What caused this blockiness - dirty heads?

Not a FCP question, but I could do with some opinions. I lent my Canon XH A1 to a friend last week and he shot two hours of video at an event. He's not a pro shooter, and didn't really test the camera beforehand, although he did spend a few hours familiarising himself with the controls. None of the video is usable (see link). I assume this was caused by dirty heads. AFAIK he never got the "dirty heads" warning that the XH A1 is supposed to flash up in the viewfinder (not that you'd depend on that).
I've cleaned the heads since, and can't reproduce the problem. He was shooting DV-Pal anamorphic. The tape brand is Sony DVM60 ME, bought new from a reliable dealer. I've shot test footage at the end of one of his tapes, and there were no problems.
The weird thing is, if I play back the tape on a Sony handycam, the blockiness is not as pronounced, although still unusable. But on the Canon, the footage seems to deteriorate with each play,
My friend captured all his footage to FCP from the Canon and the blockiness on his capture is not as pronounced (similar to when I play back in the handycam).
I know this footage probably can't be saved but can anyone have a look at the link and confirm that this is in fact just a dirty head problem? I don't want this to happen to me on a shoot!
I've had the camera for a couple of years (very lightly used) and never had a problem with dirty heads.
Any ideas?

Been talking to my friend again, more info:
He did a short test the night before the shoot and there were streaky dropouts on the tape (Tape 1). He thought it might be a bad tape and re-tested with a different tape of the same brand (Tape 2)). The re-test was a static shot with no movement, and it looked fine (in retrospect, the buffering could have masked the problem). So he went ahead and did the shoot using the Tape 2 and another tape (Tape 3) of the same brand.
He didn't review Tape 2 in the field, so we can't say if it was good. Rechecked a couple of shots on Tape 3.
He got home and captured Tape 3, as it was still in the camera. Good footage, no problems. Tape 2 however played back with blocky pixels. He cleaned the heads at that point, but the blockiness persisted. He nevertheless captured Tape 2. Both tapes were also checked on a different camcorder. No improvement.
On playback again in the Canon camera, the tapes deteriorated further. Tape 3 (the good tape) is now unusable, but luckily he got a good capture of this one.
I thought it might be a tension problem and FF/RW'd the tapes a few times, but no improvement.
Does it make sense for a head clog to appear, disappear, and reappear after shooting and capturing an entire tape (Tape 3)? And then destroy tape 3 on further playback? Or could there be something more sinister at play?

The issue may happen more when your machine is generating additional heat, as when you're watching or processing video, or gaming. I can't say for certain, of course, but certain things will reduce the chance of the problem recurring:
1. Keep your machine as cool as possible. When there's additional heat, turn up the fan, or use an app like HD Fan Control to reduce the heat. Use your computer the way you see fit, but be conscious of heat.
2. Back up on a regular basis. Logic board problems can lead to more serious issues down the line, so backing up is a good way of safeguarding your data.

that might be a reason. Don't worry it will turn on after some time, try connecting it to your computer or charger and see if it helps!!...

I have had exactly the same problem now with two mini iPads. Everything was tried; 1) restarting; 2) restoring factory settings etc. NONE worked. Eventually Apple agreed to replace it. I have had the replacement now for two to three months and exactly the same thing is happening again. So off to Apple tomorrow to get another replacement.
I am quite a heavy user of the iPad so wonder if this is something to do with the fault.
It is so frustrating as sometimes reset works, and then after 10/20/30/40 minutes (you pick) it goes unstable again.

Although you say you have let the battery drain, was it for long enough? Since nothing else that you've tried so far has worked, I suggest that you leave the iPod unplugged for at least four days, preferably a week. That way, if something is stopping the iPod from turning the screen on, then whatever it is will drain the battrey. However, since the screen isn't on, that may take longer than if the screen was on.
Then, after that time, plug the iPod into a power source and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only after thirty minutes will it show any signs of life, but you should leave it until it is fully charged before trying to use it.
If you get to this stage, the fact that the battery has drained will cause the iPod to reset when it springs back to life.

It's strange. The problem apparently resolved itself after I ran TechTool on it. When I clicked on Firefox last night, I had no problem opening a window. Thanks for your help. (As to your previous post, the focus was on Firefox and neither the speed keys nor the menu bar would open a window or tab of allow me to enter a URL to open a window. Strange!)

Inconsistency in structure u0093KOMPu0094 - what caused this?

We had a problem where all users experienced an ABAP Dump 'DDIC_TYPE_INCONSISTENCY' when running transaction codes such as FB50.
To solve the problem SAP sent the following instructions:
The problem is due to Inconsistency in the Dictionary for the structure
KOMP. If you go to TCode SE11 : KOMP > Display : Utilities > Runtime
Object > Check -> Active runtime object for KOMP is inconsistent.
To solve this error, please activate the structure KOMP manually by
going to tcode SE11 : enter KOMP > Display : Structure Activate
I have asked SAP what exactly caused this problem and they mentioned that a user had changed underlying structure of KOMP named KOMPAKE.
Tcode SE11 is locked in Production to prevent stuff like this from happening and the only tcode the users ran before we experienced the first dump is KE30.
SAP insists that KE30 could not have changed structure. And the only changes made in production were transports imported 5 days before we experienced this problem.
Would anyone have ideas on how I can determine what caused this problem?

I looked at the version management for this structure KOMPAKE and the only entry I see is from the same user ID with a data/time stamp right before we experienced the first ABAP Dump, and the entry in the version managements starts like this:
Version(s) in the development database:
activ          X 640
I also noticed the same structure KOMPAKE changed in our QA environment by a user that was testing KE30 a day after we had this problem in Production.
So maybe KOMPAKE was auto-generated by KE30 and somehow failed before it could complete, leaving it in an inactive state?
But if that is the case why were there no problems before, can a structure be auto-generated if its already active?
I also found this System log in SM21 where it shows the first ABAP Dump and the errors before it:

Try this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Can you just click 'open' to run the report without exanding it to see the worksheet?
I have heard of this before and one work around was to just open it and it would work anyway. This was a couple of years ago and not sure if the same 'feature' still exists?

You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

2: Check the status of your plug-ins and update (works for all browsers) also install Firefox and see if your problems continue. You should always have at least two browsers on the machine just in case one fails.

Building a time table and doing a cross join to my original resultset gave me the desired resultset of the months assigned between dates. What I can't figure out now is how to filter months I don't want.
Doing a cross join between my original resultset that had two dates:
08/27/2010
10/24/2011
and a calendar table that has 24 rows (each month for a two year period)
my new resultset looks like this:
I need to filter the rows in yellow as the months assigned for stage 3 that started on 8/27/2010 should stop when the patient was assigned to stage 4 on 10/24/2011.
You'll notice that Jan - Sept 2011 isn't listed for Stage 4 assigned on 10/24/2011 as I included a filter in the WHERE clause that states
the Months Assigned value must be greater than or equal to the date assigned value.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Try deleting the iPod Photo Cache from the nominated folder that you have set up to sync photos to the devices.
