What can you tell me about HD recovery success

My G5's HD is crashed and gone (confirmed by Apple tech). I will replace it myself (out of warranty and I have done before w/G4) but I want to know the most cost-effective recovery method. I am likely going to buy Data Rescue II. Anybody have any pro or con experience with this or just with HD recovery in general?

That is what everyone tries first, because it works, lets you demo what it might recover. After that, you get into sector copying devices like Disc Jockey for $500.
Makes buying 3 of those WD 6400AAKS for $240 so easy. Two backups for each data drive.

What were you doing when you received the message?
I have seen reports on these forums where there is a limit to how many contacts you can have in the "to" field of a text message. That is the only thing I can think of where someone has reported getting a warning about too many contacts.

This is a user-to-user support forum. We can't tell you anything. However, if you call AppleCare, they should be able to tell you. See the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page.

  • Portal Login Java Code (Pseudo-SSO): What can you tell me??

    Never mind...

Can you tell me what this code does? Why don't you run it and find out for yourself?

  • We are considering the Apple Tv.  Can you tell me about the things we need in order to get started?

Can anyone tell me about the wifi needed for Appletv?

that's your download speed and it should be fine for the Apple TV, providing you are actually getting that.
The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

  • I wanna buy a BB Bold 9650, can you tell me about it?

             So, i wanna get a BB Bold 9650 and since im 12, my mom has to buy it and shes complaining that if she buys it for the full reatail price (because my contracts not up yet) it will break and id b stuck with it....so, can u tell me the "Cons: and Pros" of it and tell me about it please. ty(;

I, too, am considering the BOLD as my next phone.  You can read about it here:  http://www.phonearena.com/phones/RIM-BlackBerry-Bold-9650_id4283 and http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=2497
Realize that everyone has different needs and expectations, so those need to be taken into account when reading reviews.  Your needs and expectations also need to be considered.
Having said that, I just have to ask...Why on earth does a 12 year old need (or even want) a Blackberry?!?  You are not due for an upgrade, your mother is concerned ("complaining" is the word you used) that you will break it  (is this why you are in the market for a new phone before you are eligible to upgrade?) and she is the one footing the bill, even though you said YOU want to buy it, I doubt you have the financial resources to buy it ... it's a lot of money for something a 12 year old (IMHO) has no business using - and I mean that quite literally.  A Blackberry is primarily a business tool, built for email and networking - NOT for teenagers and texting and Facebooking....you can do that with a host of other phones that don't cost nearly as much and don't need a data plan, and would be much more suitable for a 12 year old.  Again, that's my opinion - and I really don't know your situation.
I just have a hard time reconciling a 12 year old and a Blackberry, or even a cell phone .... my kids didn't even get cell phones till they were driving....

  • Dear friends can you tell me about item interest calcu

    dear friends,
hi friends can anybody please tell me about item int calculation, where it is used and how?
    thanking you
    Ramkrishna

    Dear Ramkrishna,
we use Item int calculation in AP/AR for customer
the following steps give u more details about that,
Here are steps for interest calculation:
    1. Define terms of payments:
    T.code: OBB8
path: img ->fin. accting -> AP AR :-> Business transactions :->outgoing invoice and credit memo :-> maintain terms of payment
    2. Define Interest Cal indicators / type:
    T.code: ob46
path: img ->fin. accting -> AP AR :-> Business transactions :-> interest calculation global settings :-> define interest cal types
here in int cal type select 'p' for int cal on line items
    3. Make Interest Indicator Available to Interest Run Program:
    T.Code: ob82
path: img ->fin. accting -> AP AR :-> Business transactions :-> interest calculation global settings :-> prepare int. on arreas
    4. Create Reference Interest Rate:
    T.code: OBAC
path: img ->fin. accting -> AP AR :-> Business transactions :-> interest calculation :-> interest calculation -> define reference interest rate
    5. Assign interest indicators to ref. int rate or define time dependant terms:
    T.code: ob81
path: img ->fin. accting -> AP AR :-> Business transactions :-> interest calculation :-> interest calculation -> define time dependant terms
here in sequnece #  always use 1 for line item interest
    6. Interest calculation account assignment:
Here we will mention how and which accounts the interest program should post.
    T.code: obv1
path: img ->fin. accting -> AP AR :-> Business transactions :-> interest calculation :-> interest posting -> prepare interest on arreas calculation (customers)

  • I've herd a lot about the app glitching when you purchase the $5 version can you tell me about that?

    .

Without the in-app purchase you are only a very basic set of instruments. The added content will make the app much more versatile, but it needs a lot of extra space. If you are not really using GarageBand a lot, you may want to keep it small.
The download needs a reliable internet connection,, but other than that, I do not know of any problems created by installing it.
See:  Expanding GarageBand for iOS 2.0 content with an in-app purchase
You may get the contents for free, if you previously owned GarageBand 1.4:
If you previously purchased an earlier version of GarageBand for iOS, you will get the In-App Purchase content for free. To restore your purchase, you may need to tap Already Purchased when you see the in-app purchase in GarageBand.

  • Can you give me some reasons about why I need to buy an iPod touch 5.Although I have the iPhone ,iPod nano, iPad ,MacBook pro,I think the iPod touch 5 is so attractive that I can't help buying it at once.If I have it,what I can do with it,can you tell me?

All I can say is that I REALLY like my Touch 4th gen because I have all sorts of capabilities in a small form: e-mail, web browsing, news, weather, books, magazines, etc. etc.  Plus lots and lots of apps out there, including so many free ones.  I use the Cloud a lot so it's great to have everything sync'd to my MacBookPro (e-mail, Evernote, Pocket, etc.)
It would be easier, though, to do some of this, especially magazines, on the iPad mini, but, again, I love the small size of the Touch.
As for the 5th gen instead of the 4th, the fifth has Siri and the 3D feature in maps, which are great.  And I'm sure it's a lot faster in iOS 6 than the 4th gen.  And cool colors!
    Don't know if this helps . . .

4.3.5 is the current version, so that is the version that iTunes will download, not 4.3.3
In terms of error 3194, have you got the latest version of iTunes on your computer ? - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error3194

  • How can you tell what GB a handset is...I'm buying iphone6 second hand

HHow can you tell what GB is in an iPhone 6 ....I'm buying second hand

the most reliable way is to go on the phone and tap
Settings/General/About - that will tell you the capacity (among other things)
but remember the actual space wont be what Apple advertises - my 128 GB iPhone 6 + says it has 114 gb of space - there is formatting and the operating system to take into account
the size is also printed on the back of the original box but unless you have the phone and get get the serial number off the phone (which is in that same location) you cant be sure the box is from the phone you are trying to buy

Tom, is it acceptable to use FCP7 Log & Transfer when importing card media (like I have been doing in the past) and then close FCP7 and open FCPX and import those ProRes clips - since they're in the RAID, already labeled and trimmed, and already "optimized"?  Does that sound like something that will work for me and work with FCPX?

  • Can you tell me what to do? "This iPad has not been backed up in 4 weeks.Back ups happen when this iPad is plugged in locked and connected to Wi-Fi" What do I do?

Can you tell me what I should do? My iPad shows the following message, " This iPad has not been backed up in 4 weeks. Back ups happen when this iPad is plugged in locked and connected to Wi-Fi"  Thank you in anticipation you will be able to help me, Ray Mill.

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

  • Can you tell me what mDNSResponder is?

Can you tell me what mDNSResponder is and why, according to Activity Monitor, it shows continual use of my satellite internet bandwidth? In the past couple of days, I have noticed a steady up and down loading of packets on Activity Monitor (about one MB per minute)  which will soon cause me to exceed my 10GB monthly allowance. This is a change from previous behavior?
    thank you,
    Joe
