Just switched over from a PC to a Macbook Pro. My Firewire cable that I used with my Canon Elura 70 Mini DV camera doesn't work with the Macbook Pro.

All you need is an Ethernet cable.
Just plug it into both machines. Don't bother with a crossover cable, just a plain old Ethernet cable will do. The Ethernet ports on the Macs are smart and will adjust appropriately.

I am wondering if I can set up a dual monitor for my imac late 2013. I'm quite new to macs so bear with me. I'm a university student studying maya (digital vfx animation) and I need desperately to hve a dual set up. My mac is the 21.5inches. What cable would I need and would monitor would you recommend that would be a good match to my mac. I can afford around £150 but cheaper the better. I am a student who is also a full time disabled single mum lol so funds are scarce.

I also have the 4000NEX and upgraded to CarPlay yesterday as well. All you need is a standard USB to Lightning cable and connect it to the USB1 connection on the back of the unit. My installer, like most, have a cable coming out from the back of my unit that I can plug directly into. Very easy!
You don't need all the extra cabling that was required to use the AppRadio part of the NEX.

I bought a new car yesterday and it has a jack (little hole in the radio area) to plug my 4th generation iPod Touch into so I can get audio. I don't know what sort of a cable I need to make this work. Do I need a 30 pin connector on one end and a jack on the other end? I have not seen such an animal before. Or is it two 3.5 mm pins? The car also has a power outlet to charge my iPod so I bought a Griffin Power Jolt to do that.Where does one buy the audio thingy? If you know that WalMart or Best Buy or Radio Shack has such a thing I'd prefer to buy it in a retail store so I can get it NOW.
Also, will the sound come from my car speakers or from the iPod?

Does the information that came with the car say anything? Is the receptacle the same size as a standard 3.5 mm receptacle? To me it appears that if it is the right size then a cable with 3,5 male plugs on both ends will work. Probably both Radio Shack (or whatever they cat it today) and Best Buy wold have one. WHen a device is plugged into the earphone receptacle on the iPod, it disable the iPod's speakers on the 4G.

Actually you need a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter. It will carry both audio and video.

You need either a FireWire 800 to FW 400 cable or a FR 800 (male)/FW(female) adopter.
However. it the Mini (note that you still have the late 2012 Mini, Apple has not updated the Mini since then) has Mavericks it may not work satisfactorily. I tried it on my 2102 and I get abount 1 frame every 20 seconds. Another uses posted same problem.
However, it it work fine on my late 2009 Mini with Mavericks

But what I do not like in that picture (my personal view, others may think differently), is that there is much plastic around the connectors where the cable must fit. You may ot may not be able to get the cable to *fully seat* with the adapter.
Other adapters (http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0334087, yes I know this is a DVI) hve no plastic barriers to connections.

That's a nice Pioneer DVD±RW drive - and an upgraded replacement for the original optical drive that shipped with that G5. For a finished look, you'd want to install it in an external enclosure for 5.25" IDE/ATAPI drives that converts it to USB connectivity. Because SATA optical drives have replaced ATAPI drives in recent years, the selection is getting more limited for a new enclosure, although used ones can undoubtedly be found at ebay. Here's an example of one, although it only features USB connectivity. You can also find enclosures that have both FireWire and USB connectivity, which for Mac users is beneficial. Booting the computer (if needed) by a FireWire-connected device is generally more reliable than USB booting. If this isn't important to you, then a USB-only enclosure would be adequate. The enclosure will have directions, but essentially all you need to do is plug in the power cable and data ribbon cable and then secure the drive to the bottom plate of the enclosure with the included machine screws.

This is my SB Li've! 5. from the back. The black whole is labeled "or digital" .
I have my Z-680 ( 5. Surround Speakers with DD Decoder) attached with 3 x 3.5 mm to have real 5. Sound in EAX Games.

Yes it's a mono 3.5mm >> RCA adapter (or a stereo 3.5mm >> 2xRCA cable). You need to use the orange socket labelled 'DIGITAL OUT'.
