What can I do to trace my stolen iPod touch. I have started trace through iCloud by my iPod is not linked to the Internet yet.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing

Hi, I'm new in here, I'm from Italy.
I know there are no possiblities for me to find my now-probably-stolen iPod touch 4, but I'd like to try it all to trace it. Is there a method or something to know WHERE my Apple device can be, now? I've tried "Find my iPod" yet, so I mean a more effective method, even if I'd have to bother the police or whoever.. Because it's astonishing and disheartening that in an era when every possible thing is made by machines and computers, a person cannot find an instrument to be given back his/her ill-gotten gains.

No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or conbtinue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.

Can you trace a stolen Ipod touch?
My Ipod was stolen yesterday as well as my sister's and she had the Find My Iphone App and was able to trace hers to an adress, am I able to trace it WITHOUT that app?
Not unless you set yours up on Find My Phone before it was stolen.

I have my iPod touch since Christmas 2010. I was using it laast night and it went dead. I thought it must be the battery (even though I didn't get a waring like usual when the battery is about to loose power). I put it on the docking station to charge and nothing was happening. I connected it to my PC and still nothing is happening. Does anyone know what I can do???

I've had my ipod for about a week and off and on throughout the day the touch screen is unresponsive. I've restarted it several times and it does no good. Help!
Just the standard fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

No, but if you have activated Find my Iphone/ipod on it then you could have a small chance of locating it if it is around alot of wifi hot spots.

Hi, just wonder anyone can help. i lost my ipad few weeks ago (already reported to police in UK but they arent helpful), and when i logged in to my apple account, i found another person email added to my apple account (but has not been verified). what can i do to trace ? my ipad hasnt been registered with apple before i lost it, can i registered now (as i still have the package) and then supply the serial no. to apple so they can block that ipad??
i am based in london, but seems now the apple account based in USA.. very strange.

thanksThe only tracking feature Apple offers is the one tied to your iCloud account (https://www.apple.com/icloud/features/find-my-iphone.html). If you did not have an iCloud account set up on the iPad, or did not have the "find my iPad" setting enabled under that account's settings, then you cannot track it remotely.
There is nothing you can do but hope the police do something, or you find it yourself. Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen property.

However, I hope you IMMEDIATELY changed your AppleID password when you noticed the added email - the only way someone could do that is if they know both your AppleID primary email address AND your current password. -

You do not need iOS 5. Prior to iOS 5/iCloud you could set up the FIndMyiPod feature through Settings>Mail>MobileMe. If that was done then if wifi is on and connected you can go to go to iCloud, sign in, and go to FindMyiPhone. It the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- Otherwise, ther is nothing special you can do.
- Report to police and change the passwords fro all accounts used on the iPod.
- Apple will not help. It can't be blocked. Someone just has to restore the iPod and use it

I bought my last iPod Touch at the Bakersfield, California Valley Plaza Mall Target store, but a thief stole it from me at the Bakersfield, California Truxtun-and-S Kern County Beale Memorial Public Library when I, while walking around the second floor for some exercise, had kept it on one of the patron second-floor desks still attached to my Motion Computing Tablet PC during downloading an OS update. The last post I had added to that same iPod Touch was a video of the use of a Spencer ******** sleeve with some lubrication they don't sell in their store. Yet, that video got stuck in transit in a holding cell while a new iOS update began. If that thief ever turns on my iPod Touch, my PC will notify me of that pod's whereabouts immediately. Why did that iOS update occur right at that moment when that same ******** video was to be either accepted or rejected as too obscene? My face is not in the video, which, in spite of its sexual content, might actually be educational and perhaps also business savvy. I made and posted the video because I wanted to convey my need for a real person to make love to, certainly not an object at all. The ******** sleeve makes my ***** look ridiculously like Alice in Wonderland dressed in her rings as depicted in some of the original illustrations in that fictional title's original book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll. Why did those spies get really calm and quiet all of a sudden?! Can someone please find my stolen iPod Touch for me? If that thief turns that pod on, I might get that Target refund card, which I might use to buy another iPod Touch because I love its Photoshop Express' photo-editing and graphic-design features. If I ever get another iPod Touch, however, I won't take it to the library or the bus stop, where I won't stand around using the Internet. No one can find it for you. If you did not set up Find My Phone, then it cannot be found.

At the moment I can use my apple Id on my iPod touch to connect to iCloud and IMessage and FaceTime but it doesn't work on App Store & iTunes just on iPod Face to an error: can not connect to iTunes Store.
