try holding down the power and home button at the same time until you see the white apple logo and then release. This should reboot/reset your iphone.

I'm sorry to learn that your phone is having problems starting up, marinema08. I'm sorry if this is incorrect, but are you using the original HTC Droid Incredible or a later Droid Incredible model? Hello all, I could use some serious help on some major issues I have been having after installing Mavericks on my system (specs stated below). Never has a mac felt ever so rebelious and broken before in my lifelong period of using these systems. Anyway, after installing system 10.9, I had opened the mac App Store upon seeing that applications such as my iWork suite all had free updates. However, when I would attempt to navigate to the updates window, it would not respond to my various attempts. I then tried to get there by the system's menu bar and to my dismay, nothing would work when I clicked on it, not even the apple logo menu. I later quit the application using Command-Q and opened up the App Store by the apple menu option 'Software Update...' instead. Though it looked promising since the updates window did open, all update buttons or even '...more' info buttons were unresponsive. These same problems persisted even after restarting my computer. I had also attempted to see if repairing definitions would help by booting from the recovery start-disk and using disk utility but the repairs it carried out apparently had nothing to do with my issue. Finally, I was able to update to the new iWorks suite (which interestingly did not replace the iWorks '09 suite) by following the notification that asked about allowing automatic updates which I did.
Once trying to use Pages 5.0, I soon noticed that all I could do was merely type in a new document and change various options via key commands. Neither the inspector or top bar menus would respond to any place I click. Similarly, Evernote only starts up on the last used note and merely allows me to scroll through it. The top bar menus, the note select pane, and even clicking inside the note to input text are all not functioning and uninfluenced by any mouse clicks.
I have noticed other apps that will not respond to any sort of input, but I still have not explored all applications to know what the issues of each may be. However there are some applications that work such as Safari, Google Chrome, dolphin, iWork '09 including Pages '09, and others.
I do hope that I can avoid rolling back my system, but in the meantime, it has been quite the obticle course to use my computer for all of my school purposes.

Hi Everyone,
After installing Snow Leopard 10.6.3, I left the cd in the drive when I turned the computer off. When I tried to turn the computer back on again, the screen told me that I needed to restart the computer by holding down on the power button. So I did, but the message came up again. I did it again. The third time, the computer wouldn't turn on at all.
I removed the cd by opening up my computer--something I had done in the past because of problems with the keyboard. (The keyboard was never fixed, and the trackpad didn't work either, so I used USB connections.The powerbutton never was affected though)
Two questions:
First, what would you say is the culprit in the first problem with the messages to restart the computer? How might I address this?
Second, knowing the secondary information about the keyboard connections, how might this affect fixing the problem? Could the powerbutton now be affected, especially since I lifted the keyboard off?
Lastly, I've looked into restarting the SMC, and turning on the computer without the button. I have tried the first of these two options, and will soon attempt the second (If anyone can send me a link to better explain turning on the computer without a button for my model, I'd be grateful.)
Any more advice (short of bringing it into the shop!) would be helpful.Try powering up and push in your install disc(use your original install disk if you have it, maybe try the retail SL disc white with the cat as a second choice) holding the C key (this should make it boot from the disc) select your language, click continue, in the next screen in the menu bar click Utilities/Disk utilities, select (highlight your volume from the left column, default name is Macintosh HD, unless you renamed it) click the first aid tab, then click verify disk, if it comes up with errors (they will be in red font) if you get errors, run repair disk, run it repeatedly if necessary till it comes up with this disk seems ok (in green font)
Then run permissions repair.
Log out and reboot see what you get.
You may have to reinstall the 10.6.3 OSX again, do this by powering up and pushing in the disk holding the C key and follow the prompts. if you have a successful install, eject the disc, and reboot. The next thing you need to do is run software update, there will be many and you want to do them one at a time. (use an ethernet connection as opposed to wireless, as there is much chance of corruptions. The first one to run is the 10.6.8 combined v 1.1, the keep running software update one at a time till there are none offered.

I am experiencing wireless connection problem on 4s after ios 8.1 upgrade. The wireless icon appears showing that it's connected but webpages do not load. I have checked my internet connection with other devices and seems to be alright. what to do?
I have tried reseting the network settings and forgetting my wireless connection and re-connecting to it. I even backed up my phone on itunes and restored it, factory reseted it. Nothing seems to work.
Also after my upgrade to ios 8.1 my personal hotspot option under cellular data has disappeared.

My ipod touch is a 5th generation and I recently updated to 8.02 software, however, when I attempted to open up my bank app it gave me a warning that the application may have been compromised. So as I have done when things I need stop working in the past, I erased the application and went to re-download the latest version from the app store. I only then realized that, regardless of my wonderful wifi connection, my ability to access the app store has also been cut off. I have had more problems since the update also with applications closing out in the middle of what I am doing (but this is not new so I thought very little of it) and with my photos. After I take a new photo they aren't arranged in the order that I have taken them in and I have had to search through my 3000+ photos for the one I just took a second ago, which should honestly be at the end of the list like it has always been in the past (not somewhere randomly in the middle like they seem to be now). It's just all so frustrating and I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problems with their ipods, recently and if they know any way to solve them.
Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

How can I turn off Recently Visited Websites when opening new Safari window?
After tapping on the two overlapping boxes on the bottom right of Safari, a new blank window appears with Favorites, but now in iOS 8, recently viewed websites are listed. How can I turn this function off? I do NOT want my new Safari windows to have history displayed of previous websites I visited. I only want my Favorites (on the top) to be displayed. Please help.

Let me try to ask my question a little more clearly:
When I tap the two overlapping boxes on the lower left (the option to Open New Windows), the new Window that appears will show your Bookmarked FAVORITES. But with my new iPhone 6, and the new iOS 8.0.2, when I tap the two boxes to open a New Window, my Bookmark Favorites show (as they always have and should), but below them, there is a dividing line underneath them, and it says Recently Viewed Websites, and has these websites available to tap.
So my question is, HOW DO I TURN THESE OPTION OFF?
*UPDATE (10.13.14): Since I have asked this question, I no longer see these Recently Viewed Websites under my Bookmarked Favorites in my new Window tabs. So I hope that Apple fixed it, or somehow it was a mistake, or somehow I changed an Option on my iPhone 6 that stopped this for reoccurring.

My iPad wifi was working great until I I connected it by Bluetooth to a keyboard (zagg). It was the first time I'd used Bluetooth
Immediately Internet was dropped on my ipad. My iPhone was and is still connected no prob. And I cannot get the iPad wifi to work again....at all!!!
This is major as I am away from my desktop for three months. Any fix cannot involve being at my desktop with iTunes which is 10,000 km away
So far This is what I've tried based on other discussions-
-turned Bluetooth off and unpaired to keyboard which was also turned off
- turned iPad wifi off and on (several times)
- forgot the network I useArrive Jul 19 depart Aug 25th. Originally it was Sept 9.

What happens is that the iPad sees the network and I enter my password. But, instead of getting "check mark" indicating a successful connections it keeps "circling". Sometimes the airport bars will show, but disappear or flicker. It never connects with a check noted in settings. Any attempts to use internet confirm there is no connection
My network is not a cafe or public network. It is one I regularly use here at my family's home where I am visiting

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I have a Mac Pro OS 10.7.5 and have a DVD+R disc with files on it, but it ejects the disk after about 10 seconds--what to do? How can I get the data off this disc? I can see it has been already burned, so files are on there?
Try cleaning the lens and see if that will restore functionality to the DVD drive. Use a DVD lens cleaning disk, if you have a can of compressed air, shoot some into the slot or wrap a fine microfiber cloth (eyeglasses cleaning cloth) around a business card and insert it gently inside the slot.
If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and get a free diagnosis from them.

MacBook Pro's screen randomly goes blank (white sometimes dark), wont be able to do anything no matter what key i press unless i turn it off and on via the power button. When i do that I normally have just a few minutes before it happens again. Bought this back in december just started happening a few days ago. Only thing out of the ordinary I've done is install that microsoft silverlight or whatever it is netflix asked me to install to watch the videos but I uninstalled that quickly hoping it would fix my problem but it hasn't so please help me out if you know what to do
