What bluetooth serial ports settings for?
While configuring my A2dp stereo headset/handsfree with Lion, i notices that there is an option for editing serial ports for each device. It gives some option to add a profile. Can someone tell me what exactly it is for and how can I use it for my advantage, if any?

Well, it seems like I've figured it out. I deleted the pairings (and thus the related serial ports), re-paired (probably not necessary; I probably could've just deleted the serial ports and re-added them), and I haven't had problems since.
It seems that the problems were related to the fact that I renamed the ports to considerably shorter names (i.e. bt-gps instead of PharosiGPS-BT-GPSRFcom-1). I've left both ports with their original names and have had no problems since.

Two Bluetooth Serial Ports - lots of RFCOMM errors
Ok... So I'm sure I'm a unique case here, but I'll throw it out anyway, just in case anyone else might be experiencing the same problem, or might know of a fix...
I'm trying to use two Bluetooth serial ports, a Bluetooth GPS and a ham radio TNC (think of it as an RF modem), simultaneously. I was able to do it twice, so I know it can work, but in getting to those two times, I encountered numerous RFCOMM errors mentioning authentication, other failed or hung up connection attempts (The Powerbook seemed to connect to the device, but no data flowed to the application), and even a few "You need to restart your computer. Hold the power button down for a few seconds..." (I guess you could call it the black screen error?) screens. Many times, I could get one device to connect and pass data, but the second one would cause errors. Sometimes I couldn't even get one device to connect.
The devices I'm connecting to are a Pharos iGPS-BT and a Socket Cordless Serial Adapter. The GPS comm settings are 4800-7-E-1 and the serial adapter is at 9600-8-N-1.
Like I said, I actually accomplished it twice, so I know it can be done, but it seems to be a LOT harder getting there than it really should be. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?Well, it seems like I've figured it out. What are the correct settings for my WRT54GS for using remote access on a Windows Home Server?

I have opened ports 80, 443,and 4125 to PCP. The router address is http://192.168.1.1, my address is 221.40.138.170.

Hi All,
What are the ports required for the Audio, Video and A/V conferencing when the following clients are enabled for QoS in Lync 2013 server?
Client Type
Port range and Protocol required for Audio
Port range and Protocol required for
Video
Port range and Protocol required for
A/Vconferencing
Windows Desktop Client
Windows mobile App
Iphone
Ipad
Andriod phone
Andriod Tablet
MAC desktop client
Please advise. Many Thanks.Out of the box, 1024-65535 for all of the client ports. :)
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398833.aspx
You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings. I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.
Elan's got the best writeup for Windows clients here:
http://www.shudnow.net/2013/02/16/enabling-qos-for-lync-server-2013-and-various-clients-part-1/
However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part. Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings. You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

What are the required settings for Quality Certificate
Hi Team

Please sugget me T-Code to view this.
Can I see say for 6-9 months RR done insp. lot.
ThanksSettings for Quality Certificate for Raw material from vendor,
Activate QM Procurement key, enter qm control key with certificate and Enter certificate type in certificate field.
There are 2 cases,
u want details of certificate send by vendor
u want to record results and see inspection lot wise results.
case1
depending upon the certificate selected by u, system will give u warning or error msg for certificate confirmation at the time of gr. for confirmation QC51 t_code is used. here status has to be changed to 'filed and inspected' then gr will be allowed.
all these certificates can be dispalyed in QC55 T_CODE.

What are the best settings for ripping cd's in the AAC format?
I have researched and found out that the AAC format rules over the MP3 format as fas as sound quality goes with lossy formats. Example: AAC at 128 is better than MP3 at 160 as so forth. My questions are: What are the best settings for ripping cd's in the AAC format? Will I be able to burn cd mixes with the tracks I import into itunes after importing using the AAC format? Does the AAC format have VBR like the MP3 format? Is there other ripping software such as dbPoweramp and Exact Audio Copy that does a better job ripping cd's in the AAC format? Please help!

It is a matter of opinion, but I suggest 256 kb/s, CBR, and leave all other settings on automatic.
Will I be able to burn cd mixes with the tracks I import into itunes after importing using the AAC format?
Yes. Just put them in a playlist and burn.
Does the AAC format have VBR like the MP3 format?
Yes. You will see it as an option in the Import Settings.
Is there other ripping software such as dbPoweramp and Exact Audio Copy that does a better job ripping cd's in the AAC format?
EAC does a better job of correcting errors in damaged CDs, but for normal CDs iTunes does a fine job of ripping to AAC. -

Adapt QCM serial port VIs for USB QCM
I am trying to adapt Labview VIs that use a serial port and use them a QCM that uses a USB port. Does anyone know how I can do this. I have limited labview experience.
The USB QCM gives me data for the thickness and mass gains of the materials deposited but I cannot correlate those mass gains with the pressures in the reactor. I need to correlate the mass gains with the pressures so I can know the pressure profiles of the materials I deposit. The serial port VIs (for a different QCM) save the data for the mass gain and the corresponding pressure but I cannot do that with the USB QCM. That is why I want to adapt the older programs which store all the information and use it with the new QCM.
Thanks
-SiceloYou would likely want to use VISA to communicate with this USB device. If you get the VISA alias for the device, you should be able to replace your serial code with VISA code that does very similar things (such as read and write). This link shows the kind of thing you should encounter when using LabVIEW to control a USB device.

What is the definitive settings for MTU, Beacon Interval, Fragmentation, RTS etc
I'm getting frequent disconnects on my new E2000. Particuallrily if I'm streaming video or connected to my companies VPN on my wireless laptop. I've seen a number of other people have similar issues and the fix seems to be to tweek a few different settings. I'm comfortable doing this but each of the "Network Admins" seems to post a different set of values that seem to be randomly distributed around some normals.
How can I figure out what are the best settings for me?
Wireless I have
-2 Laptops (wireless G)
-PS3
-Nintendo DSi
Wired which probably doesn't factor in but for completeness I have a desktop PC.
Thank youWless problem is usually because of interference/interruptions which can usually be solved by setting a better channel.
Try it first.
If problem cannot be solved by changing channels, upgrade the router
if all fails, you can change your beacons to 50 RTS and Fragmentation threshold to 2304 -
What are Novells recommended settings for policies
Hello,
Who can tell me please what are Novells recommended settings for policies? Should we make a few big Policy where everything is handled (for example a policy for standalone workstations, one for desktop PCs, one for notebooks etc..) or single policies (for example "Desktop Wallpaper", "Enable Active Desktop", or "Turn off Aero Shake window minimizing mouse gesture" and so on) and put them in a PolicyGroup. What is the best way?The fewer the policies the better.
Generally Folks do something such as a WS assigned policy as a baseline
and then a user one to over-ride.
Trying to create one policy per setting would likely cause windows great
confusion as well as being very slow.
