the link contains 2 pictures that i took with my cell phone at the college, at the podium. the other ends of these cables connect to the classrooms projector. what cable to i need to purchase in order to connect my macbook to the projector? and around how much? is apple the best place to get whatever cable i need ot ebay? :-p
thanks!

you need a mini-dvi to vga adapter to connect to the first cable you have pictured. A mini DVI to video adapter will work with the other which looks to be an S-video cable.
The minii dvi to vga should do the trick

Actually you need a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter. It will carry both audio and video.
This one will work: Mini DisplayPort | Thunderbolt® to HDMI® Adapter w/ Audio Support

What cable do I need to connect my 27 inch iMac to my Cinema Display to have two displays?

It depends on what type(s) of video input you have on your TV. If you've an open HDMI port on your TV, you can use a Thunderbolt (Mini DisplayPort) to HDMI adapter and it will carry the sound also. See -> here.

What cable do I need to connect an I-pod classic to a Boze wave machine?

If you're trying to transfer the music, from the Nano to the Air, you have to either download your purchased songs again in the purchased tab of iTunes or sync them to the Air, using iTunes on your computer.
Its been a few years since I've used a Nano, but IIRC, the only way to get the music on the device to begin with is by syncing with iTunes, so the songs have to be in your iTunes library.

    hi Sam
It's actally an HDMI adapter that Apple sells.
You hook the small adapter up to your MBP and then HDMI cable to your TV. Please note adapter is for HDMI compliant for HDMI rev 1.3 and above:
My TV, which has DVI port also, besides HDMI gets its best resolution by DVI of which also sell at Apple store for the MBP.
Bottom line is check w/ your TV manufacture to be sure your flat screen supports 1920 X 1200.
    Let 'er rip and...

What cable do I need to connect iPhone /iPad to my receiver

Any stereo audio cable will work strictly for audio, just like your headphones.
If you want to use AirPlay Mirroring you need an AirPlay - compatible receiver, or an AppleTV.
Denon, Marantz, Pioneer, Onkyo, Yamaha and others all manufacture AirPlay compatible receivers.

  • What cables do I need to connect MacBook Pro to the TV VGA port

    Hi,
The HDMI port on my Maxent tv is not working.  I am hoping to connect my MacBook Pro to the TV via the VGA port on the TV to watch Netflix and movies.  What cables do I need that will connect to a VGA port on a TV from my MacBook Pro (2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)?  And will that cable support audio or will I need a separate audio cable?
    Thanks-
    Sheri
    OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

    Hey Sheri Lynn,
Thanks for the question. Our online store has a helpful tool that should guide you through the process of picking the best adapter for your MacBook model. You can check it out here:
Get help choosing Mac video adapters - Apple Store (U.S.)
    http://store.apple.com/us/mac/mac-accessories/cables/cable-chooser#!
If you are connecting via VGA you will need a separate audio cable if your TV supports it.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • What cable do I need to connect to my stereo reciever ?

What specific cable do I need to connect my Mac Pro to my 90's Denon Stereo reciever ? The back of my Mac Pro has an optical port.
Any links to specific cables would be really helpful; if possible.
The back of my reciver looks like this.
    http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1064/1459892500_761b91f5c5.jpg?v=0
I've got 4 speakers connected thru my reciever and would like to use my new computer to watch DVD's in stereo.

The easy thing is, the way you connect your Mac Pro to that receiver hasn't changed since the 90s either. As Thomas said, any old 1/8" stereo plug for the Mac Pro end, combined with a simple pair of RCA plugs on the receiver end. I got mine at Radio Shack years and years ago, but monoprice.com is an excellent and cheap online source if you order enough stuff to make the shipping fee worth it.
You can either get one cable with the right plugs on each end, or sometimes it's easier to get a cable and an adapter on one end. Either way it should be super cheap.
I've still got an 80s Denon connected to the old Mac in my living room...

  • What Cable Do I Need To Connect My MacBook With a Cinema Display?

    Hi,
I have got a 23" old HD Cinema Display. It is the one with the transparent plastic around the outside. I have a 13" MacBook, Oct 2008 then discontinued, the one that looks like a MacBook Pro, and I would like to connect the laptop to the display. Which cable would I need to connect the two?
The cable coming off the cinema display has three lines on ten metal dots on the right, and a line, with two dots above and below it, on the left. On the Macbook I have got a mini dvi port.
    Thanks,

The first problem is that the 23 inch display with oval ADC connector has no power supply. You will need something like the Apple DVI-to-ADC converter, which contains the power supply to generate the 28 Volt power at up to 4 Amps needed to run the display. This will convert your display to a DVI display with a power supply "brick" in the cable. These converter/power units are readily available on the used market and have an AC power cord.
If your MacBook is an Aluminum body, it has a Mini DisplayPort. [Older models had a Mini DVI, where the center partition was folded into a C-shape.] Mini DisplayPort can be forced into "Single-Link DVD compatibility mode" with an inexpensive adapter. This solution works for DVI displays up through 1920 wide, beyond which you need the much more expensive Dual-Link converter. {If your had the Mini DVI, that is also a simple adapter.]
