What career path to take after CCNA??
Hi All
I completed my ccna 2 years ago.I am working as 2nd line IT support but have no experience to any of the cisco products.Because all of the switches are allready configured and company dont let you touch the stuff unless you have experience.Because i need to renew the certification at the end of the year i am thinking shall i go for ccna security or not?
I have tried applying for all the cisco jobs but no luck so far??Please help........

You are in a proverbial spin-cycle: Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?
Companies won't hire you because you are not CCNA, for example. Now that you are CCNA they won't hire you because you don't have any experience. You can't have any experience because no one will hire you.
Unfortunately, in our line of work, we always require someone who has "certification" because we won't spend endless time explaining the concept of IP subnetting, for example. However, this does not stop anyone who claims to be CCNA/CCNP and designs a rack-full of HP servers and a 3750E as top-of-rack switch and hoping the PoE can power up the servers. Or someone who claims to be CCNA but doesn't know how to erase a config of a router.
Short story is this: Unless you can gain a foothold to the IT industry, studying for more certification is a waste of your time. I mean, CCNA Security is nice-to-have but unless you have three years of experience under your belt, it doesn't really mean much.

What To Take After CCNA?
Hi Experts,
Hi! I would like to ask you guys on what certification could I take after CCNA?
My choices are to take CCNP but I believe it is a long and hard road because of 3 hardcore exams.
Also in my option is to take CCNA voice because I'm curious on how Cisco voice works specially to work on it on home labs.
Guys need your advice on a Cisco carreer path to take.
Thank you for your support.
RonHi ronchristian.timbang,
I would agree with Leo on this.
Once you complete the CCNA, Go for CCNP Routing and Switching and make sure you read the book throughly and understand the concepts how the technollogy works rather than going for certification first. If you understand the technlogy and concept getting the certification would be really easy.
I see that CCNP exam is covering almost most of the concept hence if you read book not leaving a single page then you would be very good at it.
Do some practice on the physical labs if possible else go with GNS/Packet tracer and try to do all the labs.
I would also appriciate if you can think some logical way of how the routing/switch works and try to implement creating scenario of your own that makes you master by thinking out of the box.
Say for example:
1- STP how to migrate MSTP to PVST/PVST+
2- What changes are there between STP/RPVST
3- Explain indepth the reason to choose BGP and how you can influence the routes/
4- OSPF is itself a indepth ocean hence check how you can get all the areas to talk to each other and how you can filter it.
5- How can you interact between different protocols.
6- Wirelss concept would be included in your CCNP i believe
7- Think of which track you want to know after completing the CCNP r&S. If you just want to know what is voice technology then study CCNA voice and move back to your actual track if it is R&S then plan for CCIE certification.
8- If you dont have any plan to gain CCIE certification and you are enough with CCNP R&S then you can also think of CCNA,CCNP Data center which is very well required now a days to understand what all components involve there and how it works.

STEPS TAKEN:
Logged into Mac for first time today.
Noticed a new individual file in Directory Library ".a.text". (Settings disply hidden system file/folders)
File contained only the text "--purge".
Meta data on file directed source to bash process run @ startup.
Attached History command output.
Disabled ARD for now.
SETTINGS:
All Sharing was Off.
Firewall was set to Block All Incoming Connections.
Home network with no other active users at time.
Upgraded to Mavs 10.9.2 last night.
Do not use any file sharing or remote access into Mac.
The SSH host attempts were my old Amazon EC2 instances.
Appears to start bitcoin app and few databases.
Worth noting I've been having tons of various issues last few months.
Thanks.

<POB> ENDI'm extremely unclear on exactly what's happening. You mention something about a script running at startup in your subject, but then never mention that again. What's going on there? Where are you finding that script?
That script would suggest someone playing a joke on you, by making your computer say "quack" every time you start up. That's not indicative of malware.
On the other hand, a hidden file as you describe is a common malware trick, though I'm not sure why it would only contain "--purge" - that isn't a complete command, as far as I know, and the purge command isn't likely to be used for malicious purposes anyway.
Still, you do have some indication that you're using Bitcoin-related apps, and there has been some Bitcoin malware that has appeared recently. See:

Note that the post on MacRumors that you refer to in your second post is almost six years old, and references a vulnerability that was closed later in 2008. It's completely irrelevant to any modern system. -
I'm considering a new career path to take. I would like to work mainly as a help desk technician and then grow from there. My question is as a newbie here what microsoft certification should I begin with? MTA? MCSA? Also would you
recommend bootcamps or trade schools? Thanks. For Win8 or Win7, opt for MCSA. But very few corporations are looking at Win8. To prepare for MCSA, select a good institutes that have good faculty and provide
proper training using real equipment. I am also Microsoft certified from Koenig Solutions, which is world's #1 offshore training institute -
In October 2011, my previous employer converted to SAP, as the rest of the worldwide entities were already using SAP. At that time, I was an Order Coordinator, where my job role was to process all of the Inside/Outside Sales Representatives orders for the US. Because of my keen attention to detail, the speed in which I learn new roles and general IT knowledge, I was asked to be the SAP SuperUser for our Financial Operations team. I quickly began to learn the roles of Order-to-Cash, Customer Master Data, Pricing Conditions, Contracts, some Material Master Data, and even Customer/Material Pricing Audits. I also performed manual customer billing in SAP until the automatic modules were implemented. Knowledge of these roles created a need for me to become a trainer to my team, where the SAP Consultants left off. After only working in SAP for the few months after the conversion started, I evolved out of an Order Coordinator rights of access and was given a not-so-typical role as an "analyst". I had more than a firefighter role in SAP, as my normal log in credentials gave me full rights to all of these modules and even special reporting. Our parent global company realized necessity for my role and followed proper protocol to authorize the access changes to still meet the SOx regulations. Prior to using SAP, I never thought I'd fall in love with it and enjoy my job so much, but it happened! Despite my previous employer's less than perfect data that was copied into SAP, we managed to have an efficient ongoing process to clean it all up. I became more of a liaison between Financial Operations and our IT Dept/SAP Consultants. I "translated" the technical steps that IT/SAP Consultants were trying to teach everyone and trained my Financial Operations team in a way they would understand. I truly enjoyed my job, even at our most difficult moments.
However, after all of the fun I was having while working in SAP and truly gaining a ton of useful experience and knowledge, "life" happened and I had an opportunity to move from Atlanta, GA to southern California. I've searched for months to find a new career here in California with a company that I could continue my learning experiences and become more proficient in SAP, but I'm a little lost. My search to find jobs have only given me possibilities in Customer Service positions or ones that are SAP sales/programming based. I'm floating in limbo and looking for help from the SAP community on where I can go from here to get back into a career path with SAP.
I'm 28 years old and I'm currently finishing my Associate degree in Business Administration. I'm a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), certified with the Help-Desk Institute as a Support Center Analyst, and also completed my previous employer's Quality Advocate Certification which focused on Six Sigma and Lean concepts. Prior to leaving the company, I was being considered for a company sponsored training in the Six Sigma Green or Black Belt program. I've recently started working a contract position as a Customer Service Rep, processing orders, but the company will be completing an SAP conversion in May 2013; so only a few months away. The problem I have in this position is that I feel frustrated in learning their current software when their entire team seems to have their own personal ways of doing their job. I prefer to have structure and perform job duties the right way, then building on that to make the job more streamlined. I spoke with my recruiter but he feels I may be a bit premature on feelings about working in this contract position. I may be just feeling a little impatient in having to wait another 3 months to see if the company may even hire me on permanently and what role I would have with SAP, beyond Customer Service Rep. I'm hoping to get some direction from the SAP community on where I might focus my attention in learning SAP. My hope is to find a position working with SAP like the one I enjoyed so much back in GA. I'm even considering options to learn the programming side. I think SAP is a great software package once people understand how it's designed, or can be designed, to work.
Please help!!
I'd be happy to provide my resume to anyone willing to review it and give me some pointers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!I appreciate the length and detail of your post. I struggle answering questions from folks who give too little info. It's refreshing to have too much info for a change.
I'll summarize your post and give suggestions:
You have very strong end user experience, almost bordering on support level SD knowledge. You have experience with the way that at least one company implemented SAP SD but don't have many years of experience with different approaches, so you can't pitch yourself as someone who's "been-there, done-that" outside of the SD world and you can't bill yourself as having SD functional knowledge to the extend that you could be a consultant for SAP SD. (See FAQ: Different Career Paths in SAP for descriptions of different traditional SAP career paths.)
You've moved to Southern California, which is chock full of companies using SAP, by the way, and you're having a hard time finding the right job. Your education is probably going to be problematic at this point. Most SAP related jobs require a Bachelor's Degree at a minimum. Definitely keep on going with your degree. I don't know where you're doing your associate's degree, but you might want to look in to Cal State Fullerton, which has an *excellent* SAP focused business degree program. (http://business.fullerton.edu/).
You've found work at a company but had to start over at a lower level of responsibility. Since the job you just landed will be transitioning to SAP in 3 months, you have an opportunity to repeat your previous rise by volunteering to be a super-user again. Alternatively, you could talk to the group within your company and express your desire to help out supporting the system from the back end. Traditionally, companies lose a few folks immediately following an implementation, so there's a good chance that if you make your desires and skills known, that you'll be able to move onto the support team once a position opens up.
All of the above assumes that you want to continue on the functional side of SD. You didn't mention any aptitude or preference for programming. It is certainly easier to get programming jobs than functional jobs (see How did you get your start in SAP?), but it seems like you really enjoyed the functional side of SAP. I do *not* recommend learning an SAP skill for which you have no desire simply to get a job, hoping that you can switch later. Use the skills you have to get the job you really want, doing something that really excites you. It's far to easy to fall into a job simply because it's there and get trapped and burned out.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,

I can take pictures but I can't see what I'm shooting until after the picture is taken. I've already had to do one hard reset which deletes all my data. Is there any other solution? Is it a glitch that would be resolved by getting a different phone?

Quick question.
What is the total space Update Rollup 7 For Exchange 2010 SP3 (KB2961522) will take after installation?
HasanHi
Your question is a big vague. Extracting the rollup will use some space but you can delete the files afterwards.
Are you concerned about space while installing? If you have adequate space it shouldnt be a problem.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
I am asking space after installation, it will definitely install some files so how much space extra space it needed in exchange directory drive.

What steps to take after a fresh cmos reset? 970 gaming
MSI 970 gaming mob, I reset the cmos afterwards i go into bios to check settings, what steps do i take next? do i load defaults and save or can i just exit w/o saving?
Hi
Clearing CMOS is basically loading default settings. So you can either save and exit od change settings.
But one thing to make sure you do is to set correct boot order. Anything else doesnt matter much unless you do want to change anything. -
I'm trying to install a tool that requires that "the JAVA_HOME environment property is set to match the top level directory containing the JVM you want to use."
The example they give for bash is
JAVA_HOME=/whatever; export JAVA_HOME
And I can run that command without errors. However, I can't figure out what the path should be. I found an old post saying it should be /Library/Java/Home, but when I tried to run the shell script to build the tool, it said JAVA_HOME wasn't set.
I also tried /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework and /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/JavaVM, but it still said JAVA_HOME was not found.
I can't tell whether the path is wrong, the command I used to set JAVA_HOME didn't work, or something else is wrong. Does someone know the path is 10.6.2 for sure? That would really help me figure out where I'm going wrong.Sorry I don't know what the path should be, but is this tool run from Terminal or is it a GUI Mac app (i.e. launched by Finder)? Remember that setting a Terminal environment variable only affects programs started from that Terminal session, and setting a Terminal var will have no effect on a GUI app (even an app started from the command line with 'open', AFAIK). A script started from Terminal would read the Terminal vars, but if it's installing a GUI app it might be smart enough to look at the GUI environment.
To read your Terminal envr vars, just type 'set' at the Terminal prompt. If you do this in a new Terminal session, check the list to be sure your original Java install didn't already set JAVA_HOME. If so, and your new tool is a GUI app, just copy the Terminal var to the GUI environment.
To access your GUI envr vars see [Environment Variables|http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/MacOSX/Conceptua l/BPRuntimeConfig/Articles/EnvironmentVars.html] in the +Runtime Configuration Guidelines+ or take a look at [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/135688/setting-environment-variables-in-os- x].
As to what the path should be, it's probably the directory your Java installer wants to use when it asks you if you want to install in the default location or not. I guess you could run the installer up to that point and then cancel after you copy that path. If all else fails, find the JVM(s) and try the parent directory.
Btw, I'm not a Java programmer, only working from what little I know about OS X envr vars. So after you get JAVA_HOME set correctly, please don't keep the thread open to ask why the tool is making bad coffee, ok? We have some Java experts around here, but another Subject line would be the best way to get their attention.
Hope that helps!
\- Ray

All you have to do is to read the manuals and be strong in concepts.
