What can I use to see sports on itv? Is there a substitute to Adobe Flash player?

I am unable to watch ITV Sports because it will not allow Adobe Flash player. Is there an alternative player?

If a site is written using flash then unless they've written a non-flash version, no. Apps such as Skyfire claim to support flash, but their reviews are mixed. Also a number of websites (especially news sites) have their own apps in the App Store so you could check if they've got an app.

  • Can I use 640 x 360 (16:9 ratio) FLVs in CP 5 with Flash Player 9

    Can I use 640 x 360 (16:9 ratio) FLVs in CP 5 with Flash Player 9 (I can't test now, because I am using FP 10)
I think my client was given some bad information and I'm trying to clarify the correct facts.
I am working on a Captivate 5 project that uses a lot of FLV clips. These were prepared by someone else. The original video was edited to HDV format 1440 x 1080 (16:9)
Someone (a third party Adobe Sales Vendor) recommended to the video producer that in order to display in an optimal way in Captivate, that the FLVs should be transcoded to 640 x 480 (4:3) because of compatibility with "older Flash Player and bandwidth" considerations. However, that is not the case. Our audience can live with Flash Player 9+ and has reasonably good broadband.
The FLV clips are never shown full screen, but surrounded by typical text captions and images within a Captivate slide. So, I don't see why the video would not be perfectly fine at 16:9 (640 x 360.)
Further, the FLV (using Slide Video) would be resized to 400 x 300 to fit into the context of the surrounding captions on the slide.
So there some technical reason why I could not use 16:9 ratio at 640 x 360 having to do with older versions of the Flash Player?
    Thanks as always.

Its recommended not to resize the FLV video inside Captivate. Resizing can lead to video quality loss and performance drop in flash player.
    regards,
    Mukul

  • What is a good free substitute for Adobe Flash Player? Apple will not download this but I need it for several things I want to do?

What is a good "free" substitute for Adobe Flash Player? I need this for photos to be developed.

You cannot substitute another app for Flash because it is proprietary technology. Apple is adamant about keeping Flash out of their phones and tablets, hence why you will not find it in the App Store. If you want to be able to use Flash on-the-go, consider purchasing an Android device.
Doesn't matter at this point.  Android 4.0.3 is the last OS he'll have if he wants flash.  Adobe has already stopped development for their mobile flash player.

  • What's the best way to update my Mac with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player?

I've been getting prompts whenever I look at certain websites to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.  I'm skeptical as to responding to those prompts.  What is the best way to update my Mac Pro with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player?

You might also want to consider uninstalling Adobe Flash... I currently don't have it installed and haven't needed to install it.  Most websites are now coded in HTML 5 so that the iOS devices can actually visit them.  I can still watch YouTube videos et al.  About the only thing I can't do is play Flash games... but they're a resource hog anyways.
Try going without for a day or two and see just how many sites you visit no longer require it.  A lot of people keep it installed out of habit, not out of necessity.  If you have Flash installed, visit a site and it's out of date, it will tell you to update your Flash.  What it won't do is tell you is that had Flash not been installed, it would have used the HTML 5 code instead.  Think about it... if an iOS device can't run Flash at all... it can't visit this site if it were written only to use Flash.  What site would eliminate such a huge portion of their market base?  You'd be surprised at how many sites use HTML 5.  Uninstall Flash and see for yourself.

  • Is there an alternative for adobe flash player that I can get on iPhone

I can't use adobe flash player in safari is there anything I can use that will work the same

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • Can anyone help me with Adobe Flash Player?

I can't install/run this new Adobe Flash Player with my OS and it's drivin' me nuts!

I clicked on the link again http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and under Platform there's Windows, next to that is Browser with a line of text that starts out with Internet Explorer typed in as a link and say further (and other browsers that support Internet Explorer ActiveX controls and plug-ins). Then under Player version, 11.1.102.55. I think that I'm supposed to click on the highlighted link 'Internet Explorer' to change it from the Platform being Macintosh - OS. Ya think?
Above that there are two paragraphs:
Adobe Flash Player is the standard for delivering high-impact, rich Web content. Designs, animation, and application user interfaces are deployed immediately across all browsers and platforms, attracting and engaging users with a rich Web experience.
The table below contains the latest Flash Player version information. Adobe recommends that all Flash Player users upgrade to the most recent version of the player through the Player Download Center to take advantage of security updates. For detailed system requirements (e.g. browser, operating system, and hardware), see Tech specs.
Way to many options for me to decide what to do next.

  • My Adobe Flash Player no longer runs automatically...can anyone help ?

My Flash Player refuses to run automatically, can anyone help? I'm tired of clicking OK each time I need it as I browse. This only started 2 weeks ago. Before that there were no problems so, I'm embarrassed to say that I must have somehow caused this myself. So far, I've gone to my "plugins" page and made sure everything is set as "enabled". I've gone to my Control Panel >Flash Player, but I don't see any changes I could make their that might help.  I'm not sure what else to do. I have Win XP Home, broswer is Google Chrome, Adobe flash player version 11.6.602.180 installed. I hope someone can help.
The only extension I have enabled is Ad Block.

I think I was just about to send you email about this.  Can you try the following in Chrome:
    1. Type "about:settings" in the address bar
    2. Click the "Show advanced settings..." link at the bottom
    3. Click the "Content settings..." button
    4. Scroll down a bit in the dialog that appears and verify that "Run automatically (recommended)" is selected in the Plug-ins section
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • What Adobe Flash Player Do I Download to the iPhone?

When I go to certain websites using safari on my iPhone, it directs me to download the Adobe Flash Player. There are two options for Mac OS X. I can either use Option 1: Intel Based Macs or Option 2: PowerPc Based Macs. Is this even right? Do I need a flash player? Is Mac OS X the same as Safari. I'm not familiar with Apple/Macs operating systems. Please enlighted me! Thanks.

  • How can I get Adobe Flash Player to install on my computer

I just sent in a question regarding installing Adobe Flash Player on my computer.   In fact, I did it twice.  I do not understand how this discussion section works?

Thanks so much for your answer to my first question.
I have Windows 7 and use the Microsoft Internet Explorer.
I do not have any version of Adobe Flash Player on my computer.  I recently received a message from Kaspersky Security that there was a problem with my Adobe Flash Player.  I then uninstalled the Flash Player that was on my computer.  I don't know what version that was.
Now, I am trying to download another version of Adobe Flash Player on my computer.   When I hit the install  prompt, I am unable to hit run as a pop-up message comes across the bottom of my screen which asks me if I want to open or save.   When trying either of these options, I get an error message that says the attempt has failed.
I tried to work through the help section on Adobe.com today.  I tried to go into tools and change the settings it suggested.  This also failed.
Now, I don't know where to go from there?
