What camcorders work with Elements 7?

I bought the Panasonic SDR-H40 camcorder and, if I use Premiere Elements 7 to bring up and edit the video, the quality is very poor. Panasonic even warned in the user guide that there would be poor quality unless you used their editing software (which is aweful). How do I find a camcorder that will let me upload and edit the videos in Premiere Elements 7, and not lose any video quality? I think I would like a camcorder that uses a flash drive and SD cards (I was told the batteries last longer as there are no moving parts like those that record to a hard drive). Preferably under $400.
P.S. I am running Windows Vista.

Yes, a hard drive or DVD camcorder is probably not the best choice for use with Premiere Elements or other video editing software.
Tape-based camcorders interface best with the program and provide the best results, for a variety of reasons. They also happen to be the most affordable!
For under $400, a miniDV is pretty easy to come by. At that price range, the best bets are Sonys, with Panasonic miniDVs running a close second, IMHO. (Canon makes great higher end camcorders -- but I've been disappointed with their lower end cams.)

However, I got another issue. That looks like arraylist.add(), replaces all entries rather than adds to the end of the list. I cannot find what is wrong with that. But you or some other expert will probably notice what is wrong.

What RAM works with KT3 Ultra (Orig) ????

Hey there,
SORRY BIGDADDY. Come to find out a new board
did not fix the prob I am having probs with the OS. Not
only that but several other programs don't work
like burning software, drivers, and the new DX won't
even install right. I figured NEW CPU...but as you can
see I need NEW RAM. So instead of buying PC133 for
almost the same price I figure get some DDR 2100 for
about $10-20 more and the KT3 is $10 more. Do the
math here and I could substantially increase my comp
considerably. :D
Foreveryone out there I need to know what ram works
with the KT3 Ultra. I know this board is very picking
about ram since the AMI bios is the issue.

Hey, I'm looknig for a case that will work with the dock. Are there any out there? I really like using the dock to sync my phone and I'm not happy loosing that feature in order to use a case.

Windows 7 - what version works with CS4

I currently have a laptop with Vista home basic - I upgraded to CS4 last year and it doesn't work with home basic.
Anyone have an idea what versions of windows 7 will work with CS4 before I order it?

yes but I refused to spend anymore money on an OS I hated from day one.
I use these at work all day long - but it will be nice to have them at home again.
I never had a problem before with the basic OS not working with a program - and if so , a patch was usually made
I bought my laptop a year before CS4 came out - I didn't want all the bells and whistles that Vista had - hence why I went with home basic.

Roboform lied to me when I purchased it, promising that I would receive all updates AND upgrades "for life." Then they apparently colluded with FF to turn that into a lie, because they didn't grandfather-in the customers to whom they made this promise for free upgrades. I will never buy any version of Roboform again.
I still use FIREFOX 3.6.22 because that is the last version that my version of Roboform works with. I use XP SP2. Because I don't want Microsoft's spyware and controlware on my PC, I won't be using SP3 or any version beyond XP. I will be moving completely to Linux when what I have no longer serves my needs.
I can't upgrade Firefox to any version more recent than 3.6.22 because FF has not made it clear which is the highest version that works properly with XP SP2. I can't run any version that requires XP SP3 to run properly.

Also, Firefox will work perfectly fine with XP SP2, but there is no reason why you shouldn't update XP to SP3

Working with Elements 6

I'm trying to get to know Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac and am working through 'The Missing Manual".
When I finish editing a RAW image I have the choice to 'Save as' or 'Save as copy' and can change the file format to JPEG, .psd etc. I'd like these copies to go back into my iPhoto library, alongside the originals. Instead, the saved copy disappears from view and I can only retrieve it by looking for it in Finder - for which I need to remember that the copy exists in the first place. For many of my less successful pictures I might also want to save hard disc space by deleting the RAW version and only saving the JPEG.
Is there a way to 'Save as Copy' and put the copied file back into iPhoto with the original or even to replace the original if I wish to delete the RAW version?

Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

You have probably downloaded the update package rather than the full reader installer. Request you to download and install Reader from: http://get.adobe.com/reader
