What camera will export video directly to an iPad????

Besides an iPhone, and iPod touch, and the iPad itself, what camcorders or digital cameras will interface directly with an iPad, such that you can import video WITHOUT being tethered to another computer?
Flip video won't, nor will Sony's Bloggie.  My Panasonic Lumix shoots quite nice video, but it won't import directly to my iPad -- still images will, but not the video.
Apple's web page, nor the folks at the Apple store here in Richmond, do not have a list of other cameras will work directly with iPad.
It would be really useful to have a list of point and shoot digital cameras and digital camcorders that would work, e.g., be recognized and link directly with the iPad.
I'm going on a trip to Italy in June and won't have another computer to tether thru.  I need a 'stand-alone' combination, e.g., my iPad2 and camera X!
Thanks,
Hal

Hi Hal,
I go on m roadtrip on Sunday, so have exactly the same problem as you - did you manage to find any camcorder that is compatible with the ipad?
Thanks, Toby.

  • What cameras will import directly to iMovie?

Years ago I used a mini-tape firewire camcorder that imported directly into iMovie. Since I switched to cameras that record both video and still images, I must transfer all videos from iPhoto to iMovie (a real pain since I take a lot of video).
I am in the market for a high quality, HD video camera, but I want to be able to import directly into iMovie. I am willing to splurge so price is not an issue.
    Any suggestions??

  • What are the exported video extensions in Lr3?

    I've got a bit of a mini-crisis: I re-coded a plugin which relies on Lr4 features, but needs to run in Lr3.
As coded, I'm needing to know the extension that will be used upon export, before export actually commences, for the video files.
    (I'm presently using videoExportPreset:extension(), but that's Lr4-only)
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Rob

That sounds right. Video support in LR 3 was very limited so no format
    conversion capability was provided.

  • What program will catalogue video like Aperture does photos?

I use Aperture to catalogue all my photos using Metadata and Keywords for search criteria. Is there a similar program for video or do I have to spend $1000 for Final Cut Server? Just trying to save money!
    Thanks,

Thanks. I am researching it now and catDV looks pretty good. I am still hoping that my work will buy me Final Cut Server, but this just may work in the mean time. Thanks for the pointer!

  • What's the best video presentation app for ipad

Here's what i want to do. Create a series of videos. (50-100) I want to sync my iPad to a TV. I want to set up a playlist with several of the videos. I'd want the videos to play back to back and have the option to pause the entire presentation whenever I want. It would be great if I could edit the playlist on-the-fly, while a video is playing, and without the audience seeing what I'm doing. All they see is the video being played at all times. Anything like that out there?

There are a number available in the app store, at a variety of price points (Documents, Documents to Go, OnLive, etc.). But none will be anywhere near as full featured as MS Word for Windows or Mac, so you should read the descriptions carefully.

  • Exporting video from mac to Ipad

I moved some videos from our ipad to our desktop mac and now we're trying to move them back to imovie on the Ipad. How do I do this?

See this Help page:                 Transfer media to your iOS device
You can either upload the videos using iTunes or using Photos Library (Beta). If you have Photos Library (Beta) enabled, you cannot upload using iTunes.

    Thanks Tgara.
Its funny. So far the responses have been 50/50 on this question. I even asked two seperate Apple Store employees here in NYC, and got two different answers! One said yes, the other no.
    Argh!
I know from watching the keynote speech about icloud and iOS 5 that you will be able to cut the cord between the pc and ios devices like the ipad. No more need to sync them via a cord. So will that mean i would then be able to load video directly to the ipad via tha cam kit connector from my ipod? Also i wonder if/when Apple will allow HD video from on Apple devices like a canon dslr to be able to transfer to the ipad via the cam kit connector AND be able to EDIT that footage in imovie for the ipad. Speaking of imovie for the ipad...i hope it gets an update soon as well.
Anyway....with the macbook airs getting updated next week with thunderbolt and new sandy bridge chips....i may just get one of them instead of the ipad 2 for editing video on the road. Still...i prefer surfing the web experience on the ipad. Grrrrrrr. **** youuuuuuu Apple!!! Lol

  • Export videos and pictures from an ipad to a camera kit using a sd card

i need to export videos and images from ipad mini to sd card using a camera kit, please help, and if so what app do i need to do that.

i did find another "scenic route" around, but it has some limitations, yet might be beneficial.
there is an ipad app called Easy Transfer. basically, it works through the web. you type in a web address it give you, and you can transfer files via the "refresh" button on your browser, and through your ipad.
the downer is, if you have a so-so internet connection, data is lost on video filles. i tried to transfer even a one minute video file, and it was missig frames when it got to my mac...sigh.
but, hey...it is another option, perhaps for some of you with cable modem or supa-fast webby web! ;-)

  • Camera w. mp4 video to use Camera Connection to upload directly to iPad?

I am off for some vacation adventures and the last camera I bought was a Nikon Cookpix S550 about 4 or 5 years ago. The video output is only .avi and my iPad 3 with camera connection kit can't recognize the format.
I am not bringing my iMac with me on the trip so I would really like to get a point and shoot camera that can shoot video in a format the iPad can handle with as little trouble and hassle as possible (I figure every camera will offer a photo format the iPad will recognize).
Ideally, the camera would use ssd cards for storage but I am open to any reasonably priced (i.e. under $180US) camera at this point
Would anyone recommend a camera brand or model to do this?

    Hi
Any JVC, SONY and PANASONIC mini DV camera with firewire output will work fine. You can search in www.camcorderinfo.com about features and reviews.
ABout Canon you'll find a lot of happy users around here but some others with problems. It seems that Canon implementation of firewire is not good.
Stay away from hard drive and DVD cameras if you plan to edit your footage.
    Hope that helps !

  • What is the fastest video codec to render in premiere?

I'm looking/curious for the type of video codec that premiere renders fastest. Is it, h.264, .mov, .avi, etc...??
I export alot from After FX and i need to cut down on premiere rendering time, so i want to export the video that will render fast through premiere.
My computer is too slow to do dynamic link.
What type of video does premiere render that fastest?

Your Project setting is usually "native".  eg P2 mxf, HDV, DV etc... f it matches your source.
ie. match your project to your source and then you are basically "native"
If you import a file of the same type...you are native.
Rendering depends on hardware, effects etc....
CS5 and MPE now provides a realtime edit experience in the timeline without rendering previews (for many fx.)
All exports to a final movie  require "Rendering".  The speed of that depends on the hardware and effects etc but the quickest is usually if you are rendering a movie that matches your Project.
BTW: you need to think about what the final use of the movie is.  That determines what you will export.  It may not be the fastest.

  • My exported video wobbles

I tried a few different exportation settings, but no matter what, my final exported video ends up wobbling up and down. It's not a lot, but it is kinda noticeable and unprofessional.
My video consists of an audio and a still image throught the whole video. When I export it, I end up having a video in which the image wobbles up and down. I tried different formats, changing a few settings, but it's all the same thing.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for replying.
The still image I used is 640 x 480, but I turned on the "Scale to Frame Size" so that it covered the whole video screen.
The sequence preset I used was the HDV 1080i25 (50i), so that I can have a high definition video (at least that is how I think this works).
For the export settings, I am aiming for, like I said, a high definition video, 1280 x 720 in dimension. I am a complete newbie in this regard, so if you have to use complicated concepts, I would appreciate it if you explained them beforehand.
    Thanks again.

  • Can you import video directly from a video camera ?

Can you import video directly from a video camera to the iPad 2 ? If so, what is needed?

I would say no. I have an Ipad2 with the connection kit. A recent Sony camera which works fine in imovie for my 27" imac, but nothing with the Ipad. Only thing that it finds are pictures that can be made with the same video camera. Apple wrote a note aboit probkmes with importing, but i'm very disappointed with what i have right now.
