What CAMERAS ADDED IN 10.5.4

Anyone know what RAW file/cameras have been added with Mac OS update 10.5.4?

You're right.
I should have searched for RAW instead of skimming it with these old eyes.

    All,
A very interesting NOTE to this thread. In order to try and get the "ignore permissions" box to show up in GET INFO (so I could execute Matt the Magician's solution to file sharing issues)-- I ran the terminal command for disabling ACLs on my internal HD / start up disk (as indicated in the linked thread to BDAqua's forum).
Although I understand that this was useless for disabling permissions on the start up disk (as everyone here pointed out) and allowing me to see the "ignore permissions" check box - somehow it did seem to fix my file sharing problem...and that was the root problem I wanted solved in the first place! After doing the terminal command and a quick reboot, I went in and tested file sharing on the chosen directory and I can create new files or work from existing files in the directory, with both users being able to modify / and save from both machines and each machine sees the revisions and can build from them. Bottom line - I'm stoked and want to thank everyone for their help.
The only other tweak I made was going over to my wife's machine and instead of using her log in / password, I just used my name and password to connect to my main machine that was sharing directories. Maybe that's what fixed the problem or the ACL disable but either way...I'm up and running the way I want to be.
Hope this thread helps anyone else who has these file sharing / permissions issues with Leopard. Especially for anyone wanting to do such a simple file sharing set up between 2 computers. I wish I understood exactly which tweak fixed the problem, but at least it works the way I want now.
So happy to be done w/this one!
Thx everyone. Any additional input on what solved it is welcome, so my curiosity is quelled...

  • What camera resolution mode is used by the Flash Player camera settings manager

What camera resolution is used by the Flash Player camera settings manager? I am referring to the camera settings that you have to pull up by right-clicking on a Flash Player swf that is running, and from the right-click menu you hit settings...select the camera tab...and then you can hit the little camera icon and will show you the live video feed from the camera.
In order for the live feed to be displayed, Flash Player requests a camera resolution mode to the driver. What mode is being requested?
For example, could it be 160x120 @ 30fps?
    Or is it 176x144 @ 30fps?
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help04.html#117113

I have the same cam as you (it's apretty darn good cam IMHO).
I don't ever see any resolution request when I click the icon.
My cam initializes at 1920X1080, per the logitech specs. The box in the settings is 4:3, but the cam is running at 16:9, in apps like Skype, or FaceTime (Mac).
It shows the same setup screen in WIn XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8, which ALL share the same cam on my setup.
Being as the cam feed in the setup is 4:3, I'd have to say the resolution is 160:120  as opposed to 176:144 which would be a 5.3:3 or 16:9.

  • What cameras are compatible with the ipad ?

What cameras are compatible with the I pad?

With the camera connection kit you're able to plug in regular SD cards with one adapter, while the second adapter does include a USB port to plug your camera in. I just remember reading that "most cameras" are compatible.

I also recently bought the camera kit and found that it worked fine as long as you don't format the SD card using PC. Once I re-formatted using my camera I could once again upload my photos. that was until I switched formats to Adobe RAW, it seemed unable to upload again. So I switched to S RAW and that worked fine. Sometimes my kit won't upload photos but I find that by just re-inserting the card it works fine.
Haven't tried video yet, but I recently learned that the devices are quit sensitive to the "Format"(that needs to be FAT32, or exFAT- but in this instance it needs to be formatted by a Mac).
    Good luck

The opperating system I am using is 10.7.4, and updating to the latest version currently. Computer is running fine, except that when I did some utility repairs, I got the warning above, and not really sure what do, in regards to repairing it correctly, not just getting the message off of my computer.
Thank you for your help, and please only contribute if you know about this issue please.

That's a status message which can be safely ignored.

  • What Camera is in the iPhone Model MC608LL

What camera is in my iphone 4?  Is it the one I see advertised that has 8 megapixels?  Because every picture I take is 680 x 4** something pixels in size, and the 8 megapixel claims to produce picture that can print as big as an 8x10 in. size.
    Thanks, Michele

    Hi michelepost,
The iPhone 4 has a 5 mega-pixel camera with a 640 X 480 pixel display. You can print any size photo from your camera, but the higher the number of pixels the better the quality of the larger prints. So, you can print an 8X10 picture from your iPhone 4, but the same pricture taken on an iPhone 4S and printed at that size would be sharper.
Best thing to do is try it and see if you like the result.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,

  • I dont understand what camera raw is

Can anyone explain it to me like I was in 3rd grade? How do I access it??

Camera Raw is Photoshop's raw file processor. It can also be used with other file types such as JPEG. If you know what Lightroom is, ACR is very similar to that. You can get to it by opening a raw file (or a JPEG if you have Photoshop set to open them that way), or you can also use it by right clicking on a file in Bridge and selecting "Open in Camera Raw."
Here is what Camera Raw looks like:

Really, this is a question you should be asking yourself...
What do you shoot? Makes a difference...
Typical ISO that you shoot? Makes a difference...
Shooting for clients or yourself? Makes a difference...
Look, there is no magic bullet...the ACR/LR "Default" should only be changed for those adjustments you make 70-90% of the time and sould not be confused with image by image adjustments...
So, as asked, your question can not really be answered other than to say, use a default that suits you.

If the application supported auto-save, yes, if not, then no.
If you were creating a mail message, it might be in the drafts folder of the e-mail program.
What evidence do you have the computer restarted itself?    Did the Apple logo come up?

  • What camera to buy for taking close pictures of coins in mint state condition????

    hi
what camera to buy for taking close pictures of coins in mint state condition????uncirculated coins ??

The camera is not so much of an issue here as making sure that you get the right glass(lens) .
Both Nikon and Canon have specialty lenses to allow Macro (1:1 or lifesize or greater magnification) images to be made.
I would also recommend that you get a good tripod and focusing rails to mount your camera on as most macro photography is best done using manual focus and moving the camera.  This is due to the fact that macro lenses have a very shallow depth of field.
If you don't want to go to this extreme, then at least get a small sturdy tripod and always use a remote shutter release.
All of this is related to DSLR's.
If you want to go the PnS route, then look for one that emphasizes its macro capability and again, use a tripod.  Again, the lens is the most important item here.
Actually, no - lens is not the most important - coins are highly reflective and as a result VERY difficult to light properly - the lighting equipment is going to be the most important.
Lens will be second most important - you can probably do fine for coin photography with one of the common pseudo-macro lenses that only do 1:2 and not 1:1.  However a true 1:1 macro lens will give you the most flexibility.
Since the lighting equipment is the most important, the key here is going to be that the camera has support for an external flash.  This is guaranteed for an SLR but rare in P&S cameras.

  • What Camera are you using?

    Hi,
What camera are you using for you shot?Let share about the Semi Pro cam together: Fix Lens with manual Focus and Zoom,Affortable Price...

Well, before I got my Digital Rebel XT I dreamed of the Powershot S2 IS. Then the S3 came out...but I was hookoed on my Rebel XT. I hear the S5 is a monster...
Now, my 20D is probably more prosumer. I wouldn't call it a pro camera, although it is legendary for it's use on the sports areana and weddings by pros. For my money, any camera with a pop-up flash and automatic modes is not a pro camera. Having said that, I hope no one starts throwing eggs and tomatoes!

  • Definitive answer: WHAT CAMERA IS COMPATIBLE WITH iMOVIE?

This seems to be the most elusive answer I have ever searched for concerning Apple products. There seems to be no straight answer anywhere on the internet.
I have iMovie 6.0.3. I want to get my son a decent, affordable ($300-400) camcorder that is compatible with this program. I know that it needs to have a firewire connection. But this seems to be impossible to find.
I have been referred to a master list that is completely outdated. I've been referred to cameras that are NOT firewire compatible. It seems like this should be a really simple question to answer, but so far, I have had no luck, and Christmas is a month away.
We have a little cheap Canon still camera that has a video feature. THAT WORKS! But the image quality is terrible. I'm looking for a camcorder with a decent image quality that can download to iMovie.
    DOES ANYONE KNOW?
(I'm starting to think such cameras do not exist short of the 3K pro cameras.)
If anyone can help me, THANK YOU! Happy Thanksgiving.

    G'day,
I've been ables to edit from a number of different formats including MPEG2 (DVD),
but any file format other than .dv needs to be converted to a .dv file first before importing to iMovie HD 6 (iMovie 7 is another animal altogether) To convert files use MPEG Streamclip (free) plus the Apple MPEG2 playback add-on (around US$25 from Apple) This proces takes a little longer but it allows the use of almost all, if not all, handycams on the market. It also has the added advantage of allowing the re-editing of existing DVDs when the original iMovie project has long gone. It appears that magnetic tape as a recording medium has a very limited future in almost any form (D8, MiniDV, MicroDV etc) and therefore direct streaming into iMovie up to V6 also has a very limited future. Since this is the only medium which allows direct streaming of .dv files, then future use of imovie up to V6 will be limited to what you are able to convert to .dv files from my limited analysis.
