What card ?

I have been looking on this card MSI R7970 Lightning 3 gb
But i have also heard that 2 other lower cards from the 7 series should be better and cheaper ?
What cards from the 7 serie should i crossfire and get better ressults in games ?

Quote from: Psycrovv on 10-June-12, 05:22:11
look here
Its shows that crossfire 2 x 7850 is better than 1 x 7970 card, but then again the 7970 card have 3 gb and the other crossfire system is " only 2 gb " and the cost are the same for either 2 7850 cards or 1 7970
So what should i choose here ?
I can also choose to buy the 7970 card and then save money for another in crossfire,
So i am a bit in doubt here
Second option will be best, 2x7970 will be more powerfull in all cases.
And more expensive respective.
If you want the top stuffs and max performance in ultra resolutions, go for 7970. the king of the hill.
Another question will be, if its 7970, to be Lightning one or some other:

Why would you get help from Apple?  You need to contact your credit card company and find out why the security code is invalid.

    Hi cjp1,
The KnowledgeBase article Programmtic PXI Slot Detection walks you through the steps to do this. There is also a community example called Read PXI an PXIe Card Serial Numbers Programatically that demonstrates the type of LabVIEW architecture you can use to do it.
You should first ensure that all of your modules can be identified and self-test in MAX.

  • Envy 17-j141na SD card reader - what card types does it support

As in the title really - what card types does the SD reader on the Envy 17-j141na support? I can't find this actually documented anywhere.
I know it supports up to SDHC, does it support the SDXC standard ?
    Mike

    Good Morning mykejb,
As I stated your specifications do not state the exact cards it supports.  I regret that  I am unable to give you a yes or no answer.
If you check around the card reader itself, sometimes on the bottom of the notebook, it will list the supported card types.  If not all I can suggest is try and see.   If it seems if the card is too small for the slot, you may need an adapter for an SDXC card.
Here is a link to SD/SDHC/SDXC Specifications and Compatibility( from scan disk support).  Please note this quote"NOTE: Internal card readers on laptops from 2008 and prior may NOT support SDXC cards. SDXC cards will work in SDHC compatible readers (not SD readers) if the computer OS supports exFAT. For more information on exFat see: Operating Systems that support the exFAT File System"

  • What cards for the g5 are compatible with the A1038 display?

The Genius Bar people believe the video card (ATI Radeon 9600 Pro) in my G5 is gone. Is there a compatibility chart somewhere to figure out what card I should
buy to replace it? It needs to drive a 20in three-legged cinema display (A1038)
which has an ADC connector (the kind that also powers the display).
    Thank you,
    Andras

    Hi-
There are a few ADC equipped cards available at We Love Macs:
    http://www.welovemacs.com/agpg5vica.html
The above page is as close to a compatibility chart as you'll get.

Please help. i'm looking at my friends having iphone and here i am starting to regret ever buying another nokia phone.

I too am having this problem and I have an N8, I appear to be unable to see option on my phone where I can then set up my account details, my provider is not locking my sim card which Nokia implied was the problem (see FAQ in General help section) and when I contacted the Nokia support was advised to clear Cache and cookies from both phone and PC which I did ,neither worked . I love my N8 its a great phone but I feel the Nokia attitude is slow to react to their customers needs by being too busy shooting themselves in the foot, I am fighting to stay away from Arrogant Apple with their one choice of phone but the apps are the real attraction so how can Nokia get this so wrong ?

Ok, so I managed to navigate the main MSI site and followed the link to figure out what my product number is.  However, unless I'm requesting an RMA, this information seems useless to me.  I cannot click somewhere on the driver page to determine what card I have based on the product number.  Am I just missing something?  I've got an MS-8822-040.

Thought it would be fun to see what cards you are using and for what purchases. Today I went to Lowes and broke in my new Lowes card to purchase some items for a small project on my camper. It was nice seeing the instant 5% discount on the total purchase.

  • Where can I purchase an upgraded GPU for my PM G5? What card should I get?

I don't know much about Macs but I need to purchase an upgraded video card for somebody in our graphic design department.
Can I purchase an upgraded video card directly through Apple or is there another preferred vendor somebody here can recommend?
I read that the ATI 4870 is likely the best video card available for the Mac at this point in time, can somebody confirm this or tell me what else I should opt for?
    Thanks in advance!
P.S. I don't see anywhere on the Apple website where I can actually purchase a GPU...can somebody please provide a link?
P.P.S. He has the Mac Pro 1,1 model:

Std. HD: 250 GB (7200 RPM) Std. Optical: 6X DL "SuperDrive"

    Hello again, The hatter.
Although OP does specifically mention ATI 4870, and although Apple sells ATI 4870, it seems to me that the Apple 4870 product page
      http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB999ZM/A
does NOT assure OP of compatibility with his Mac Pro "Quad Core" 2.66 (Original) from August 2006.
      http://support.apple.com/kb/SP30
I am not knowledgeable in these specifics. Perhaps you know the answer to these questions.
    (1) Can the ATI 4870 work with OP's August 2006 QuadCore MacPro, or does he need some different upgrade-video card?
    (2) Should OP be looking for a ATI Radeon X1900 XT or NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 (or equivalents) rather than ATI 4870 to upgrade his August 2006 QuadCore MacPro's video card?

  • What card would i need to see a clear, square 1 microsecond pulese?

Im going to be working with some pulses that may be as little as 1 microsecond, I need a card that I can see this pulse as a square. I will be measuering the amplitude of the pulse is this makes a difference. Currently I have an E-Series DAQ card that isnt going to be cutting it for me, even at 10 microseconds it isnt that clear, but still not nearly as bad as it is with 1, which seems to turn out more like a sharp point that a square. Ive heard somthing about possibly useing a counter/trimer card for somthing like that, but honostly I really dont know too much about them. If anyone has any ideas of what I would need it would be greatly appreciated, as well what sampling rate would I need?
    Thanks
    -Mark

A counter timer would do the job if all you are interested in is a pulse width measurement. Nyquist says you need a sample rate at least twice the signal frequency. You won't see anything close to a square wave at 2X but it might be sufficient depending on what kind of tolerances you're dealing with and how much overshoot/undershoot is liable to be present. A 10 Msample daq board gives you a sample every 100 nsec. If the amplitude that you're interested in is at the center of the pulse, I'd think this sample rate would be ok.

  • Nvidia 6800M Card in MacBook Pro 2.5 -what card is Apple using for repairs?

    The Nvidia 6800M Card:
Am getting one of the outgoing MacBook Pros Early 2008 with 2.5 GHz 250 HD and 512MB VRAM. I thought this model was not one of those with the defective Nvidia 6800M Card. Apple didn't list the 2.5 GHz machine on their website as one of those with the bad card.
Now I'm certain that this machine too has the defective card (based on all the web info and evidence that Nvidia never fixed or altered their production processes on this and it was a soldering defect).
If Apple replaces it with a new logic board presumably -- will it have the exact same type of 6800M card or a new, revised one? <edited by host>
Those of you getting a repair --- what kind of card do you have now? Can they put a different video card on there???
Am very worried as I don't game but bought this thing for graphics on the side and home use. I may not "stress it" sufficiently with CS 3 Suite so problem may not manifest until after AppleCare runs out. I want this machine to last 5 -- 7 years. Should I return it and get hit with open box fees???

    hepatica,
there is a repair program in place stating that should the GPU fail as a result of the defect, your warranty will be extended to two years and the repair will be free of charge. if you happen to get applecare, it's free of charge to fix anyways.
the support article also says that the affected models were manufactured between may 2007 and september 2008.
that being said, i don't think all of the 8600M GTs are defective. should a repair be necessary at this point (or a year from now, when the GPU usually fails for most people who have had it fail), i can confidently say that it would be replaced with a revised chip since nvidia has corrected the problem this past summer (as stated by another poster). the new revision should be free from the defect.
apple would not put in a different GPU (eg: the 9600M GT) than the one it came with.

  • Thoughts on what cards I should target next

I am trying to decide which cards I should target next. My goal is building up a point balance for a trip to Japan or maybe Brazil. I have four new accounts from Jan which are over six months old now and a prestige card that I picked up two months ago. I can do personal or business cards. Where should be my main focus if I am looking for premium redemptions. RIght now I have about 90k TY points coming in so I was looking into maybe workijng towards signapore airlines, because I can use TY points and amex MRs with their program and redeem for a suite. Normally I would look for AA redemptions but I only have like 14k AA miles in my account and don't think I will be able to build the account back up  that quickly. I have abut 44k amex MRs saved up at moment. Some thoughts on what I might do. I am considering going for the citi premier card for the signup offer since I already have the prestige and I could use that card for travel bonus spend (if I did this then I would have 140k TY points to use). I could pick up the chase co-branded marriott card to redeem for some marriott stays, although I want to go for the ink plus when they have a good signup offer so I'm trying to avoid more chase apps. For amex I was looking at maybe a personal plat or a business plat/prg. None of the signups at the moment look super appealing and I am not getting the great signup offer via cardmatch for the plat. I have a number of URs saved up already but I am trying to save those for hyatt redemptions vs using them on airfare. Which card offers would you suggest I target and which cards should I focus my spend on? I was thinkg about going hard on the Everyday card to try to get my MR account up. .  I currently have venture, cs, citi aa plat, citi prestige, amex everyday, amex spg, ink bold, arrival+, citi hilton, chase hyatt, freedomI got rid of or downgraded the following: csp, amex prg, Citi AA exec

On second thought it looks like getting the Ink Plus may be harder than I thought. I got notified today that they are changing the bold card over to a revolver basically. They said there will be a set limit and I have option to pay over time with interest. This seems like it will make it very difficult for me to convince chase that I need the ink plus when I already have the bold.Well not necessarily, I'm sure there are others out there that have 2 Chase business cards and didn't have to do any convincing (although I could be wrong). Maybe you should just try for the Ink Plus now if that's the card you really want?Because they have had much higher signup offers in the past. Don't want to app for a 50k offer when I have seen 70k offers in the past and sometimes the higher offers occur around the end of summer. No way to predict for sure, but being its that time of year makes it worth waiting a month or two.
