What are the quick time preferences files in windows? (.plist) ?

My favorites folders in Windows %userprofile%\Favorites in some of the folders has .plist apple system files in them but they do not seem to serve any purpose should I leave them there what are they for? What purpose do they serve actually?

I believe they were related to syncing favorites to browsers in the cloud.

Exporting photos for UHDTV or Native 4K TV, what are the best settings ? (File: Quality File: Color Space, Image Sizing and resolution)   Or in other words; How can I get the smallest files but keep good quality for display on new UHDTV

You're welcome, and thank you for the reply.
    2) Yesterday I made the subclips with the In-Out Points and Command-U, the benefit is that I've seen the clip before naming it. Now I'm using markers, it's benefit is that I can write comment and (the later) clip name at once, the drawback is that I have to view to the next shot's beginning before knowing what the shot contains.
But now I found out that I can reconnect my clips independently to the format I converted the master clip to. I reconnected the media to the original AVI file and it worked, too! The more I work with, the more I'm sold on it... - although it doesn't seem to be able to read and use the date information within the DV AVI.
    1) Ok, I tried something similar within FCE. Just worked, but the file size still remains. Which codec settings should I use? Is the export to DV in MOV with a quality of 75% acceptable for both file size and quality? Or would be encoding as H.264 with best quality an option for archiving, knowing that I have to convert it back to DV if I (maybe) wan't to use it for editing later? Or anything else?
    Thank's in advance again,
    André

  • What are the advantages of using file.ser ???

    hi
actually i just know a little bit about this file format (file.ser), i know that it can handle serialized objects in the same order that they have written. but i don know :
    how it works?
what are the benefits that i can have from this file format?
how can i delete a particular object from this file?
    thanks in advance

Dude, you're lost... off the bottom of the page... time to start scrolling up again ;-)
    Start here: http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Programming/serialization/
I know that it can handle serialized ...Umm no, not "handle", so much as "contain" serialized objects.
An SER file contains serialized objects.
what are the benefits that i can have from this file format?None, per se... it's only a file format. The advantages lie in a "quick light framework for the persistence of java objects".... serialisation.
how can i delete a particular object from this file?Umm... you can't manipulate the file, not directly anyway, well not safely.
Desialise all objects in the file, and reserialise them to a new file, skipping the offending object.
Seriously read through that tutorial. It's very interesting.
    Cheers. Keith.

  • How to improve the quality of the quick time movie file

When I press command + option + enter, the graphics looks very good but when I look at the quick time mov I saved, its so bad. It's fine if I 'drag' the quick time window to the smallest but when I look at it in full screen mode, the picture is so bad... What can I do to improve the quality?
Please give me step by step instrustion
Flash CS4 I am using, action script 3.0

The text in your original Flash movie is a vector representation.  The text is drawn to the screen using a mathematical structure that is resolution independent and so the text will look crisp and sharp regardless of the enlargement or reduction of the image. When you take this Flash movie and export it as a compressed video file using the Quicktime file format, you are turning that vector image into a raster image. The compressor that you choose when exporting the file to Quicktime takes the text as it sits on the stage, at whatever that stage size is, and records the pixels. These pixels are then compressed by one means or another to produce a manageable file that can be played back in a linear method using the Quicktime player.
In other words, there's a lot going on in that export. Flash works best when it can work with just vector artwork. Flash is a runtime playback tool. The Flash file is stored as a set of instructions for the Flash player to execute when the user plays the file. Quicktime is a file format. The Quicktime player reads the comressed file and decompresses that file as it plays. It is a linear process. It starts at the beginning and goes until it stops. Quicktime's compressors take the original content and compress that content by storing the information about the pixels that make up the file. Quicktime, and all of the other video file wrappers, play back best when the final file is played at the same size and frame rate as the original. Like any pixel based image, the quality of the image degrades as it is enlarged.
Some compressors can provide a better quality image when enlarged, some don't. There is no 1,2,3 for creating great QT from Flash. You'll need to work through the compromises of original stage size, video compressor, audio compressor, output size, frame rate, color depth, video keyframing, etc. What works very well for one file will work less well for another file.

  • What are the correct Time Capsule Airport Utility Disk options?

During configuration of the Time Capsule what are the correct options/settins in the Airport Utility on the Disk tab?  Does File Sharing interfere with Server File Saring>

You can turn on file sharing.. it will not interfere with your server since it has a different IP address.
You can use either device password or disk password.. do not use the profiles as that complicates things.. and Apple did not build in a link to Server to use standard user login which is a great pity.. when you have an active directory type setup it .. the TC could have been made a lot more business like.. However apple really have the TC aimed at the domestic market and users without a server.
What are you intending to use the TC for?
Most people would be better buying an airport extreme rather than TC when they are running business setup.

  • What are the system requirements for iTunes on Windows?

    Hi everyone,
I am using a very capable workstation to run iTunes.  It is a Dell T5600 workstation with a Xeon E5-2667, 16GB of RAM, and a GeForce 560 Ti, W7 Pro x64, and my system drive is an SSD.  This is a very expensive ($4K+), powerful workstation that doesn't sweat very often.
However, iTunes runs like molasses on this system.  Just like every Windows system I've ever used it on.  Scrolling through albums is chunky and jerky.  Clicking on the upper-left-corner's "Music" tab, to produce the Music/Movies/TV-Shows dropdown, takes a perceptible amount of time.
So, clearly I need to upgrade this system in order to run iTunes acceptably.
What kind of Windows machine does Apple recommend that users purchase in order to have a responsive experience using iTunes?
What kind of Windows systems are the iTunes developers using to test on?
(I am also using iTunes Match.)

Good questions.  My library is not too large (8,514 songs).  But most of that data is stored in iTunes Match.  Very little of it is local.  However, they must cache some sort of table-of-contents locally so that browsing can perform acceptably.  The system isn't waiting for network data when browsing, that's for sure.
(Since it is using an SSD, a disk defragmenter is unlikely to help).

  • What are the "rules" regarding render files?

OK...one PO-ed user here, wondering *** is going on...
I've always said that FCP is about as weak as an early version of Media 100 when it comes to render files.  You can search my posts (not that you'd want to...), and find that I've been complaining about every system I regularly work on losing render files like a 6 year old loses mittens.
However, it's hit the fan, thus this post.  I work on a half-hour tv show.  Let me mention that we shoot and edit in XDCAM EX 1080i60; this is notable as yes, I know, rendering in long-GOP codecs is slow.  Oh, I know it...
Anyway, this past Tuesday I dilligently rendered my composite sequence, and the broadcast output sequence, and then exported the broadcast sequence for feed.  All was well.
Today, I opened up the project so I could make final archives and web exports of the individual segments...and guess what?  Gee, Wally, the entire sequence was, you guessed it, unrendered.  Where did those pesky render files go?  Well, I figured I'd try something I never try, and that was to reconnect them.  Hopeless, right?
As it turns out, yes, hopeless...because when I navigated to the Render Files folder, there was a grand total of 11 render files for this particular project.  Now, I don't change my System Settings at all...I like where things go, I have my media volumes set up, everything should be hunky-dory, no?
So to get to the heart of the matter...what process is tossing render files?  Why are they disappearing from my hard drive?
I have folders from projects from 2 months ago that have some render files in them, but I don't have the render files my system (supposedly) created on Tuesday!
    Anyone got any ideas?

Hey, Shane, as soon as I saw you posted I began to get deja vu all over again, as we had a discussion about losing render files which, yes, caused me to stop nesting...for the most part.  So yes, here we again have evidence that the "nesting behavior" coding team took off early the day they were supposed to be bug-fixing...but i digress.
I nest only when necessary...generally, we edit "packages" (your acts) and then I get em, do whatever audio and color correction time allows, and copy and past them into my complete program sequence.
However, when all is well, good, revised and approved, I "edit" that complete 22:10 sequence into my "BS" sequence (you might guess, Broadcast Safe), which has the bars n tone requested by the broadcast mothership, and where I apply a light Broadcast Safe filter and a touch of compression to the audio.  So I guess my only question here it...are you suggesting that I just splat-A my edited sequence and apply the filters to the gazillion-odd clips individually?

  • What are the proper settings for export to Windows DVD Creator?

I'm trying to write some DV-Widescreen material to a DVD using Windows DVD maker (hey, it's free.)    So far I've tried "H.264", "MPEG2" and "DVD-Wide" settings, and various permutations.
I either get a single file (.mp4) which Windows DVD Maker won't recognize at all, or I get three separate files: .m2v, .wav, and .xmp.   The only one Windows DVD Maker recognizes is the m2v file, which is video-only (no audio).
Seems like this should be really simple given the awesome power of Media Encoder, but I can't find the right combination of settings.    Can anyone help?

Use "MPEG-2 DVD" and in the settings panel, under the MULTIPLEXER tab, change Multiplexing from "NONE" to "DVD" - this will output a single file that DVD Maker will accept.
Under AUDIO tab, I set audio to Dolby and DVD Maker accepted the result. I don't have any speakers attached to the test computer at the moment, nor did I burn a test DVD, but the fact that DVD Maker readily accepts the file suggests that all will be fine. You might also try MPEG audio, see what works for you, but Multiplexing is the key.
While DVD Maker does accept the AVI file you gave it, keep in mind that you are then rendering TWICE, once to AVI, and then DVD Maker needs to further transcode the AVI to MPEG-2 for the DVD. Makes more sense to render direct to MPEG-2 DVD format and be done with it.
    Thanks

  • What are the System Requirements for Web Server hosting Adobe Air application

Working on a project that is using Adobe Air . The Adobe support site has system requirements for the client side application, but for the server side, what are the system requirements?
Using a Windows server, would expect to have approx. 100 concurrent connections at any given time.

Adobe AIR applications are installed on the end user's computer. They are not hosted on a web server. You can deploy an AIR file, which is the installer file for an AIR application, via your web server.

    Hi All,
I want to run my form in web i.e forms10g. Please guide me what are the application server, configuation files and built in packages required to set up.
    Thanks

You have to do some homework before you post here. You're very unlikely to get any help without explaining what you already tried and what your specific problem is. I guess your best of to start reading the Forms Services Deployment Guide.
I can't point you to the correct location since you didn't even mention the version you're using. If it's 10.1.2.0.2 you can find it at http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/web.1012/b14032/toc.htm
Otherwise have a look around at http://docs.oracle.com

    Hi
Can you please any one let me know what are the real time work for Infopathe designer or developer in 2013 or 2010?
Is there good feature for InfoPath Designer or developer?
    Thanks and Regards
    S K

    Hi,
FYI: They just announced there is no more InfoPath after SP2013:
    http://blogs.office.com/2014/01/31/update-on-infopath-and-sharepoint-forms/
That doesn't mean all InfoPath will be stopped immediately but I would think about JavaScript/Html5 instead. Looks like they are moving that way now.

  • What are the most important system preference files to have backed up?

This isn't specifically a Time Machine question but since it pertains to backup I thought it would be best here. In addition to backing up my entire system to an external HD using Time Machine I'm also planning to back-up critical files to an online service (Mozy) in case I should have a break-in or fire or something like that and not be able to recover either my laptop or my external HD.
I've started to identify some of the files I'd like to back up such as the encrypted database where my passwords are stored (Wallet) but I'm wondering what some of the other things I should back up are. What are the files that would contain important data that I wouldn't want to lose or would help get in me up and running more quickly?

    Hiya,
firstly, I would not recommend backing up anything *in isolation*. As all system critical files interact, and some are stored (invisibly) at various locations, including the volume header.
The "library" files (you'll find various ones, one in your actual bootup drive, one in your home folder, and one in your "system" folder) are, of course critical (see Dimaxium's post)
With a MBP, I'd recommend timecapsule or external firewire HDD (I had some excellent experience with LaCie 1Tb on Firewire 800 - incredibly fast).
What I'd do, rather than running Time Machine, which can be - of course - *very useful* (drawback, it uses the backup disk till full) is the following:
If you know your existing OS is pristine and works perfectly, I'd get external HDD, install Leopard (from Leopard disk), then use migration assistant and it'll create a clone (if you tick all the boxes - note article about the versions: http://macs.about.com/od/leopard105/ss/migratevol.htm ).
That way, the new disk has everything. And from time to time, just boot up, using your external HDD and update.
Bit more work, but that way, you got a fully functional "emergency OS" available anytime.
