What cable to connect the fa0/0 port on a router to the fa0/0 switch port

i don't know if i know this question, but i got it in the exam recently and i chose - straight-through cable. please is this right? if not then what is the right cable to use?

Hi Friend,
As Paresh already confirmed you the right answer but I will tell you the trick to remember this.
Divide the major network devices in 2 groups
Group A (Router,PC,Server)
Group B (Switch,Bridge,Hub)
Whenever you have to connect devices in 2 different groups use straight through cable and when you have to connect any devices in same group use corss cable.
HTH, if yes please rate the post.

what  cable i can use for Thunderbolt port?

You can use a mini displayport cable as long as it is connected to a mini displayport peripheral.
You can use a thunderbolt cable as long as it is connected to a thunderbolt peripheral.
There are now thunderbolt cables available in the Apple store.

  • What cable for connecting macbook air to dell ultrasharp u2412m?

would like comments on best cable for connecting my mackboo air ro adell monitor - Iam new to apple and a bit lost.

The new Airs have mini displayport connectors. I don't know what ports your monitor has, but if it has an HDMI input you can use a mini-DP to HDMI adaptor (these are available from Apple) and then a regular HDMI cable to connect to the screen. Similarly, a mini-DP to DVI adaptor and DVI cable if that's the port you have on your monitor.

  • What cable to connect iPhone to TV after 1.1.1??

The iPhone update 1.1.1 allows the iPhone to output audio/video to a TV. What cable do you use?

Interesting fact on the AV cables.
Apple's original AV cables which do connect to line out port of the adapters will play audio but no video. I dropped my 5G video ipod into cradle and saw clear video and audio.
I dropped my iPhone into the cradle and got an onscreen message that the device was not compatible. I did hear audio via the cables but there was no video.
I attached the cable to the cradle included with the iPhone and did not get the error message but still got no video.
It appears that you must purchase the most recent edition of the AV cable. Mine is barely a year old so I am a bit jaded that the new $49 cable is necessary to get video out of the iPhone.

  • Tecra M11: What cable to connect to HDMI TV

    a few quick questions,
    1. Which cable should i get to plug my laptop to the tv preferably HDMI?
I only have a mini port something and a SATA sockets...
    2. I would like to try and use my laptop for faxing however there is no modem can i buy one?
What exactly do i need to buy if so? cause i dont have the phone jack socket to plug a telephone line in...
Will a docking station help? whats in the docking station??
    THANKS
    Etty

    M11-103 that's my model name...
how do i check if i have an integrated modem?
the thing is, if i do or even if i get an external solution, i still have to plug the pc to the phone line, using the old phone line cable...
as for the hdmi, the end of the cable that connects to the tv needs to b hdmi but on my notebook the socket i have is a mini port, so what do u call the cable that has miniport on one end and hdmi on the other?
now, i have a couple of more questions, every time i listen to music or watch a movie and i tilt the notebook just a bit, the music/video skips, stops or is stuck for 2-3 seconds... why is that and how do i make it stop? could it b a mechanical problem?
and one more thing, on my device manager i see two audio devices, one is Intel(R) display audio
the second is realtek(R) high definition audio with ec, what does that mean and how do i look for maybe a software to help me configure more advanced qualities of my audio cause for now its not so good.... (add maybe reverb, enhance sound stuff like that that usually come with the realtek(R) audio cards)
    THANKS for everything....

  • Is there a cable that connects the 4s to an Ihome product

I purchased an iHome docking station for my husband for Christmas.  We are having a difficult time connectng the phone and docking station with the phone in the otter box.  Any suggestions for a cable that would connect the two?

Here's an actual response rather than a snotty blow-off:
You can't use the cheaper dock extension cables. even if they say "30-pin pass-through" they won't work with the iHome.
You need one of the $20+ cables or "stubs" -- i.e. DockStubz, CableJive, etc. The "stub" works fine but I find it precarious -- there's no support for the weight of the device. (Why do they make these things like this?) The cable is better if you don't care about the phone sitting nicely in the top of the iHome.
There is no other way, at this point. It's a stupid design flaw common to a number of devices I've used or seen -- can't fit the iPad/iPhone/Touch with a case on, even though most people use cases, and it would be very simple to include a fourth adapter insert with the iHome shaped properly to accept cases and bumpers.

  • What cable to connect MacBookPro w Retina to old tv

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro with Retina display and would like to display movies I stream on an old tv. What cable do I need to do this? Which port on my Mac?
    Thanks!

Most TVs that did not come with more than RCA-connectors cannot achieve even 720p, many being stuck at 480p.  Not to be negative, but BestBuy offers 32 in 720p TV for such low $$ anymore.
Sorry if I give "quality" advice instead of "what connectors work" advice.

  • 17inch Studio Display - What Cable to connect to Mac Pro?

    Hi Folks:
I just got a Mac Pro with a 23" cinema display, and an ATI X-1900 card, but I also have a 17inch Studio Display that I was using with a G5. Which cable adapter do I need to connect the 17inch display to the Mac Pro as a second monitor?

I have the 17 inch studio display connected to my Mac Pro (X1900) via the ADC to DVI adaptor. It sits next to a 23in Cinema HD Display. If you do this be prepared for the rather shocking difference in display quality. I hardly ever use the 17in because I can't stand to look at it compared to the 23in. You probably are better off getting a newer cheaper monitor rather than spending $100 bucks on the adaptor.

This might help ya out -> iPad: Using iPad Camera Connector with unsupported USB devices
If you encounter an issue trying to connect a digital camera through an unsupported USB device, try the following steps:
Disconnect the iPad Camera Connector from iPad.
Disconnect any USB device connected to the iPad Camera Connector.
    Restart iPad.
Reconnect the iPad Camera Connector and then connect your digital camera directly to the iPad Camera Connector.
You may need to connect certain cameras, USB Audio, or MIDI devices to a powered USB hub for the iPad Camera Connector to detect them. Find more information on using the iPad Camera Connection Kit.
Note: If you encounter an issue using a USB audio or MIDI device, contact the manufacturer to confirm that the device is compatible with the iPad Camera Connector.
What type of camera do you have connected to the adapter?

  • What cables to connect to the VGA monitor

    Hello,
From what I know the Mini Mac 2010 includes a HDMI to DVI monitor adapter. I have a LCD display with a VGA port. How do I use this adapter to connect it to the monitor VGA port. I am thinking about connecting HDMI --> DVI adapter (included)to DVI ---> VGA adapter (purchase) to my monitor. Will it work?
Also, how do I know if the Mini Mac is 2010 or early version before I buy it?
    Thanks.

Using the stack of adapters you suggest will definitely not work. The VGA monitor is not a digital signal, where the HDMI is. DVI specs support both analog and digital signals, but when using a DVI to HDMI cable it should have the digital only version of the DVI connector. Even if you can find adapters to fit, you can not go between HDMI and VGA without a digital to analog conversion device in the middle.
Your only practical option is the Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter.
If you are asking how to tell a 2010 HDMI equipped mini from earlier models, its quite simple - the HDMI native models are all the unibody aluminum design. The earlier models without HDMI have the plastic top.

  • Cable to connect to LocalDirector console port

    Hello,
my question is about getting access to the LocalDirector 430 through the console port: I thought it was just a regular rollover cable (with pins 1 through 8 reversed), but for some reason, that doesn´t seem to work. I know that there is a Cisco console kit for the LocalDirector, but does anybody know what the difference, if any, is between that console kit and a regular RJ-45 rollover cable ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Nethelper

Console cable and the rollover cable are one and the same. Any device with a console port should work with the roll over cable.

  • If Apple is so full of geniuses, why can't they come up with a usb cable to connect the iPad to a printer? This would seem like the most intelligent first choice for those of us who are absolutely frustrated with iPad printing functionality.

My sister has an iPad and an HP printer. She cant' print from her iPad even though a genius at the Apple Store sold the combination to her with the idea that it would be easy to do. Instead, I have to go to her place with my MacBook, she sends me an email, and I hook up my laptop to her printer to print what she needs. Why can't the Apple geniuses come up with a USB cable and an OS update to make it easy and NOT SO FRUSTRATING to print from the iPad?
I've been a Mac user for fifteen years but I could not, in good conscience, recommend an iPad to anyone until Apple considers that ease of use does not include regularly getting frustrated with the easiest of tasks.

all printers speak a diffrent "computer language" for a device to understand this language
    a driver is required
some devices such a computers come with drivers for a long line of printers and other devices
apple decided that it was better not to include that huge list of drivers as users would then not have
much storage left for media and apps
then apple let printer makers make apps for printing in app store and make printers support airprint

  • What cable to connect 24" Dell to G5 with 800XT card?!

    Hi All,
The Dell has a smaller dvi port than the Powermac with the ATI card.... is there a specific cable I need?!
Any help would be very much appreciated...
    Jon

Hi Steve, The Dell does, but the 800XT card seems to have a slightly bigger dvi port, a few mm longer. My 23" Apple screen hooks right up to it with no problems but the DVI cable that came with the Dell is too small.
    How frustrating!
    Jon
