What are the specifics of the Facebook malware reported in NYT of August 26, 2013 Bits column?

Here is a link to the article:
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/08/26/malicious-software-poses-as-video-from-a-facebook-friend/?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20130827
According to this, Firefox can be infected and typical virus/malware programs are not effective in addressing the problem because the malware blocks them.
I was looking for an alert or specific discussion.

i found it by looking into the block request of latest entry of blocklisted addons - this list is generally available under https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/blocked

whats are the Forms and Reports in QM?and what is differece betwwen them?

    Hi,
    1. Forms are like templates.Forms define the text format and page layout of documents, which can be formatted (in accordance with the definitions) for display on the screen or for output to a printer.
    2. Executable program that allows users to read and evaluate data in the database.
You can either display the output of a report on the screen or send it to a printer. You can also save it, so that it can be displayed as often as you like. It is important to be able to do this, because reading large volumes of original data can impair performance.
Examples of reports are ABAP reports, queries, and drilldown reports.
In short, forms are only templates and reports will retrive the data from system in certain format.

  • What are the good PRs Report ?

    Dear Al,
I have used ME5K and ME5A .. but i have ome issues with them because they don't display what i really want ..  and there some conflict in ME5A "Closed Prs indicator for example display the prs which not yet even released" and "Released Only display PRs Active"
so if you can give other reports could help in this .. or giving me a hand on ME5A
    Thanks

    Hi,
By flagging 'Requisns for overall release' check box the system lists all purchase requisitions that have to be released (approved) in their entirety.
The purpose of the 'Requisns.f.item-wise release' flag is not to exclude purchase requisitions that have already been released from the selection.
To select only blocked purchase requisitions, use the dynamic selections for 'Purchase requisition' and select the 'Subject to Release' field.
Hope the above provides a little more clarity.

    Vivek

  • What are the basic steps to manually code an MRU with a 3 column PK?

    Greetings
Let me try this another way.
Newbie here trying to create a test application that will perform a multi-row update of a table with a 3-column primary key.
I understand I can't use the built-in MRU processes since it appears they will only accept up to two (2) columns for a PK.
I don't have the ability to change the table constraints.
I am able to create the SQL report using my search criteria but I can't seem to figure out the connection between the user clicking on my 'Apply Changes' button and making the rows they've modified get committed to the database.
Any remedial guidance is greatly appreciated.

    gwicke ,
<br>Your solution with concatenated value in one field as PK is woerse solution then my suggestion.
<br>1) Field is bigger then on PK with INTEGER based sequence. On large tables it may have some impact...and after all this is VARCHAR PK
<br>2) VARCHAR PK are several time slover in comparing then INTEGER like PK!
<br>3) Unique index (in my case) will be used when you query your data In a case of F1, F2 and F3 fields which are representing yours PK when you say
    <br>
    <br>WHERE value1=f1 and value2=f2<br>or
<br>ORDER BY F1, F2<br>oracle will know to use UQ index very efficiently and retrive data allmost as fast as possible.... on large tables or many concurent users this will have enormous impact on app performance!
<br>In your case, to get the same functionality as mentioned above, you should use "function index" (available only in EE versions of Oracle) or "INSTR, "SUBSTR" or "LIKE" or some other interesting string functions to compare value (regarding concatenated PK you've mentioned) with your PK.
<br>So I'm still standing on my first post and for me this thread is closed!
    <br>P.S.
<br>With this post I think that we have cleared out one issue and you may find some other interesting question about database design and performance question opened. Many developers do not care for that...so sometimes apps crawle like dying cats....

  • Does the IHandy flashlight app contain malware? ? If so what are the removal steps to insure the malware is removed??

Does the anyone know if the IHandy flashlight app contain malware?? If so what are the removal steps to insure the malware is removed??

There is no malware that can affect an iPhone unless it's been jailbroken.
Some apps request to do things, like access your location or contacts, and can continue to do so in the background. If this app requested permission for either of these things, you should delete it. A flashlight app has no need for such information.

What are the best practices to migrate VPN users for Inter forest mgration?

It depends on a various factors. There is no "generic" solution or best practice recommendation. Which migration tool are you planning to use?
Quest (QMM) has a VPN migration solution/tool.
ADMT - you can develop your own service based solution if required. I believe it was mentioned in my blog post.

  • What are the best practices to extend the overall lifespan of my MacBook Pro and its battery?

Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For disk repairs use Disk Utility.  For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. Drive Genius provides additional tools not found in Disk Warrior.  Versions 1.5.1 and later are Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems. For more about malware see Macintosh Virus Guide.
I would also recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX 2.4.3, or Cocktail 5.1.1 that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    SuperDuper!
    SyncTwoFolders
    Synk Pro
    Synk Standard
    Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
Additional suggestions will be found in Mac Maintenance Quick Assist.
Referenced software can be found at CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
Be sure you have an adequate amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run concurrently. Be sure you leave a minimum of 10% of the hard drive's capacity as free space.

  • My 4th gen 32gb iPod touch recently crashed for more than 12 hours during which time it was completely unresponsive. This is not the first time it has crashed but by far the longest time it has been unresponsive. What are the likely causes of this?

I don't regularly use any apps beyond Windows Live, Facebook, Skype etc. but app crashes are becoming frequent and this recent blackout was disturbing. What are the potential causes of this and how can I avoid them in the future?

it's weird , your device is not jailbreraked and it crashes? my device is jailbreaked and i almost have the same problems.
    look, to avoid these problems:
1- dont open too much apps , and if you do , close them by multitasking menu.
2-try sometimes to turn off and on your device , its like refreshing ( called "respringing" in jailbreaked devices.
if you have the same problem , see an apple specialist.
    plz mask as helphul question.

  • What are the security implications of having JAVA running on my Mac Book Pro?

What are the security implications of having JAVA running on my Mac Book Pro?

Java on the Web (not to be confused with JavaScript, to which it's not related, despite the similarity of the names) is a weak point in the security of any system. Java is, among other things, a platform for running complex applications in a web page, on the client. That was always a bad idea, and Java's developers have proven themselves incapable of implementing it without also creating a portal for malware to enter. Past Java exploits are the closest thing there has ever been to a Windows-style virus affecting OS X. Merely loading a page with malicious Java content could be harmful.
Fortunately, client-side Java on the Web is obsolete and mostly extinct. Only a few outmoded sites still use it. Try to hasten the process of extinction by avoiding those sites, if you have a choice. Forget about playing games or other non-essential uses of Java.
Java is not included in OS X 10.7 and later. Discrete Java installers are distributed by Apple and by Oracle (the developer of Java.) Don't use either one unless you need it. Most people don't. If Java is installed, disable it — not JavaScript — in your browsers.
Regardless of version, experience has shown that Java on the Web can't be trusted. If you must use a Java applet for a task on a specific site, enable Java only for that site in Safari. Never enable Java for a public website that carries third-party advertising. Use it only on well-known, login-protected, secure websites without ads. In Safari 6 or later, you'll see a lock icon in the address bar with the abbreviation "https" when visiting a secure site.

Because your issue is about ASP.NET website programming, I suggest that you can consult your issue on ASP.NET forum:

Are you referring to compressed files in your statement?
If yes, then let me give you a general idea about it -
Compressed file occupy less memory space as compared to its uncompressed counterpart, and hence can be uploaded/downloaded faster than the uncompressed one.
Moreover Compressed files are less vulnerable to Malwares and Trojans, provided it is Locked and encrypted as well, Uncompressed files are more vulnerable to Malwares and viruses in general.
I would love to help you with your query however i need to know that in which context you are asking this question so that i can point you in the right direction. Moreover please let me know if you are facing any type of Technical issue in any Adobe Product or Online service.
