What are these DR$TEMP % tables and can they be deleted?

We are generating PL/SQL using ODMr and then periodically running the model in batch mode. Out of 26,542 objects in the DMUSER1 schema, 25,574 are DR$TEMP% tables. Should the process be cleaning itself up or is this supposed to be a manual process? Is the cleanup documented somewhere?

Hi Doug,
The only DR$ tables/indexes built are the ones generated by the Build,Apply and Test Activities. I confirmed that they are deleted in ODMr 10.2.0.3. As I noted earlier, there was a bug in ODMr 10.2.0.2 which would lead to leakage when deleting Activities. You will have DR$ table around for existing Activities, so do not delete these without validating they are no longer part of an existing Activity.
You can track down the DR$ objects associated to an Activity by viewing the text step in the activity and finding the table generated for the text data. This table will have a text index created on it. The name of that text index is used as a base name for several tables which Oracle text utilizes.
Again, all of these are deleted when you delete an Activity with ODMr 10.2.0.3.

My wife is showing 239GB of local backups so it seems that the "compression" of these may not be happening. It would be nice to have the ability to "configure" the local backup frequency.
Having the "advanced" ability to configure Time Machine to take backups when we want would be a great addition as my wife plugs her external in every night. The periodic backup once a day in the middle of the day would be nice as well but seeing as Time Machine is now defaulting to backing up every 10-15 minutes I can see why she suddenly has ~240GB of backups.

HT1414 upon updating to ios 7.0.2 all my gopro black hd videos will not play they show as gray in colour. Are these files still there and can they be restored they ran perfectly until the update

upon updating my ipad to ios7.0.2 all of the go pro black videos show as gray and when you click on them they come up first frame but will not play. can they be restored or are they lost. they played perfectly in both i movie and camera role before upgrade.

I'm searching for an answer to almost the same exact problem, using almost the same exact hardware and software. Has an answer been found?
The files that I'm trying to burn come from eMusic, and they are formatted mp3. Recently, (after the iTunes update to 9.2.3?,) they would not drag and drop from iTunes into Toast. From several different discussions I've tried working around this by dragging to the desktop first then dragging and dropping to Toast, going to Toast from a programmer's homemade help window, " iToons," and today, after talking with Apple support, going directly to Toast from my eMusic folder. Alas, all recordings do not perform like they use to. Sometimes they play and sometimes not. There is one I managed, that is listenable, but sometimes I have to put it in my car stereo over and over again as it gets ejected with an error code, sometimes, finally it takes it... Some of the recordings on other disks I've burned are not clean - they have white-noise sounds creeping in... I use to have none of these problems. One time as I was listening to a CD that managed to play, and it just stopped playing... Is there an answer out there to get back to how it use to be? Thanks for you help.

I created a database manually so it can not be managed through Enterprise Manager yet. When I run the database configuration assistant to configure it with Enterprise Manager, in the alert log file, i get the error message:
oracle.sysman.emcp.exception.EMConfigException: Failed to unlock all EM-related accounts
What are these EM-related accounts and how do I unlock them?

It gets locked by some Critical Patch Updates.
You can also configure em/dbconsole with emca.

If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information. Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud. I just got a new Imac, and downloaded files from my old PC. Now, when I go to Finder, I have 1500 files in an area called developer. What is this, and can they be deleted? There are also 78 files listed as Other! Most of these files I do not recognize.

Did you use the Migration Assistant to help set up the new iMac using some of the files in the older PC? Some likely won't mean much, unless you have applications that can use or convert them. There's also a way to use the software Time Machine to import data files from an external or another computer, so you may have used that, too.
Hopefully someone with experience in a similar issue will reply...

Other content is typically miscellaneous data used by applications you have installed - could be save data (e.g. for games), or documents you've created. There's no easy way to determine precisely what it is, but the only way to clear it is to either delete it from within the respective application, or remove the associated application altogether - neither of which are typically practical.

Very few apps run in the background - mainly music playing apps and GPS apps. Double-clicking the Home button gives you a list of previously used apps, not (as so many people believe) "running" apps. You can delete the apps from the list if you wish, but it will make no difference to energy usage (unless they actually are running, as in the categories above. You should know if you are using GPS or if you can hear music).

Have you seen that other problem I encountered when capturing old DV tapes containing edited "exported to tape" videos?
FCP X split them into their component clips, which was OK, but then re-arranged them into the order they had been shot, thus turning my edited videos into 300 piece jigsaws.
I suppose there's no way to make FCP X return all the clips to the order in which they were imported?
Group Clips By Date Imported is no use as they were all imported on the same day.
Pity you can't group them by the time they were imported.

Are "Previous Systems" files important or can they be deleted?

There is a file in my the hard Drive of the MacBook entitled "Previous Systems.localized" which is taking up 9.72GB of space. Is this important or can I delete it to create space on the start up disk?

Did you recently do an 'Archive and Install'? If so, that file may be leftover from your previous system. If things are working smoothly after a week or so I'd go ahead and delete the entire prev. system.

Difference between Temp table and Variable table and which one is better performance wise?

Anyone could you explain What is difference between Temp Table (#, ##) and Variable table (DECLARE @V TABLE (EMP_ID INT)) ?
Which one is recommended to use for better performance?
also Is it possible to create CLUSTER and NONCLUSTER Index on Variable table?
In my case: 1-2 days transactional data are more than 3-4 Millions. I tried using both # and table variable and found table variable is faster.
Is that Table variable using Memory or Disk space?

TempTables & TableVariables both use memory & tempDB in similar manner, check this blog post: http://sqlwithmanoj.com/2010/07/20/table-variables-are-not-stored-in-memory-but-in-tempdb/
Performance wise if you are dealing with millions of records then TempTable is ideal, as you can create explicit indexes on top of them. But if there are less records then TableVariables are good suited.
On Tables Variable explicit index are not allowed, if you define a PK column, then a Clustered Index will be created automatically.
But it also depends upon specific scenarios you are dealing with , can you share it?

I get unusual numbers on my daughter's cell phone. What are these? It doesn't appear they are costing me anything -- but I want to make sure. The numbers are listed as: "0000002653." Any ideas what this means?

In most cases they are text alerts that she has signed up for, example: Radio Shack, weather.com, etc.
