What can I do if I can't get the update page uploaded on the App Store
I have shut the iPad all the way down and I don't know what else to do. PLEASE HELP.
The update server is down; try this temporary workaround
App Store>Purchased>Select "All"
Note: Look out for apps that have the word "Update"

I managed to solve my problem without spending 4 hours going to Apple Store.
I don't know why, but Yosemite somehow decided to restrict permissions literally to itself.
1) you need to enable seeing hidden files - paste this in terminal "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES"
2) find the folder "private" and select "get info"
3) give to user "wheel" (this is OS X internal or root "admin") permission to "read and write" this folder and all its contents. I also added user "admin" and gave permissions to "read and write" all the same as to "wheel", just in case.
4) repair permissions, restart your computer and reset PRAM
5) go to App Store and try to update your system.
6) if all worked fine, don't forget to paste in terminal "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles NO" to hide all hidden files.

I watched the video on Firefox 4, then restarted computer to let the changes taking effect as the update stated. When the computer started again there was no changes and I can't find it in the downloads or file changes as to what edition of firefox I know have.
Do you have an orange Firefox button in the upper left, or do you have the customary menu bar (File, Edit, View, etc.)?
Either way, you can check your current Firefox version using Help > About Firefox.
To switch from having a menu bar to having the orange button, right-click in a blank area after Help and uncheck Menu Bar. Then, to display the menu bar temporarily, you can tap the Alt key or press the F10 key.
Regarding the start page, there must be something just a little bit custom about the address. Otherwise, you would have been changed to '''about:home''' which is the new start page. -

Well, the support document that you used to link here talks about restore error codes. Did you find the error code you received on that sheet? Do you have the latest version of iTunes loaded (v10.7) on the computer?

Iphoto can’t be unstalled on “Macintosh HD” because OS X version 10.8.2 or later is required. You can update OS X from the Updates page of the App Store. Why is this happening I have a OS X 10.8.1 (12B19) already installed but he update will not install, as a matter of a fact the update does not even come up in teh appstore. I recently purchased the MacBookPro in May 2012, and updated with the new OS X came out. I am new to MAC but enjoying it. What do I need ot do. But I cant update to that version. Tried the App Store, but it says this computer is not compatible with that OS (really). You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
In the Finder, press the key combination command-F to open a search window, or select

A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test. -

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss) -

I used the combo updater, http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1581, that works OK. Update iPhoto after using the combo updater.
