What audio cable do I need to hook from macbook pro to an amp?

Yeah, just wondering if any audio cable will work to hook from Macbook Pro (10..5.8) to an amp?  Not skilled in this area at all!  thanks!

It would help to know what inputs your amp has, what outputs your computer has, and what you are trying to accomplish.

what cable do i need to connect my macbook pro to the hdmi input on my tv?.

    hi Sam
It's actally an HDMI adapter that Apple sells.
You hook the small adapter up to your MBP and then HDMI cable to your TV. Please note adapter is for HDMI compliant for HDMI rev 1.3 and above:
My TV, which has DVI port also, besides HDMI gets its best resolution by DVI of which also sell at Apple store for the MBP.
Bottom line is check w/ your TV manufacture to be sure your flat screen supports 1920 X 1200.
    Let 'er rip and...
    cheers

  • HT5299 which cables do I need to connect my macbook pro 2013 to an hd tv?

which cables do I need to connect my macbook pro 2013 to an hd tv?  The port's on the side have changed from my previous Mac.  Thank you.

If you have a retina MBP use a HDMI to HDMI cable.
If you have a non retina MBP, use a minidisplay port to HDMI cable.  Insert the minidisplay end in the Thunderbolt port.
    Ciao.

  • What is the best way to transfer iPhoto from MacBook Pro to iMac?

What is the best way to transfer iPhoto from MacBook Pro to iMac?

the only way is Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

  • What cable do i need to connect a Macbook pro to a Cinema HD Screen in order see my laptop screen larger?

I want to connect my Macbook Pro up to a cinema HD screen so that i can use a larger screen for editing photos. I am unsure what cable i need to do this, my screen already has a cable attached but won't fit into the macbook due to the fitting (i am unsure of the name of the cable.) Also can a cinema HD screen be calibrated?

You will need either a mini-Displayport to VGA or DVI, and the corresponding VGA or DVI cable to the monitor.

  • What cable do I need to connect my MacBook Pro 17 inch to an Epson EX71 Projector

My old MacBook Pro had a video adaptor port that is no longer on the newest MacBook Pro that I purchased in June 2011. Not sure which cable I need.

The new Mac Book Pros have a Thunderbolt connector, whcih is compatible with Mini Displayport cables/adapters for external displays and projectors.
Accord to Epson, the EX71 has analog 15 pin D-sub  WXGA inputs, and HDMI digital inputs which are suitable for computer display. Buy an adapter/cable that goes from "MiniDisplayPort to VGA" for analog, or MiniDisplayPort to HDMI for digital. If you don't need sound included over HDMI, you could use a MiniDIsplayPort to DVI adapter with a DVI to HDMI adapter, and extender cable to convey the video portion.
Also, check the Apple note on MDP to HDMI:

  • What hbmi cord do I need to connect my Macbook Pro retina display to a Windows desktop?

I'm trying to connect my Windows desktop to my Macbook Pro retina dispay so i can transfer CD's. ALthough I dont know what cord to get.

Your post is a little confusing. HDMI is for connecting video, like hooking your Mac to a TV. It sounds like you want to transfer files. If you have a wireless network, just share the folder with the music on your Windows machine and you should be able to copy it to your Mac.

  • What add-ons do I need on my new Macbook Pro?

My MacBook Pro was recently stolen so therefore I will be needing a new one very soon. I just graduated from college with a Digital Filmmaking major and a Marketing minor. I hope to break into the film/tv/commercial industry soon, obviously with an entry level job on the production side. Any advice on hardware/software configurations, or any 'must-haves' for my new MacBook Pro?
(I would just go to an Apple store but the closest one is over three hours away)
This is my first post so please forgive me if there are any flaws.
    Thanks for your time,
    J

  • Using an HDMI cable to connect to a monitor from Macbook Pro, but no sound

I just purchased a HP2159 HD monitor, and hooked it up to my macbook pro via an HDMI cable, but there is no sound. Can anyone help me?

What do you mean by "properly setup?" There is no setup. Just plug it in.

  • Need some advice from MacBook Pro users

Hi all. I've been using Windows for as long as I've ever owned a computer. I have a background in graphic design and finally came down to needing a notebook. After some careful consideration I've decided to go with a Mac. I have used them before in the past on job and off and I've had some bad and good experiences with the Mac.
What I am trying to figure out is I have heard the Macbook pro has some heating issues. I am also not sure if I really need the macbook pro. I could easily just use the 13' inch without the graphic card. What I typically do is design in photoshop, dreamweaver, surf the net, etc. Basically it is a business computer. I don't use it to play games and as such I want to make sure I am making the right choice.
Is the Macbook 15' right for me? I am worried about over heating issues.
Also I could easily buy the 13' and just bump the ram to 2 gigs. I just wanted to see what everyone thought. Any advice?
      Windows XP

I just updated to the MacBook Pro 15 from a PowerBook 12, the MBP does seem a bit hotter than the PB but its not that bad of a problem, at least not when using Photoshop and Illustrator.
However, in terms of design, if you will be using the notebook as yoru primary design machine without an external monitor, the MBP 15 would be a much better choice. I'm an art director and I only use the notebook when I'm on location, most of the actual design work is still done on a G5 desktop. The MBP's screen is actually big enough to be productive in Photoshop and other design software, but the smaller screens like 13" can be a bit tough on the eye in the long term, managing screen real estate can also be annoying. Not to mention, the new glossy screen is very beautiful.

  • How to get audio to go to tv using mirroring from macbook pro

How do I get the audio to go to my tv using mirroring with a macbook pro?

As it turns out, my external speakers right channel had failed. Audio and system alert sounds were "underwhelming" on the built-in iMac speakers but now play back clearly via the Apple TV over my shoulder.
You can also find audio mirroring options in iTunes (bottom right corner). But it doesn't send System sounds or anything that isn't playing directly in iTunes.
