So I'm looking for another card. Right now I have a few with a $0 balance, and then one with a $1900 balance. I want a card that I can use for travel, because I like to travel a lot. I have the Discover IT card which is the card with the balance right now. Other than that I have a LOC though my bank, a Cap One card, and a USAA card. Pretty low limits at about $1000. I have a 710 credit score so I'm looking for something with about a $7500 limit. Who should I go with?

You need to find employment and then look for a secured credit card to establish some credit.

The new iTunes has a somewhat different look from the previous version. You can get the old look back if you prefer it by doing View > Show Sidebar in iTunes. Or you can adapt to the new look.

Nvidia 6800M Card in MacBook Pro 2.5 -what card is Apple using for repairs?

Am getting one of the outgoing MacBook Pros Early 2008 with 2.5 GHz 250 HD and 512MB VRAM. I thought this model was not one of those with the defective Nvidia 6800M Card. Apple didn't list the 2.5 GHz machine on their website as one of those with the bad card.
Now I'm certain that this machine too has the defective card (based on all the web info and evidence that Nvidia never fixed or altered their production processes on this and it was a soldering defect).
If Apple replaces it with a new logic board presumably -- will it have the exact same type of 6800M card or a new, revised one? <edited by host>

Am very worried as I don't game but bought this thing for graphics on the side and home use. I may not "stress it" sufficiently with CS 3 Suite so problem may not manifest until after AppleCare runs out. I want this machine to last 5 -- 7 years. Should I return it and get hit with open box fees???

there is a repair program in place stating that should the GPU fail as a result of the defect, your warranty will be extended to two years and the repair will be free of charge. if you happen to get applecare, it's free of charge to fix anyways.
the support article also says that the affected models were manufactured between may 2007 and september 2008.
that being said, i don't think all of the 8600M GTs are defective. should a repair be necessary at this point (or a year from now, when the GPU usually fails for most people who have had it fail), i can confidently say that it would be replaced with a revised chip since nvidia has corrected the problem this past summer (as stated by another poster). the new revision should be free from the defect.
apple would not put in a different GPU (eg: the 9600M GT) than the one it came with.

What are you giving your customers for hanging in there waiting for their phones? It is now the 31st and no word on when my phone will be available. The Genius Bar people believe the video card (ATI Radeon 9600 Pro) in my G5 is gone. Is there a compatibility chart somewhere to figure out what card I should
buy to replace it? It needs to drive a 20in three-legged cinema display (A1038)
which has an ADC connector (the kind that also powers the display).

The iPhone is locked to a different carrier. Only that carrier and authorize unlocking so you can use the iPhone with other carriers, so you will have to contact that original carrier and ask if you qualify for unlocked and if so what their procedure is.

The computer you have will accept the correct RAM chips in their respective
locations, a 200-pin SODIMM in the user-friendly bottom location near the
AirPort card slot; and a 184-pin DIMM in the internal slot that's hard to reach.
The difference in the PC2100 and the PC2700 in this instance, is when you
put the PC2700 DDR333 into the computer you have, it will work OK but
will read as a 266MHz chip. The PC2700/DDR333 is backward compatible
to the original spec chip the computer shipped with; but at a original speed.
After the initial introduction of these computer models, some of them were
found to be able to use a higher capacity RAM chip than the first ones they
were authorized in capacity to use. So, some can use a total of 1024MB
while others could use a total of (two 1GB chips) 2048MB combined.

Considering FCP 5, what machine to get?

I am looking at solutions to edit DVCproHD from the Panasonic HVX200 camera and I am aware that FCP 5 does a pretty good job of it.
I am debating between what type of system to get for this application - G5 Dual 2.3 or G5 Quad 2.5. I also saw on the AJA website that the Kona LHe accelerates DVCproHD footage on FCP. What would you get? 2.3 + Kona LHe or Quad G5 with the potential of getting the Kona LHe down the road. Is the 2.3 pretty close in speed or does the quad offer a lot?
I would like this system to last me a good 3 years of editing and I know the Intel macs are coming but it seems like they are a year away from getting stable and probably wouldnt offer anything over the quad for 1.5 to 2 years.
In terms of output, I would do h264 or Quicktime ref for film outs so I dont necessarily need the In/Out capability of the Kona card.
What would you do?

Faster machine. You can always add a card - but you can't add a faster processor to a mac.
The question is not - will it work - the question is will it keep up with my demands. Sure a slower machine will work, but in a month, when you figure out that Final Cut can do so much more than your windows app - you will realize that you can do more. Three years is a long time to settle now for a slower machine.
By the way, my first Intel Mac is on order. I can't wait for my pre-order of Universal FC and my Macbook. Instability is something that I was way too familier with when I was editing on a Windows box on Avid then Pinnacle then Premier. Now that I edit on a Mac - I won't go back.

i tried to pay for a game i want from ovi store. it seems that many peple experience server error. this is frustrating. i can install free apps but i cannot buy priced ones???

I too am having this problem and I have an N8, I appear to be unable to see option on my phone where I can then set up my account details, my provider is not locking my sim card which Nokia implied was the problem (see FAQ in General help section) and when I contacted the Nokia support was advised to clear Cache and cookies from both phone and PC which I did ,neither worked . I love my N8 its a great phone but I feel the Nokia attitude is slow to react to their customers needs by being too busy shooting themselves in the foot, I am fighting to stay away from Arrogant Apple with their one choice of phone but the apps are the real attraction so how can Nokia get this so wrong ?
