What can i run to see if my machine is a lemon?

i'm looking at replacing more of the keys on my 2009/2010 MacbookPro and to be honest i have not been happy with this machine at all.
the battery life is borderline atrocious. if i have parallels running in the background i get about an hour and if nothing is running at all and the machine is just sitting there i get 3 hours with it doing nothing.
the machine (and the power pack) get alarmingly hot at times, the fan gets loud enough for me to have to jump around and quickly shut down software because it sounds like it wants to explode or something.
also, i sometimes will go out for a ride and when i come back the fan is cranking away and it makes me concerned that something has been affected in some way for running like this. actually, to be totally honest in the last year or so i have tried to shut the case before i go out because i've been concerned about a fire or something.
also, i have a dock icons that will move somewhere random when i try and put them somewhere (app is closed) and instead of going where i put them they move to somewhere totally random.
finally, my bookmark sync with mobileme is constantly getting messed up and i have to reset it roughly once every three or four months.
i assume the bookmark is not related to the computer itself but this does not seem to me like it is normal. is there any way for me to check this on my end instead of relying on the mac genius bar?

the keys seem to be out of my control. also, the dock icon issue has been brought up four times and no one wants to deal with it. granted, i haven't brought it in on simply that one issue but i guess i will. also, the mobileme bookmark sync gets reset every three to four month and every six to eight months i do this (after finally getting someone that understands what is going on) via applecare support. it /always/ comes back.
i run parallels but beyond that i am not seeing why the excessive heat and the excessive fan noise and the extremely poor battery life (mind you my 3 hour test was with /no/ parallels running) should be acceptable on a computer such as this.
can i ask you what AASP is and can i ask you specifically what i should be taking a look at when they run diagnostics on it?

Additionally, in the development center we use a unix version of Labview and in the testcenter a Windows version.

You can Save with Option to save VIs as version 5.
Unless your VIs deal with system files in UNIX or Windows (ie. Registry...)
then you have to develop your VI specificly on that OS, since UNIX and
Windows have different ways to deal with system files. Mostly, LabVIEW is OS
independent. I used to have VIs developed from LabVIEW v.3 on UNIX, I can
still open these files from LV v.4 on Windows. Now I can still work with
these VIs on LV 6 on Windows.

What can it run? (Storm 9530)

Forgive my lack of knowledge, I am new to this....
What sorts of d/l-able applications can actually run on this phone?
I searched all kinds of things on the web, and d/l'd some ".jar" file based applications from one site that said they worked on the BB Storm 9350...but I don't seem to understand how to install them....
I tried drag/dropping them onto the memory card (where the PC shows them as copying) but then there is nothing to install or set up on the BB....and when I re-connect the device to the PC and look at the mem card again, the are no longer there....
DO these types of apps even work on the 9530? If so....how is one supposed to d/l and install them properly?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
The best way (IMO) to install apps to the Storm (or any BB, for that matter) is via the Storm web browser or the BB App Center add-on application. If you use the browser and click the vendor's install link, the Storm will automatically recognize it and install it...no independent downloading, no copying to the device (which, btw, does not usually work).
The app-center (from RIM) has a host of apps...the App Center installs on the Storm and, again just on the Storm, lets you browse, select, and install apps.
Some things can indeed be installed from your PC...but that means installing the DM software (it came on a CD with your Storm) and using it to install...I, personally, have never had a need to do any install that way. (Yet)
There are lots of apps compatible with the Storm...I'd suggest getting the App Center and starting there.

How can I run a application on a machine without JDK installed?

I'm new to java,I want to know if there's a way to run a application on a machine without JDK installed, I noticed that some server application such as Domino have CORBA applications running in background,how can I set up such environment without JDK installed?

I believe there are two basic ways you could go about this.
1) Install the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) on the machine in question.
2) Use JSP to make a server side app that interacts via browser on the local machine.

one time, according to my knowledge, we can run multiple domains on one JVM, by

I don't know about commands but in your application/utilities folder there is an application called Network Utility that can scan your ports. I don't have any real experience with it but if it seems confusing try accessing the help files for the utility in the help menu and maybe that will ease the confusion.

VPN and what can I expect to see?

When I establish a VPN connection to a Snow Leopard Server will I be able to see or use applications from other servers on the same network?
Or do I only get to use what is on the Server I connected to?

The Airport and Time Capsule are good home routers, and good WiFi devices.
They're also configurable as good access points, which is handy if you're running multiple WiFi devices to get coverage in a larger area.
The devices are not particularly capable firewalls for use with servers; that's not their target market.
Specific device suggestions? I've worked with various stuff over the years, and I generally end up either following the client's gear preferences, or running some research based on the bandwidth and expectations and features for the installation. And the budget; for a bigger budget, you can often get better features or easier integration. And the products and offerings and features change regularly in this market; each time I do this, I find different gear.
Here's the general path...
There are commercial and open-source options available.
The open-source packages can generally convert a two-controller spare PC into a firewall, and most (all?) can operate with a selection of embedded x86 boxes.
In general, I look for support of VPN (L2TP and PPTP minimally, other protocols if and as available), look for explicit listings of Linux and Mac OS X details in the manuals (not because you're going to necessarily use Linux or any particular operating system here, but because the vendor went to the effort to test with a variety of platforms), and I look for a vender that does not require downloading a VPN client, for NAT, reasonably programmable port-forwarding, and possibly (as additional features, or as specific requirements) DMZ, RADIUS, anti-malware and anti-spam mechanisms.
Oh, and download and read the product manual before you buy the box. See if it makes any sense. (I've found this step invaluable for reducing the numbers of candidate boxes I need to evaluate.)

If a site is written using flash then unless they've written a non-flash version, no. Apps such as Skyfire claim to support flash, but their reviews are mixed. Also a number of websites (especially news sites) have their own apps in the App Store so you could check if they've got an app.

How can I run aqua applications on remote machine

Hi, I would like to know how to run an aqua application on a remote mac, but display the result on the local machine. I can easily do that for X applications under Unix through ssh, but I don't know what is the equivalent for aqua. Since the remote machine is much faster than my local one, I don't want to just mont the remote disk, since in this way I'll be running on my slow local resources.

To the best of my knowledge, Screen Sharing is your only option.
Screen Sharing is Apple's dressed up VNC. When going Mac to Mac it is rather good. When mixing 3rd party VNC clients or servers with Apple's Screen Sharing components, you performance may vary.
