What can't I reconnect to my network?
Prior 10.5.3 everything worked fine. I have made no changes to my systems whatsoever.
When I upgraded to 10.5.3 my MBA will not automatically re-connect to my APE after sleep unless I did it manually or turned BT off.
10.5.4 did not fix it either.
However, I am on a business trip to Orlando and here I am in the hotel reception. I am logged into their wifi network (no password needed) and after sleep the Air connects time, and time again.
Why is it working here but not at home when I am trying to connect Apple to Apple?
Like I said on the first line of this topic, I have changed nothing and it worked prior to 10.5.3 and it's associated APE upgrade.
Had the exact same reconnection problems after updating my iMac G5 20in from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3, (although I hadn't noticed that it was Bluetooth related).
Is your "APE" (AirPort Extreme?) firmware up to date ?
Updating my DLink DI-624 to the latest firmware fixed it seemingly once and for all.
Updating the firmware on a borrowed DLink DIR-615 (with which I had experienced the exact same reconnection problems) also fixed it.
This could explain why it is working at your hotel and not at home.
Subsequent updating to 10.5.4 kept reconnection working flawlessly.

What can I do to stop high network usage when a Samba share is mounted?
Ok, so i've done a lot of googling on this, but i've not really found any conclusive answers.
Basically, when I mount a samba share from another machine, Lion goes crazy. I can see from iStat menus that network (wireless) usage varies wildly from 300KB/s, right up to 6/7 MB/s, but my cpu usage doesn't spike at all. When this is happening the laptop is almost unusable, clicking something can take 30 seconds for a response. I'm presuming that this is something to do with Spotlight trying to index the share, but as it's several terabytes in size, it never completes. I've left the laptop on overnight in the hope that whatever process is causing this would finish, but to no avail. I've also placed the share in the Privacy tab in Spotlight's preferences, and used mdutil -i to stop it accessing the volume, but with no luck.
Can anyone help? It's driving me nuts and it means i can't access my files without having to ftp in instead.
I'm running 10.7.3Unfortunately, your description of the problem and the placement of both your main and AirPort Express routers does lend itself to believe the problem is most likely Wi-Fi interference. If it isn't the microwave or portable phones, it could be obstacles like walls between the routers that may be preventing the stream from consistently reaching the Express.
In your configuration, the stream will first travel to the main router, and then, from the main router to the AirPort Express. If, for example, you started the stream in the same room as the Express, that stream would have to travel across several rooms at least twice. -
My MBA indicates my connection is timing out. My wifi on other laptops work in the house. Diagnostics indicate wifi settings failed, network settings failed, ISP failed, Internet failed, and server failed. What can I do?
Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Some of these steps are only possible if you have control over the wireless router.
Step 1
Turn Wi-Fi off and back on.
Step 2
Restart the router and the computer. Many problems are solved that way.
Step 3
Change the name of the wireless network, if applicable, to eliminate any characters other than letters and digits. You do that on your router via its web page, if it's not an Apple device, or via AirPort Utility, if it is an Apple device.
Step 4
Run the Network Diagnostics assistant.
Step 5
In OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and fix the issues listed in the Summary, if any.
Step 6
Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.

Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
Step 9
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC). -
Every time that I try to download my music from I tunes an error message comes up it says, ( err = 450) Make sure that your network connetion is active and try again. What can I do to fix this problem, I have tried everthing that I-tunes has told me but with no luck. Thanks
Try disabling your parental controls. Does that help with the 450?

Those are the instructions for your computer's iTunes (i.e. using the Store menu at the top of your computer's iTunes and selecting 'View My Account' on it). If you are doing it on your iPad then are you following the instructions for iOS devices :
To unhide your purchases
Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store on your device.
Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
If you're not already signed in, tap Sign In.
Tap your Apple ID name, then tap View Account.
Scroll down on the Account pane, and tap Hidden Purchases.
Locate the item you would like to unhide then tap the Unhide button. -
My iPhone 5 isn't connecting to the cellular network. Always "Searching...". What can I do?
It's a 32GB, black iPhone 5, not even a month old! What's going on! It worked fine for a few weeks but now all it does is either "Searching..." or "No service". I'm getting tired of this. It's a PHONE, firstly, right?
I've done a full reset (three times), gotten a new SIM card, reset the network setting (four or five times), rebooted the phone God knows how many times, received a refurbished set from Apple, talked to my carrier, EVERYTHING. The reset network settings worked pretty well for a few days but now I'm back to where I started! What can I do???Everything on my device that requires an internet connection works, execpt iMessage. I get an allownace of 500mb a month although i check regulary and never run over that. I have had iMessage turned off since i posted this question and have just turned it on tonight and still the same problem. My Mobile Data button is on under settings, and everything is in working order, it only seems to be iMessage and Facetime that only work on Wi-Fi, not my 3G-mobile data. I amn't to bothered about my Facetime, just my iMessage. Is it worth visiting my network providers store?

My iphone 4s cannot join a public unsecured network, but my ipad and macbook can with no problems. I have reset the network settings on the iphone twice. Both times that fixed the problem but only for a few minutes, then I get the "cannot join network" message again. Please help! What can I do?

Can I use this DIR-635 to extend the WiFi network of the "Belgacom" WiFi?
To answer this question correctly, a user would need to have a DIR-635 router connected by Ethernet to a Belgacom router.
If you think about it, the chances of another user who has these two same devices configured this way and also being on an Apple support forum to see your post are about zero.
The following might work, but you will not know until you try.
Configure the DIR-635 to provide a wireless network that uses the exact same wireless network name, exact same wireless security and exact same password as the Belgacom wireless router. Make sure that the DIR-635 is configured in Bridge Mode.
Can I purchase and set-up an Apple Airport Express or Apple Airport Extreme on my level 1 (the ethernet cable running from level 2 to level 1 could plug-into either of those)
The AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme would need to be configured exactly the same way as mentioned above.
(What is the difference in the 2 -- one is about twice the price of the other…)

My Ipad2 suddenly will not print to my hp photosmart 5510 printer. Both are on same network. Both have most current operating systems and updatees. I tried everything and can not get to work. It was fine two days ago and nothing has changed. What can I do to print again?

There is no way to go back. You can try reseating your nanoSIM or replacing it. Or call your cell provider and have them check the provisioning on your phone.
Or Restore your iPhone from your backup in iTunes. -
