What are the mel frequency cepstral coefficients

Hi everybody,
I need to know strongly what are cepstral coeeficients? I know they are calculated in FFT but I cant understand which properties of the wav audio file they are. For example there are 13 cepstral coefficients. What is the first one? Is it frequency of the speech? What is the second one? Is it the timpre of the speech??? My questions continue for 13 cepstral coefficients:)
Thank you.

Ok, I get the picture. The reason why I asked this question came up when I bought a new set of monitors (the Edirol MA-15DBK). I found out that after changing speakers (I had a set of Philips SPC-3208) the new ones were set to 0% boost/cut for bass/treble, but the sound came out quite bassy in an almost irritating level. So, I thought that maybe my card's bass levels were somewhat boosted. I guess now some lower frequencies are revealed, so I have to take care of my room acoustics. However the reviews for the Edirols gave low bass levels, so this gets more complicated. I am still in a 30-days trial, so maybe I will have a look at the Gigaworks T40 series II and I'll see what happens then...

  • What are the flat frequency settings for bass & treble knobs on X-Fi Elite Pro?

Ok, I have the X-Fi Elite Pro and I need to set its bass & treble levels (volume control panel) to a flat frequency response setting. I noticed that the default value given by creative is 50% for bass level and 50% for treble level. So, what is the flat frequency response setting for bass and treble knobs? 0% or 50%?
    Kind regards

  • What are the best settings to use for the newest AirPort Extreme (AC wifi) with my optimum online service provider?

I have the current generation of the AirPort Extreme and a handful of devices that utilize the new 5Ghz A/C frequency. My internet speeds were blazing fast when I had first set it up but lately it has been lagging terribly. I was told that changing my dhcp did help, which it did it seems like it might be back to its normal speeds but I just want to know what are the best settings to configure for the airport so that I can get the most out of my service on all my devices? I'm using a CAT 6 cable which does help, I have a guest wifi setup with a wifi password which I understand will slow it down a little. Can anyone just point me in the right direction or just give me a step by step guide on what settings to configure? Should I really consider turning off the guest network?

I am assuming that you are looking to configure your network to provide the highest level of bandwidth possible for your network clients. If that is the case, the following are a few things to consider:
The Internet modem should support Gigabit Ethernet. That is the Ethernet connection between the modem and your 802.11ac AirPort Extreme should be Gigabit Ethernet.
Use CAT-5e or CAT-6 Ethernet cables between all wired connections.
Only expect 802.11ac performance with 802.11ac clients in the same room as the base station.
Eliminate or significantly reduce any forms of Wi-Fi interference on both the 2.4 & 5 GHz bands.
When streaming, especially HD video on your local network, use wired connections between the host and player devices when possible.
Other than the above suggestions there are no "magic" settings that you can make on your AirPort. Note: The Guest network shares the same bandwidth as the "main" network. Unless you have a network goal to provide this type of network, it is best left disabled.

  • What are the Settings for DefaultFreq as YTD...

    Hi Experts,
If I want to set “DefaultFreq” as YTD, what are the settings I have to do.
    1) In Application profile (Time Periods, View, and Periods).
    2) In Scenario (DefaultFreq and Default View).
And also the load data file format.
    Pls explain me in detail.
    Thanks in advance
    Sai

    Hi Sai
    1. When you are creating the frequencies in Application profile for MTD, QTD or HYTD Frequency, System Automatically creates the YTD Frequency.
So no need to do any changes for Application Profile.
    2. Create a scenario name with YTD, like Actual,Budget...
In Scenario Dimension mention below details.
Member- YTD (YTD is Scenario name)
    Description –YTD Scenario
    DefaultFreq-YTD
    DefaultView-YTD
    ZeroviewForNonadj-YTD
    ZeroviewForadj-YTD
    DefFreqForICTrans-YTD
    3. To Load the Data into HFM Select the Scenario: YTD and Period: *[Year]*
Select the Proper POV to load the DATA.
    Scenario:YTD
    Year: 2012
    Period:[Year]
    View:YTD
    Entity:India
    Value:INR
    Account:ExtSales
    ICP:[ICP None]
    Custom1:NOCC
    Custom2:NO Cust
    Custom3:[None]
    Custom4:[None]
    Sample Data file
    !Data

  • What are the endpoints attributes collected by NAC Profiler through SNMP and DHCP?

    Hi Everyone,
    Please help on this.
I want to know what are the endpoints attributes collected by NAC Profiler to discover and profile the endpoints.through SNMP protocol and DHCP protocol.
Also if anybody can explain a simple used case on this.
    Please guide me on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Abuzar.

    Hi,
    SNMP
    =====
NetMap queries network devices via SNMP for:
    System information
    Interface information
    Bridge information
    802.1X information (PAE MIB)
    Routing/IP information
    CDP MIB Information
This information is used to Build and maintain a model of the network topology and endpoint discovery.
NetMap uses SNMP Get, GetNext and GetBulk (when available) requests to  query the SNMP agents running on the network infrastructure devices to  gather specific Management Information Base (MIB) objects about their  status based on device type (Layer 2 or Layer 3).
In addition to polling each network device for all MIB data at a regular  interval, NetMap may also be commanded to poll port-specific  information when the NAC Profiler system is notified that an endpoint  has joined or left the network via SNMP traps sent by devices at the  network edge, switches typically.
Upon receipt and verification of a link state (link up, link down) or  MAC notification trap, NetTrap will notify the NAC Profiler Server that a  change has occurred on the network edge (endpoint joined or left a  network port). If the trapping device is in the NAC Profiler  configuration, the NetMap component module assigned to poll the device  that sent the trap will be commanded by the Server module to initiate a  poll of the device's port information to determine the change to the  endpoint topology that resulted in the trap being sent by the network  device.
The information gathered by NetMap is processed by the Server  accordingly to update the network topology, noting the endpoint joining  or leaving a port. Note that NetMap SNMP polling of network devices  resulting from a trap is localized to the port specified in the trap.  This is unlike the regular polling that occurs at the frequency  specified for each device type (L2 and L3) which gathers all SNMP  information from the device used by the NAC Profiler system.
    DHCP:
    =====
The NetWatch module listens for traffic including DHCP traffic.
The module will collect all the DHCP information on the traffic collected, like mac address, ip address,  DHCP Vendor Class Identifier in DHCP request, host name in DHCP request, requested specified options in DHCP request (option 55) and full list of DHCP options supported by the DHCP client as specified in the DHCP request.
All the endpointe data can then be used to map endpoints with profiles.
    HTH,
    Tiago

    Mel
    Mel

Go to Site Settings -> Users and Permissions -> Site Permissions -> In the ribbon select Permission levels. Here you can see different permission levels like Read, Contribute etc.
You can create a permission level by clicking on Add a permission level. Select the permissions you want to give the users. "Make sure to not give the permission "View Application Pages  -  View forms, views, and application pages. Enumerate
    lists."
Now you can create a SharePoint group and associate this permission level to that group. Finally add those users to this group and they won't have access to Site Contents.

  • 2.4 or 5GHz? What are the differences?

    Hi, guys.
Yesterday I got a Time Capsule from my wife as my 30th birthday gift. So, it's my first 802.11n router and I have a few doubts.
I'll be the only one wirelessly connecting to it from my Aluminum MacBook, so, what are the advantages of setting TC up for 5GHz only?
    1. Will it improve internet speed?
    2. Will it make backup faster?
    3. Is there any other advantage?
    Thanks a lot.
    JP

    Welcome to the discussions!
"1. Will it improve internet speed?"
Yes, assuming you have good signal strength.
"2. Will it make backup faster?"
Yes, assuming you have good signal strength.
"3. Is there any other advantage?"
There are very few networks operating at 5 GHz, so your chances of experiencing interference issues from another wireless network and/or cordless phones are greatly reduced.
The disadvantage to 5 GHz is that the higher frequencies of this band are absorbed by walls and obstructions much more quickly than 2.4 GHz signals, so depending on the construction of your home, number of walls to traverse, or even corners to go around, it is quite possible that 5 GHz may not perform as well as 2.4 GHz. You will need to experiment to determine the best setting for your environment.

  • What are the pro alternatives to Compressor?

I've been compressing a lot of material recently, mostly shot on DVCPRO HD and edited on FCP. What's been happening is that some - but surprisingly not all dissolves - are breaking up into pixels or rather blocks of pixels. The problem, as I've recently found out, has been documented here so I won't waste anyone's time agonizing over it. I'll just say that using Compression Master, Sorenson Squeeze and bitVice produced artifacts free files right off the bat.
What's infuriating about the Compressor is that every time I try to test a short piece from the middle of the sequence, it compresses fine but then when the whole 20 min sequence is compressed the problem comes back.
I've tried CBR, closed GOP, IP structure etc as suggested in one of the posts and it did get rid of the pixelation but I'm still not happy with the results. The picture looks a bit soft and washed out. Shockingly comparable to a well compressed random, internet downloaded DivX file that I can play on the same player. Is it the Compressor, DVDSP or the true nature of the DVCPRO HD format showing its ugly face?
What are the professional MPEG encoders that could save me all that headache? I'd rather pay good money and finally get it done right than spend my time beta testing software that is clearly not ready for the prime time.
