What can I do to find my answers for my security questions other than calling apple support

When I first signed up for apple, I thought it was the next step after failing to write a password for a lot of time, but I never knew we were suppose to use them the first time you purchase something. What can I do without calling apple support?

I forgot my security question and cannot call Apple Support to change it, because I am outside the country and the only support number for that is an 1-800 number. What should I do?

  • What can I do if a reset email for my security questions will not send?

I'm trying to purchase a song in iTunes and it asks me for the answers to my sercurity question, which I've forgottten as my account was set up a while ago. When I press the link to send the reset details for my security questions, to my email address it comes up with a page saying email sent, check your inbox. I check my inbox and nothing shows up. However, when I make changes to my acount, e.g. change my house address, it will send that email and I will recieve it. What can I do?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of doing so include going to support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.
Setting up a rescue email requires correctly answering two of the questions.

  • I forgot my security questions. Is there any thing else I can do other than call Apple Support?

Only if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you do then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset
Use the link/number for your country on this page to contact them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312

Click here and search the article for '2 out of 3' without the quotes; in the case of forgotten answers, this generally involves either a message being sent to your rescue email address or contacting the iTunes Store staff directly.

  • HT5312 I forgot the answers for my security questions, now I can't get into my AppleID. All because my rescue email address has been deactivated due to inactivity. Now what?

    Here is some bad luck.
I forgot the answers for my security questions. I want to buy an app in the app store but Apple keeps asking me these questions I can't remember the answers to. All because my rescue email address has been deactivated due to inactivity. Now what?
I tried to create my old email address again, but funny enough it told me that specific email address was already taken....

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

I don't think anyone can tell you the answers to your security questions.
The best thing is if you setup a rescue email address, then you can reset the questions and answers yourself.
If not, you will need to contact iTunes Store Support for help.
