What can be done to minimize redeploy times during incremental development?
If you are in the incremental development phase of the project, you can try and deploy to the Domain Administration Server (DAS), which is denoted by the standalone instance named "server". The DAS is a fully functional J2EE instance and is used as the default target when a target isn't specified during deployment.
The 8.1 SE/EE version of the SJSAppServer is packaged as an Enterprise quality product. By default the communication to & between the appserver components utilize Transport Layer Security (TLS). If a developer deploys a large Enterprise Archive (EAR) to an appserver instance other than the DAS, the instance's repository needs to be updated and reconciled. This process is referred to as Synchronization in the appserver's documentation, more information is located at http://docs.sun.com/source/819-0215/nodeagent.html#wp1021415. To minimize the time needed to synchronize the instance, the application can be deployed to the DAS for intense interactive development. Once interactive development tapers off, the application's targets can be altered to point to the remote instance(s) for integrated testing.
To get the fastest possible developer experience, you should use NetBeans (4.1 or later) to deploy to the DAS. Netbeans has implemented numerous optimizations that significantly shorten application deployment times. You can get your free copy of NetBeans at http://www.netbeans.org.
Netbeans deploying to the DAS is the method I use and it speeds up cyclical development immensely. Netbeans also facilitates most of the admin functions that are available through the admin gui, including viewing the logs as part of the Netbeans environment.

We all know that Lightroom loads a rough very of the photo before loading the full detailed version. Is there anyway to speed that up? I've tried leaving Lightroom running to pre-load all the photos in my film strip, but it only seems to do final loading when you click on the photo.

I've left LR run overnight and I still come across photos that were imported over a month ago (i'm just getting around to going through a mass import) and they still require the "loading step".

What can be done to minimize the grotesque Edge Enhancement?!
Hello everyone. I have been experimenting all week long with exporting projects from CS5 Premiere Pro (all eithe DSLR HD or 1080p scanned from film) and then burning DVD's in Encore. I'm trying to use the highst bit rates posible and multiple passes in encoding.
Somwehere along the way Edge Enhancement is being added. It is grotesque. When I play back the DVD's on my 65 inch TV they look terrible. EE everywhere (it is not added by the TV. I disabled EE in the service menu. It's completely shut off).
What can be done to minimize this? I'd appreciate some pointers.Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing? I assume you can see it on computer playback as well.
How are you transcoding? In Encore, or from Premiere/AME? Automatic? (in Encore only), or selectihng settings? If the latter, what are they?
Some users believe that CS5 is doing an okay job of downrezing for DVD. Others believe it is better to do it from Premiere/AME. In answering the above, you'll probably answer that issue as well. -
Every time I try to upload a video to youtube or a pictures to a blog service, such as tumblr, I am unable to do so with the default uploading options (usually something that allows multiple uploads, etc). Instead, I can upload these media using their "basic upload" functions. Why and what can be done?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Firefox has apparently downloaded an update which asks me if i want to install every time I open it, but every time i click yes it fails saying I have another firefox open but I don't!! no attempts to install the update have worked, i've tried a few. Since upgrading to OS X Mavericks I have not been able to work on any MS Word tracked changes documents (works fine if no tracked changes or comments in the doc). Every time upon opening such a word file with tr.changes the word processor closes / crashes.
What can be done in this case?I just discovered that by turning off in tracked changes balloons in Word preferences prevents the software from crashing, but from then on I need to use only the review pane.

I've got to agree with Allan. It sounds like the hard drive is corrupt at least. It's possible it might be physically failing. Without backups, it's possible your data is already gone. You need a professional to help you.
If you do not have an Apple Store near you or simply don't have the time to spare, there are some things you can try, but you must understand that it's possible these things could make the chances of recovering your data worse than they already are. Perform the instructions to follow at your own risk!
First, you can try repairing your hard drive with Disk Utility. If that works, see if you can start up the machine. If you can, the very first thing you need to do is back up any data you don't want to lose. You may still need to take other steps, as your system may be damaged as well, but getting the data is the important part.
If Disk Utility cannot repair the problems, you can try DiskWarrior. It can repair problems that Disk Utility cannot. However, it also increases the risk of destroying your data if it fails. If it works and you can start up the machine, do the same as I advised for following success with Disk Utility.
If repairs (with either) were successful, but the machine still won't start up, you can try reinstalling the system. Hold down command-R at startup and then just install right on top of the existing system. If all goes well, you'll be able to start up afterwards and can get your data backed up. If all goes badly, it'll further decrease the chances of getting your data back.
If neither can repair the damage, you're in bad shape. You will need a professional to help you, unless you are willing to lose all your data. -

White screen of death with some text, what can be done?
Anybody knows what can be the reason for this particular screen? What can be done?
I bought over eBay, and discovered that the logicboard was changed...
Tried few times to restore, but same results.. sometimes the screen becomes completely red.
The display works fine, from time to time it starts correctly and I can activate the phone and play around.
I tried DFU, but I get the error 4013 in iTunes during the restore, then it switches to recovery mode and a further restore gets interrupted.
Is there any deeper way to completely wipe phone's firmware, to make sure there is absolutely no software issue?
Or should I bring it to the Genius bar?

Photos recently changed from sequential numbering to date/timestamp. When I import into apps for editing they are out of order. What can be done to change back to sequential numbering instead of date/timestamp?
The date information is taken from the camera which writes it to the file. This needs to be set to the correct date and time in the camera itself.
The order the images are shown in the Library mode is set by clicking on the sort button in the tool bar, which if not showing can be activated from view, tool bar. There are different sort orders that can be applied including sorting by file name. You can also sort by dragging the images to the order you wish them to appear in by selecting user order. -

sizes and cache file sizes that may relate to a
reported problem.

We have been working on a TIBCO/Portal Builder customer
issue that does not seem to have guidance in end
user documentation. This is related to a significant
increase in LDAP and cache file sizes (which at this
point do NOT seem to affect any performance). Is this
something that you are aware of from your QA/performance
tests? The problem seems to have suddenly cropped
up and we are attempting to isolate the triggerring event.
We started with the possibility that it is
a. Solaris Platform issue
OR
b. LDAP issue
We have done several experiments to isolate specific
issues as described below. We have researched
Sun/iPlanet web site and technical sites on the net.
Currently, we believe that the LDAP database size is increasing
because the Portal has been configured with pages
that have a lot of "Personalized" panes. Users are visiting
these pages, and getting automatically subscribed to these
panes, which add corresponding entries in the LDAP server.
Please find below the listing of all the files (from LDAP
DB directory) which are growing very fast. Kindly advise what can be
done so that these files do not eat up all the disk space.

Tibco SupportThis may be perfectly normal behavior for the LDAP server. If some application is adding a lot of data to the server, the database will necessarily grow. You can look at the access log to find out the IP address of the client, the BIND dn of the client, and the operations from that client. Perhaps this will help you narrow down the culprit.

What can be done to make Bridige recogonize recently contructed folders that were made in Microsoft Explorer?
I quit and restart both Bridge and PS without success. I don not wish to reboot each time this happens.There's something weird happening on your computer. Bridge should constantly check the file system for changes, and new folders should appear quite soon after they are created. This suggests to me that either Bridge is broken on your computer, or the file system is misbehaving.
A quick fix for Bridge would be to update it to the latest version and/or reset preferences using Ctrl-click Bridge icon. That cures quite a lot of ills.
I have seen Windows Explorer behave strangely at times, when for example icons do not show up on the desktop until you refresh with F5. I have never found an explanation for this. However, if you are only seeing this behaviour in Bridge, then you can discount this.
The other thing which springs to mind is Bridge's problem with broken drives. Bridge builds a list of file system locations which it checks at regular intervals. If one of those locations has a problem, there is a knock-on effect. Maybe Bridge has stopped polling your folders for this reason.
I use a program called Sysinternals 'Process Monitor', which is now owned by Microsoft. It's a bit of a hacker's tool, and one of its jobs is to monitor file system activity by application. If you start it up and narrow activity down to File System and Bridge, you can see what Bridge is doing in real time. You should see it accessing a group of different locations every few seconds. Maybe one of those locations is very slow or inaccessible, and you might see it hang there.
If all that sounds a bit too technical, just have a look at the drives listed in "My Computer" and check they all work properly/promply. -
Brushes in Photoshop CS6 stop working, what can be done?
Seems every day I am resetting my brushes in PS CS6 by shutting down the program and restarting it while holding the ctrl+alt+shift keys.
I work at a school so we are networked and I have a thoery that it may be a user profile setting for when the user logs onto the network only because this doesn't happen on my personal computer which has no network to log onto.
Sometimes I have to reset the brushes several times to get it working. And even after I do that after a few hours I may need to do it again, if the program was left on. My computer is hard wired to the network so it's not a wireless issue.
Anybody else having these issues? And what can be done about it?Nothing. The iTunes Match service does not respect the checked/unchecked state of a song. ALL music is scanned and made available in the cloud.

Honestly I don't know if it's a Lion or MS problem eihter. One thing you might want to do is restart the computer while holding down the Option key then select the Restore Volume and run Disk Utility and repair the Disk Permissions on the HD. Run DP at least 2x. -
