the Silver ipad air?

"Memory" in this case means RAM, the working space for the processor in the iPad. It is different from storage space, the latter being what is referred to by the "32GB", "64GB" etc. specification.

  • What are the optimal values for mac and arp timeout values

    Hi Guys.
What are the best values for "mac address-table aging-time" and "arp timeout" by following scenarios?:
    - single sg300-10 as layer3-switch with a maximum of 10 local (direct connected) hosts
    - and a 3750x-stack with 100 local hosts + hsrp with a other stack of the same sort
or for asa 5520 as internet gateway for 500 clients?
I use at the moment a mac aging-time from 300 seconds and a arp timeout from 3600 seconds.
    Is this o.k.?
    Thanks.

    Marvel.
As far as enhancing the CLI, it will of course be enhanced when new firmware releases provide new features. As far as making it more IOS-like, best to my knowledge, no.  The only other supported CLI on the SB switches are on the SX500 series and SX200E series which the CLI are all consistent. If you bought a SX500 series the commands are nearly identical minus the different feature sets.

if this is with the internet, iChat is probly your best bet,
but if you just want a transfer,
plug a firewire into both of your computers, shutdown one of them, hold "T" and press the power button, the restarted computer should pop up as an external drive on the second computer.
