What are the popup messages that Skype gives?
A few days ago Skype just when the computer was booting up popup a message asking to select the functions that Skype can do by default, I can't exactly remember the phrases used. In a box below it had three options. One had the skype logo and and in front of it according to what I remeber was someting written like "call to protocol" . Can anybody explain to what this could have been about?
It seems that you are talking about this message:
Would you like to select which Skype related actions this program should handle by default?
And options which can be found at "Advanced settings":
Use Skype to call callto: links on the web
Use Skype to call tel: links on the web
These options allow you to make Skype calls by clicking tel or callto links from your browser. They are similar to mailto scheme (which open an Email application), http (browser), magnet (peer-to-peer client) and many others (look here for details).

What are the different messages that OCOD may return for a web service requ
Hi,
Please give me feedback on the questions below, concerning the limitations of web service, and messages which may return.
1) What are the different messages that OCOD may return for a web service request? I need all the messages of all the scenarios which OCOD can meet, for example:
- If the file is rejected (Error message)
- If the file is accepted (to clarify that the records have been created)
- if the application is unavailable (maintenance or web service is down)
2) How many request can we send simultaneously, and how many records we can make per second?

what does the error message that says " You are logged out because another computer is using this IP address." mean?
Some other piece of network ghardware on your home LAN (Local Area Network) is using the IP address your Mac is trying to use.
Reboot both your modem and router, or the Modem/Router combo box you have, and all pieces of networking equipment, computers and printers, you have connected to your LAN.
If you continue to get that error then it is a bug in OS X or you have your Mac set to a Static IP address that is being handed out by the routers DHCP server to some other device. -

What are the essential services that are required for ensuring server is healthy up ?
Hi All,
Please advise me What are the essential services that are required for ensuring server is healthy up ?
Warm regards,
jk1510The easiest way to find the Health report of server or workstation follow the below steps which is very much easiest way to get it done
There are a few ways to find this in Windows Server 2008.
First click “Start” and type “Generate a system health report”
Or second navigate your way to the Control Panel choose “System and Security” and choose “Generate a system health report”.
The last is to type “Generate a system health report” into the “Search Control Panel” box in the upper right hand corner of the Control Panel window.
Once armed with this data it’s easier to refute or acknowledge an issue is at hand.
BTW if you’re looking for this same thing in Windows 7 it’s there just buried a bit more.
Search Performance in the Start Menu, choose “Performance Information and Tools”, click “Advanced Tools” from the menu on the left, and finally choose “Generate a system
health report”.

What are the installed fonts that come with Premiere Elements 13

What are the installed fonts that come with Premiere Elements 13
and If I download the trial and then convert with a purchased, does the trial have all the fonts and themes and add-ons, more that the disk version.
I have a new Mac, and it does not have a DVD drive, but I can get one need be.
ThanksBabieMe
The Premiere Elements tryout should have all the features of the program. But, remember that Premiere Elements Mac does not necessarily have all the features
of Premiere Elements Windows.
Premiere Elements Windows uses Windows fonts.
Since I am strictly an Elements Windows user, I am not sure of the details of Mac fonts. Not sure if the following will help.
Mac OS X: Font locations and their purposes - Apple Support
Fonts on Macintosh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Based on the Windows model, I would suspect that Premiere Elements Mac will use the Mac fonts of the Mac system.

(what are the possible error type which make here red)
thanks
poojaHi,
I can tell you the most common reasons of these failures.
1. request everything ok
Here it will be telling you if the request was properly send to source system and got triggered there.
2. extraction everything ok
In this step the actual extraction of data happens, issue slike sysfail or CPIC error may cause this to fail.
3. transfer (idocs and trfc) error occured?
When extraction is complete and data is being send to BW. But if dur to some reason it fails, error may come here.
4. processing
Processing in BW fails for each data packet is displayed here.
This can also happen when you have sysfail in source.
5. process chain
This can show the logs of the chain here and also status of subsequent process.
6 other messages.
Any other error message.

What are the text files that suddenly showed up in the Preferences folder?
I just noticed a group of text files in the Preferences folder that I haven't noticed before. All of them were created within a 3-minute period on 12/31/2008. The names are in sets of 4 or 5 that follow this scheme:
np_334572current
np_334572services
np_334572servicesnew
np_334572sets
np_334572system
The default app to open these is Property List Editor.
They haven't been modified since they were created, even though I've been adding, deleting, and modifying apps and their preferences since then. Anybody know what they are? Can or should I delete these?
Thanks in advance.Dick,
To be honest I don't know what program they are related to. However If the files are located in ~/Library/Preferences (Where is ~ = your home directory) Then You should be safe in moving/deleting them, at worst you will have to reset the settings in one of your apps. What that folder is mainly used for is say for example you have your dock show/hide it self. That will be saved to a plist file in the preferences folder. If you delete or move the dock's plist out of there your dock on your next login will go back to the default view of Mac OS.
Now To be honest you don't have to move/delete those files that are there, especially since at most you will probably reset some of the preferences you set in an application. But its up to you. Also you could always move it first to see what app it is and either move it back or delete it later.
Hope that helps,

What are the weird files that start with ._ that pc users get when I send zips?
When I send files that I zip using Stuiffit to pc users they get the files plus an equal number of files that start with ._ Does anybody know what these are and how to get rid of them?
Thanks!
KarenDot files are invisible files that OS X uses to display positions of files and folders icon for instance when you open a folder.
That is indeed what a .DS_Store file does, but that's not the ones Bogies is referring to.
There are various other items that start with a period, such as .Trashes. Every drive gets a trash folder, just as Windows does to each of its drives. While it hides its own trash folders from view, Windows doesn't recognize OS X's version of the trash folder, so you see it.
But you're likely talking about these. Every file you copy from OS X to a DOS/Windows formatted drive gets a ._ file. The Mac OS has a twin file system; the data fork, and the resource fork. Windows has only a data fork.
In order for OS X to maintain the resource fork data on a Windows drive, it has to write the resource data as a separate data fork file. So a file named foo.tif will also get a ._foo.tif file on the drive. Mac users don't see them since UNIX automatically hides anything that starts with a period. When you copy the file back to OS X, the data and resource fork info is combined again into a normal Mac file.
Most of the time, removing these are no big deal. They hold simple data like Type and Creator codes, modification dates, icons, etc. Others, like Mac Type 1 PostScript or Mac legacy TrueType fonts have all of the font data in the resource fork. Delete the ._ files for those types of fonts, and you're left with nothing.
