What can the form do in the real situation?

I am planing to learn form develop. But, I am wondering what the form can do in the real situation. I did not do such work before. So I do not know what the form can do in the real world.
Such as, in the all kinds of webpages, there are a lot of tables which include data from database. Are those tables made by oracle form ? what else can form do ? Basiclly, oracle form just develop tables and publish in the webpage? Is that correct?
thanks

Forms can do lot of things. Question is, what do you want to do with it :)
Oracle forms is a very good tool in creating enterprise applications quickly and efficietly. It is very tightly coupled with the Oracle database.
It's not only web pages, where this is used. We've our own interconnect manager product, (used for network billing) developed entirely in oracle forms.
Only thing, it lacks is a little bit of look and feel which can also be significantly enhanced using java beans etc.
So, tell me if u want to develop a particular thing and then may be we can tell if, if it is possible to do using forms or not?

"You have to change your router's IP address to be able to access it. It will not give you the internet."
I'm not sure what that means Richard, but I did change the router's IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.5.1- isn't that what you meant in your first post. I know that isn't reflected in my screen capture that I took last night, but I did do that this morning after I read your post.
"Log on to your router and change two settings.
Change the setting in Setup from PPPoE to Automatic Configuration-DHCP and click on save.
Click on Advance Routing and change the setting from Gateway to Router then click on save."
I did this and still same results as far as I can tell. Can't get online through the router.
"Click on MAC address clone under setup tab ... click enable & click clone ...click save settings ... Check the IPaddress under WAN page ....
If getting IP in public range .... try going online ...."
I tried this- at least to the part about checking the IP address under WAN. I assume you mean the WAN page in the modem setup- nothing looked any different after trying what you suggested, and I'm not really sure where I would be "getting IP in public range" or what that means.
I'm about to give up and just buy a new router to see if I can get the same lack of results with a different one. My ISP maintains that everything is set up correctly on their end and really can't do anything more for me. The Modem works and is set up correctly and they can give tech support for a router.
Here's what my basic setup looks like now:

Here's what the advanced tab looks like now:

  • What is the real scm latest version ?

What is the real scm latest version/patchset ?
    10g, 9i or 9.0.4 ??

There is a "latest' version of 6i and 9i and 10g. Each of these uses a similar underlying repository. Each is connected to a Designer that generates a specific release of Developer (6i gens Forms 6i, 9i gens Forms 9i, etc).
About now, the latest 10g is 9.0.4.5, while the latest 9i is 9.0.2.9, and the latest 6i is 4.11.

  • VGA vs DVI - What's the real difference?

Hi everyone, quick question. I currently have my 19" LCD display hooked up to my MacBook via the Apple Mini-DVI to VGA adapter. Here's my question. What is the real image quality difference between VGA and DVI-D connections?
I don't watch videos or do any video editing, so if that's the difference, I don't need it.
Would I notice any additional display sharpness (especially text and pictures) by upgrading to a monitor with a DVI-D input?
    Thanks!
    Dave

    Read the Overview from this:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvi
That explain a bit of the benefit of DVI.
I also use my Samsung LCD 19" widescreen with mini DVI to VGA, and so far I'm happy with it, so if you happy with your display color, why bother to spend abnother $19.99 for new adapter.
    Good Luck

  • What are the real minimum requirements for Mountain Lion?

What are the real minimum requirements for Mountain Lion. Currently running Snow Leopard. I have a late 2006 Model: iMac6,1. Specs: 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo, 3 GB 667 MHz DDR2, and the optional nVidia GeForce 7600GT c/w 256MB GDDR2. The advertisement is stating a 2007 model as the minumum, however the fastest 2006 Gen Plastic iMac should be faster then the slowest 2007 Gen Aluminum iMac7,1?

From a previous posting from some else, I saw it was the 32bit versus 64bit video card driver being the issue. I was wondering if the optional video card I have installed also was limited to the 32bit issue. 64bit drivers exist for the 7600 GT GPU.

  • What can the N800 do without an Internet Connectio...

The N800 appears to be a great Internet tool. But what can the N800 do without an Internet Connection? It appears dependent on the connection
In reading the User's Guide I am left wondering how much work can be accomplished when out of reach of the Internet???

With computing so Internet-centric, the N800 sounds pretty good, but two of my most valued programs won't run on it...and I do not know if there is are Quicken-like, Excel-like, Word-like programs for it.
I am traveling to less-traveled places in China this summer and hope to use it for online, in-country air travel reservations...and Skype out phone calls home.
But beyond that, it's a geek-toy...aren't we allowed to have as many toys as we want...it's just that I like to be able to justify my toys

  • What are the major situations  to go to the short dump in abap programming?

What are the major situations  to go to the short dump in abap programming?

    Hi,
The major situations that an ABAP Program can result a dumb are as follows...
    1) Poor coding i.e., if the data in the data base is less, then even a poor code can give you the result.  But when you transport the program into Production, then there the same program will give you a dump, resulting 'TIMED OUT' error.  So performance tunning is required for each and every program.
    2) while calling a function module.
    3) extracting of data into fields which are not type casted.
    4) in case of x/y value, one should check the value of 'y' should not be zero, else a dump will result.
these are few which i can give for time being........

  • What are the real advantages of ultilizing Teststand test engine as opposed to stand-alone Labview programming

The real problem that i am having is trying to keep open the VI that is called by Teststand for the user to enter values. Sometimes the window does not even appear to be open. Do i need to add delays.

    hi,
I guess you do have a while loop in your VI to allow for user input!!
It might be that the VI front panel is going behind the main panel. In which case you need to make the VI behave as a modal dialog. If you have TestStand 2 then there is an example ModalDialog in the examples folder. If you are still using Teststand 1.0.x then you can get the same example in the Resource Library. Do a search for Modal Dialog.
    Hope this helps

  • What are the real data files of an Oracle installation?

When I install an Oracle (XE) database then a lot of stuff is copied/setup:
*.exe, jdbc driver, service tools, scripts, config files,....
But which are the real data files (under WinXP)?
I mean the files where all the individual, personal table defintions, trigger code, inserted data records are stored?
As far as I heard these are only 9 files.
    Is this true?
What, if I copy just these 9 files to another Oracle XE installation on another computer and replace the 9 files over there?
Is all the content available at the remote computer after restart?

What, if I copy just these 9 files to another Oracle XE installation on another computer and replace the 9 files over there? No. Oracle is far more complex than that. The control file keeps info about the data files, including stuff like the last checkpoint scn, etc. If you just drop a new file on a different installation, even if the file has the same name and is in the same path, it won't match the info in the control file.
That's not to say there aren't ways to move a data file from one installation to another. But it is a lot more complex than simply dragging a file from one folder to another.

  • What should the real world transfer speeds be on the SATA drive?

I've getting the following speeds on my Hitachi Deskstar drive that shipped with my MacPro.
I read somewhere that the hitachi drives shipped running at a lower speed and one had to use the tools supplied on the Hitachi website (DOS disk!!) to enable the higher speeds.
This is the reading from Xbench.
Is this correct? 66mb/sec? Isn't this less than Firewire 800?
    Sequential 100.30
    Uncached Write 108.53 66.64 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Write 101.51 57.43 MB/sec [256K blocks]
    Uncached Read 84.80 24.82 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Read 110.85 55.71 MB/sec [256K blocks]
Bit of a newbie to drive architecture, but what does the 3gb/sec come from???
    Thanks in advance

FW is capable of 800 Mbps.
SATA has a bandwidth of 3Gbps
SATA 1.0 specifies a channel bandwidth of up to 150MB/sec theoretical.
    SATA 2.x specifies 300MB/sec.
Compare that more to how Ultra160 SCSI shares or uses that for multiple drives (and there was some overhead and inefficiency that could result in loss of 10-15%).
SATA Port Multiplier controllers can share that 3Gbps with up to 5 drives.
My 10K Raptor has 84MB/sec writes, and about 75MB/sec reads.
    Xbench is not accurate.
You might want to take a look at StorageReview -> Drive Performance DB.
Most 7.2K drives, PATA or SATA, are in the 60-65MB/sec range today.
