I have become semi-proficient in iMovie and considering upgrading to Final Cut Pro. I would love to hear from anyone with informatoin pertaining to the learning curve, and the similarities & differences between iMovie and Final Cut Pro.

On the hope that during your college career you learned how to do original research, you could show some clear initiative and read through those threads my link will reveal. What are the physical internal differences between the iphone 4s on Verizon and AT
I fix Iphones all the time and i know that the iphone 4 in Verizon and AT&T are the same from the outward eye ( other then the sim trey and some antena placements) but the Iphone 4s is the EXACT same in both companies...right?
Physically they are the same. The CDMA radio is disabled in the AT&T phone. The Verizon iPhone 4S, even with the SIM slot unlocked by Verizon, can never use any US network other than Verizon.

Looking at the Imac and final cut pro studio
I have a $5000.00 firm budget on upgrading my computer + peripherals. Im weighing between 15" MBP 2.4 and the 24" Imac 2.33ghz.
I know I wouldnt have a problem with FCS2 on the MBP, but what about the imac? I have a shopping list of peripherals that I need for my studio, and have want the most computer for my budget.
Placing my order monday so I have the weekend to decide.
JDI will be doing overflow editing for car commercials as well as other corporate promo video work. Mostly following already shot and produced pics and graphics. I will just be importing the work and laying down the tracks.
My peripherals include:
Suitable storage 400/800 firewire connections
extra monitor for duel screen work
Contour shuttle pro and trackball mouse

Should I even use the compressor route? i want my to export hdv footage to dvd studio pro and burn to dvd. i want to understand the best way so it looks like the original mini hdv tape.
can anyone help that has experience in this area?you can use compressor to encode your HDV footage.
believe it or not, you can obtain stunning results when you encode and output to DVD.
i guess my only questions to you are:
will you want to output a "HD DVD" or a SD DVD?
how long is your footage?
in what mode did you shoot (720p or 1080i)?
what type of footage, overall, would you say you have (fast action paced, slow action, interviews)?
to be honest with you aaron, there isn't really a setting that is a "set all". compression is both an art and science. additionally, quality of your encoded file can be very subjective!

Canon Vixia HF100 24p and Final Cut Pro 7
Hello all,
Just got the HF100 and Final Cut Pro 7. New to both. My plan is to shoot everything at 1920x1080 @24p. I've heard though, that the 24p on this camera has 3/2 inserted to make it 60i. My goal is to remove the 3/2 and do all editing and fx at 24p so I can have a universal master that I can then convert to various formats (Bu-Ray, DVD, web, etc., but will not ever go to tape). What is a good workflow/settings for this? Also one possible concern is disk space (so multiple codec suggestions would be great), but may be able overcome disk space if necessary. Again, I'm completely new to final cut (I do have some post experience, but am clueless to final cut right now). A long question, I know. Thank you in advance.ebrunoski,
Welcome to FCP 7 and to Canon AVCHD camcorders. I was in your shoes a couple of weeks ago, as I have a Canon HF11 and FCS 3 myself.
I also try to film and edit everything in 24p with my Canon and my recommendation would be to do exactly as suggested in this Apple tutorial and using Compressor:

What it essentially teaches you is to (1) log and transfer your Canon 24p wrapped in 60i files, (2) make them "true" 24p in Compressor, and (3) use them back in FCP 7. Once the files have been compressed into 24p you can get rid of the ones you had logged and transferred in their 60i wrappers and use only the resulting 24p files.
Yes, it's an extra step in the process, but it's one efficient way of doing it.

The difference between programming in Unicode or not Unicode is that you should consider some adjustments to make on the Program "Z" to comply with the judgments Unicode Standard.
In the past, developments in SAP using multiple systems to encode the characters of different alphabets. For example: ASCII, EBCDI, or double-byte code pages.
These coding systems mostly use 1 byte per character, which can encode up to 256 characters. However, other alphabets such as Japanese or Chinese use a larger number of characters in their alphabets. That's why the system using double-byte code page, which uses 2 bytes per character.
In order to unify the different alphabets, it was decided to implement a single coding system that uses 2 bytes per character regardless of what language is concerned. That system is called Unicode.
Unicode is also the official way to implement ISO/IEC 10646 and is supported in many operating systems and all modern browsers.
The way of verifying whether a program was adjusted or not, is through the execution of the UCCHECK transaction. Additionally, you can check by controlling syntax (making sure that this asset verification check Unicode).
The main decisions to adjust / replace are (examples):

Mainly I am interested in attaching the iPhone to a receiver (or car etc.) to play music.
Both the "Lightning to USB Cable" and the "Lightning to USB Camera Adapter" seem to do the trick. So what is the exact technical difference between the two items?

Use Case 1:
When I connect the iPhone to the receiver I can use the Lightning to USB, because the receiver has a female type A, just like e.g. a PC or like the charger. So I would agree that the Receiver must be the USB host, and the iPhone the USB device. This works just fine in my case, with iPhone and iPad.
In this case, the audio goes from the device to the host, or "Audio-in".
Use Case 2:
A friend of mine has a small device that converts USB to Toslink. This thing has a female Mini USB Type A, which is typically used at the receiving side of a USB connection. This device can be connected e.g. to a Mac, and then the Mac can output audio via this device to receiver which accepts optical Toslink signals.
In this case, the audio goes from the host to the device, or "Audio-out".
It is this use case 2 that I am unsure about:
a) Can the Lightning to USB cable be used in this case (assuming that I find the necessary non-standard adapters to actually connect the USB ports)? This would mean that the iPhone can act as a USB host with the Lightning to USB cable.
b) I know that the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter does convert the iPad into an USB host, otherwise it could not read data from a camera. So could this adapter also be used to produce "Audio out" to a USB device that supports receiving music?
If yes, would this also work with an iPhone (as pointed out in another answer, the iPhone does nor support reading pictures from a camera)? -

Hibernate does not do that. And in that respect, it is junk.
Why does it not do that? Because many Java developers are totally and fully clueless about what database servers are and how to use them. And want to use them as little plug-in black boxes - bit buckets that are only there to provide a data persistence layer. Instead of using the database server to its full extent, they instead use Hibernate, and try to do their own "+database thing+" in the app layer - and do it poorly and with utter lack of any scalability. (and no, only ignorant Java heads think that scalability means throwing more money and h/w at it)
My largest database processes billions of rows per day, every day, 356 days a year (between 350 to 450 million new inserts into a single table per day). And have been for several years now. It does so using PL/SQL. Using Oracle to its full extent. Then there are Java heads that cannot even design and code an app that effectively process 1% of this volume... and grasp at straws like Hibernate and other Java cr@p to "fix" this - when the actual problem is their total lack of ignorance in how to use and scale the database server.
Hibernate is trash - and a symptom of Java developers's ignorance of database technology. -

iMovie HD (in reality HD5) - doesn't work under Mac OS X.7 - at all
iMovie HD6 - can take Plug-ins and run under Mac OS X.7 - BUT some of the Plug-ins doesn't work under X.7

Those integrated reports in SSMS are not hosted in SSRS, so there is no URL available where you can navigate to.
The reports run in client side rendering mode = RDLC.
